Kirkjufell | If you’ve seen a picture of Iceland, you’ve probably seen Kirkjufell. But, you’ve probably never seen it like this. The popular photos of this iconic destination usually show it covered in greenery. When I snapped this photo the entire landscape was covered in snow. This is also one of those “IG be like” shots where I was at the edge of the trail using a gorilla pod and dozens upon dozens of people were crowding the trail (and off trail areas) behind me. Der Diamond Beach ist ein wahres Juwel in Island 💎. Der schwarze Lavasandstrand in Kombination mit den unzähligen schimmernden Eisdiamanten und blauen Eisbergen ist einfach atemberaubend schön. The remnants of the fishing sheds built by Hellnar’s 11th-century settlers indicate that this town hasn’t changed since then. However, today it has a contemporary commitment to preserving the environment. During summer, locals head to the seaside cliffs at Hellnar to enjoy a lunch stop at Fjoruhusid.
