A garden based picture for spring! 🌸 With all the new growth in the garden my creative instincts are rising and I’m starting to think about painting again! I have a few commissions lined up ready for when I do return; a house and a garden, a landscape, a horse in a landscape and three more horsey ones TBC so if you are hoping to book in for this year get in touch and I can secure you a place. 👩🏼🎨 Booking a commission with me starts simply as an informal chat about what you are hoping for and what I can achieve and then we chat through specifics like size, cost, timeline and delivery. I don’t ask for a deposit but instead confirm your place once I have the photo or photos you would like me to work from, all details have been agreed and you have said you would like to go ahead. I will next be in touch once the painting is nearly finished with a photo and to ask for your thoughts and whether you would like any tweaks. I’ll then send a photo of the final painting post any tweaks and once you have said you are happy I will ask for the full amount to be paid before I pop the painting in the post for you. I deliver around the world and postage and packaging is charged at cost. I generally don’t frame paintings for my clients as I find that a frame has to work with the interior it will be situated in and homes vary so much that I believe framing needs to be chosen on a case by case basis. The frames in the picture are an example of how I choose to frame my own work in case you really would prefer me to take care of this for you. 👻 ghostly prints 👻 This morning we’ve been making a picture of some ghosts. We used some cream paint (I didn’t have white) and toilet roll tubes to stamp ghosts onto the paper. They found it really easy and enjoyed stamping it over and over again. Once it was dry we added some googly eyes. MAGIC PAINTING A different type of book today, I found this in my local @homebargains I thought it would be great for early mark making as it’s mess free and reusable. I swapped the water pen that came with it for some paintbrushes and a small pot of water. We had our first little try at mark-making today with some blue paint. I set up the invitation while the youngest slept. Mr 14-Months was keen and dived right in. Just one colour, a brush with a big easy grip, a sponge and a roller, and of course hands! He used the brush most and pointed to show me the marks he made. Of course Baby woke up so was invited to join too - FYI, 7-months, not ready for painting 😂. A short session was just perfect for our first try. Top tips for painting with young toddlers: pre set a big wet cloth so when they’re done you can help clean up right away; set up on the floor so that they are free to use their whole bodies; keep it simple with only a few choices. #paintingwithbabies #paintingwithtoddlers #markmaking #toddlerart #earlyyearseducation

🇬🇧 It’s Coronation Day! 🤴🏼 What a huge day for both us and your babies. Are you celebrating this weekend? If so what are your plans? 🏰 I drew the Union Jack flag onto card, and using red white and blue, I added paint to a tray and gave Ted building blocks to paint with. Just another simple but affective way of allowing your toddler to get creative, using something other than a paintbrush! 🎨 Once I showed Ted it made circle shapes when you dabbed it, he had a great time copying! 🔴⚪️🔵 Of course he had to see if it tasted nice, so he’s styling out some red lipstick too 👑 I think I’ve mentioned before, but I absolutely love this Ikea high chair for messy play. It’s such a reasonable price to start with, but it doesn’t matter if it gets stained, it can wipe down easily and the best part.. it can go in the dishwasher! 🧼

Für erste Versuche mit Fingerfarbe zu malen und trotzdem sauber zu bleiben eignet sich daher folgende Methode: 1. Ein Blatt Papier wird am Boden mit Klebeband befestigt 2. Fingerfarbe darauf geben - schön ist es auch wenn man zb nur blau und gelb vorgibt und grün daraus als dritte Farbe entstehen lässt (oder rot+blau=lila oder gelb+rot=orange) 3. Mit Frischhaltefolie abdecken und auch diese am Boden mit Klebeband festkleben 4. Nun kann das Kind mit dem Finger über die Folie wischen und die Farbe darunter verteilen. 5. Handprint turkeys TWO ways! 🦃🦃 There are so many turkey crafts out there. SO many. We have done 2 so far. The first one we did with a friend. It is painted handprint tail feathers with a footprint body. J and W each did one, of course! This was actually W's first craft, so yay! Haha such fun. The second one we did at a Children's craft time that our base library had. It was a family handprint turkey. So we traced each of our hands on construction paper and glued them together largest to smallest. The baby's hands are far too small and wiggly to trace, so we traced her foot for the turkey's body. 👣 🧡 Which one is your favorite???

Activity 2: Spider Web Tape Painting. I cut up an old box and taped a spider web onto it. Then I had Tyson paint the cardboard all over with a sponge. Then we let it dry and took off the paint. Tyson loved the activity…and so did Allie. She just started crawling and snuck into all the paints when I was washing Tyson off. She left a path of destruction all the way across the floor haha. ♡ 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 ♡ I can't quite believe this is one of the first times I've done a proper craft with Ottolie (second baby and all that) 🤣 I thought it'd be fun to show you my set up and what we created. Ottolie is 5.5 months so she can sit in a bumbo happily, this is ideal for crafting with babies. I gave her something to hold, with an older baby they could have a snack or a paintbrush to hold. Our house is tiny and anywhere with space to craft has carpet so I pop down a mat to cover the floor and I always have wipes handy for clean up, we use @cheekywipes 💚 I always use @bakerrossltd poster paint 🎨 I think these colours are from the unicorn set. We made some thank you cards to send to family for baby Ottolie gifts (proud of myself for doing this before she reaches 6 months lol). I tend to do a few hand or foot prints at one time so I've got some to hand when I need them. Most babies will have the patience for around 4 before they get bored. I did this at a friend's house with Kade, my oldest, for a play date when he was a little over a year old. • We used vanilla yogurt (or maybe even pudding? 😅🤦🏻♀️ Can't remember but either one works) and just mixed in some food coloring. We put it in a muffin tin, set some paper outside, and gave the kiddos some spoons to "paint" with. • As you can see, the "paint" barely made it onto the paper but they had so much fun exploring the texture, colors, and taste! If you can be outside and prepare for the mess, this is a great sensory experience for little ones.
