[Coming Soon]AGARY ZOOOAK!, oil on canvas, 193cm * 193cm, 2022 작품설명 : 입을 벌리고 있는 인물을 그렸다. 오일바(oil bar)를 지열指熱로 캔버스에 녹이는 방법으로 표현했다. 톨스토이의 단편 소설 '사람에게는 얼마만큼의 땅이 필요한가'에서 영감을 받아 농부가 차지한 땅과 유사한 크기(193cm * 193 cm)로 캔버스 사이즈를 정하였다. 소설에서 해가 뜨기부터 해가 지기 전까지를 목표로 도전이 시작되었다. 작가는 일필휘지로 약 14시간 정도 거의 쉬지 않고 작업하였다. 벌어진 탐욕의 입을 뜻하는 한국 속어 '아가리 쩌억'은 본 작업의 분위기를 은유한다. Description: The artwork portrays a character with their mouth wide open. Utilizing the method of melting oil bars onto canvas using finger heat, the artist captures the essence of the piece. Drawing inspiration from Tolstoy's short story "How Much Land Does a Man Need?", the canvas size is chosen to mirror the land occupied by a peasant (193cm * 193 cm). The challenge commences from sunrise to sunset, echoing the narrative arc of the novel. This azure blue takes forever to dry! But I’m having fun creating a mini-series with stripes and blocks of colour using this blue. Luckily I can speed up the drying time by adding a little bit of cold wax. Some of the Próiseas family are more popular than others- they don't mind though. Some have left home and some have been able to travel and shine their próiseas light at exhibitions. Some have stayed home...That's what happens when you have a big family- popular kids and not so popular😂 When I was doing this collection, because there ended up being so many, I can see a definite change in style as I worked through them all so each group ended up as a sub- family and here is one. So, more ink, less paint and very definite but simple mark making from the oil bars. All can be seen on my website and available to purchase.
