학동역 인근 와인바 '더 코너샵' 방문 후기 더 코너샵은 바 좌석 10여개와 테이블 1, 2개 정도의 그리 크지 않은 아담한 와인바이다. 종종 더 코너샵 인스타그램(@the.coner.shop) 스토리에 그날의 글라스 와인이 포스팅되기도 하니 바틀 주문이 부담스러운 사람들에게는 희소식이다(글라스 와인이 매일 있는 것은 아니다). 처음 방문했던 날도 몇 종의 와인들이 글라스로 서빙되고 있었는데 그중 고민 없이 샴페인을 선택(2, 3번째 사진) Clement & Fils, Myosotis Champetre, NV. - 처음 들어보는 RM 생산자의 NV 샴페인. 리저브 와인 비율이 30% 정도 되어서인지 글라스에 따른 색상이 상당히 짙은 금빛. 피노 뫼니에가 메인이 되고 도사주가 꽤 낮은 샴페인이다. 노즈에서는 견과류 같은 산화 뉘앙스가 상당히 강하게 느껴졌고, 배, 청사과, 플레인 요거트 향이 이어졌다. 일반적인 NV 엔트리급 샴페인과는 상당히 다른 개성을 가졌다. 첫 번째 방문 때 바틀로 주문했던 ‘Nicolas Rossignol, Volnay, 2019’는(1번째 사진) 향의 인텐시티가 높으면서도 퓨어한 스타일의 피노누아여서 마음에 들었던 기억. 스파이시한 향이 초반에 좀 느껴지고, 조금 풀리고 나면 체리, 홍차, 플로럴한 뉘앙스가 예쁘게 올라온다. 두 번째 방문했던 날은 글라스로만 2종류(샴페인을 한 잔 추가했던가, 둘이서 총 3, 4잔 마신 것 같다)로 마셔보았는데, 샴페인은 생각보다는 인상이 강하지 않았고, 마랑쥬 샤르도네가 상당히 가성비가 좋았다는 기억. 더 코너샵의 가장 큰 장점은 소매에서는 보기 힘든, 소위 핫한 와인들을 만날 수 있다는 점. 중소 규모 수입사들의 좋은 와인들을 많이 취급하고 있다. 그 외에도 와인에 맞추어 좋은 글라스에 서빙해주시는 점(잘토, 시도니우스, 리델 등)도 강점. 안주는 따로 없고 배달 등으로 외부 음식을 반입할 수 있다. 아 그리고 ‘와인샵 & 바’ 개념이라 와인을 마시지 않고 조금 할인된 가격에 와인을 구매해갈 수도 있다. 집이 조금만 더 가까웠다면 더 자주 방문하고 싶은 와인바. #더코너샵 #학동역와인바 #thecornershop #nicolasrossignol #volnay #clement&fils #champagne #myosotischampetre #domaineregnard #maranges #petitbajan #nuitblanche

Laurent-Perrier's La Cuvée is a newer wine. A retake of the former Brut, it is very similar in style, though with a little less dosage(9g/l from 11g/l). Petit & Bajan is a newer RM(Recoltant-Manipulant, aka Grower). Located in Avize, this small Grower relies on ripe fruit and low dosage. And though in the Côte des Blancs, the majority of vines are located in Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. Obsidienne is a 100% Pinot Noir from Verzenay, this one bottled in 2015. Very aggressive on opening, this wine got better fairly quickly. White and red fruits, pear, quince slight peach as well as raspberries, all just ripe, along with white flowers, some mountain wildflowers, even a touch of dusty roses, white and light pink... This is a very nice champagne though it appears to need a number of years to settle down, at least for my tastes. 쁘띠 에 바장 옵시디언 그랑 크뤼 Petit & Bajan Obsidienne Grand Cru Bottled on July 2016 Disgorgement on June 2022 Dosage 3g/l 샴페인 직구를 하면서 배송비 채울겸 못보던 샴페인을 좀 담아봤다. 부부가 만드는 RM 샴페인이고, 구매하고 나니 아주 최근에 국내에 들어오는것 같다. Our partner Champagne Petit & Bajan, established in 2008, may be a relative newcomer to the scene as a house, however Richard Petit’s family roots in Avize go back centuries, caring for Chardonnay on the chalk soils of the Côte de Blancs, while Véronique Bajan’s clan hails from Pinot Noir terroir in Verzenay, grand cru land on the Montagne de Reims. With a rich, 100% Grand Cru heritage like this, it was natural that the couple would dream of creating wine together; 2 years after their marriage in 1997, Richard took over his family’s winery in Avize, then in 2008, Petit & Bajan was born. The estate’s vineyards are just over 3ha in total, split between the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, with just under 1ha of Chardonnay vines in Avize, Cramant and Oger, and around 2.5ha of Pinot Noir in Verzenay. All vineyards are rated grand cru and are cared for sustainably. Like their neighbour and mentor in Avize, Anselme Selosse, Richard and Véronique start by harvesting perfectly ripe grapes, meaning they are often the last in their village to finish their harvest. Grapes are harvested by hand, and sorted in the fields and cellar. Grapes are pressed in a traditional, upright wooden press in small batches, immediately after harvesting. Juice is settled naturally, and fermented on selected yeasts. Malolactic conversion is allowed. Wines are aged in bottle for a minimum of three years. Champagne OBSIDIENNE BRUT GRAND CRU Prende forma dal Pinot Noir, in purezza, di Verzenay e Verzy lavorato in acciaio inox è anch’esso un millesimato non dichiarato (il 2014). Malolattica svolta, sosta di 60 mesi sui lieviti. Dosaggio che si ripete di tipologia in tipologia: in Extra Brut, anche se definito Brut, con 3 gr/l. Giudiziosa la sosta di 9 mesi post-sboccata in bottiglia prima della vendita (sboccatura giugno 2020). Il commento: Il nome porterebbe a pensare ad una cuvèe “ossidativa” ma si tratta dell’esatto contrario. Il Pinot Noir delle Montagne di Reims trova qui massima esaltazione con i suoi profumi di mela renetta e susina gialla interfacciati da suggestivi richiami minerali quali roccia, gesso e acque termali. Attacco poderoso e potente, contrastato da note saline e sapide. La forza acida è perfettamente integrata in una materia di gran volume e concentrazione.
