👑 JOURNEY TO AGP 2024 👑 ANZAC Day 2024 and today I volunteered with @rslwa at the ANZAC Day parade through Perth city. Some of the coolest people were out on the streets this morning and I wanted to share a story for those who have time to read. I had been standing in the cold holding a huge sign for hours to help organise the band in my section and on my way back down the road, I was joined by a young boy of about 15. He wanted to know if I knew where section C, 42 was because this was his first year marching in his grandads honour. He was by himself. I had been at section C the whole morning so knew exactly where to go so told him instead of telling him, I would show him. I put my sign down and walked back with him. I asked why he was by himself and did we need to wait for anyone else and he said it was only him and that usually his sister and dad would be there for his grandad but this year they couldn’t be as they too, had been killed but in a car accident late last year so he was there, to represent his family, for the first ever time. So young and clearly has been through a lot in recent times and yet nothing has as going to stop him from upholding his family tradition of joining the ANZAC Day parade. Just proves more so that your kids see you, they see what you do and how you act and learn from you, their first and greatest role model, so make it a beautiful moment you share. GRIEF is a funny thing....it comes and goes in waves, appears when you least expect it and hits everyone differently 😭😭😭 Last night in a bout of random floods of tears, this handsome man was totally ON IT...came running over and said to me.... "Don't be sad mummy, I'm here now, and she is always with us," he proceeded to literally kiss my tears away with licks, nuzzled my nose and then hugged and purred me to sleep. He also did not leave me until I woke up this morning 🥹🥹🥹 Animal communication and deep connection at its finest 👌🏻 I don't know what I'd do without them 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 However, a HUGE part of this animal communication thing isn't actual words at all, but a deep inner knowing and/of interpreting meaning from feelings and emotions. A telepathy of sorts....so there was LOT more he helped me with last night. Being an animal communicator has its perks! 🥰🥰🥰 So, for now, I will embrace the present moment and be "more cat" by honouring my soul and hurting heart by being gentle on myself and resting up. I started sea dipping to help me manage my peri symptoms and get me out of a massive funk 🥺 There are many things we can do to help manage these symptoms like relaxation, walking, supplementing with collagen, Vitamin D, magnesium and Omega 3…and there’s also cold water exposure 💦 During perimenopause, as our progesterone falls, cortisol can rise, making us feel agitated and stressed so ladies we must learn to regulate our stress responses so that the body can prioritise our other hormones for as long as possible. Cortisol is important and contributes to good memory and motivation, and it can regulate inflammation and the immune system’s responses throughout the body. It’s crucial for managing the metabolism, blood sugar levels and circadian rhythm (the sleep/wake cycle). When Cortisol is high its “fight or flight mode! But it can cause all sorts of issues and make these peri symptoms feel a lot worse. Studies show that when people immerse themselves in cold water, their cortisol levels drop.
