Today's #fabricrecipes prompt is #storage - something you can never have enough of where fabric is concerned... And most of my fabric storage is only instagrammable for perhaps five minutes once every 6 months - the rest of the time it is in a state of absolute chaos as boxes are rummaged through regularly, tidy piles are messed up because the piece I need always seems to be at the bottom, and I never see to have (or make?) time to put anything away again tidily (or even at all!) This, however, is a quite tidy corner of my workspace, as it's where I keep my "picture library" I grew up in the days before the Internet, so I was forever snipping pictures out of colour supplements and saving birthday cards, postcards and information booklets - because if you threw them away there was no easy way to find those pictures/information again... Now I wonder if I should clear some of these drawers out and make space for something else??? In Retrospect After finding the Widows Halloween mask a few weeks ago we thought we'd share a couple of old Plazm font catalogues circa 1994-1995. The blue one was our third catalogue, the brown one was our fourth. These pre-date Plazm having our first website. In the 1994 catalog there isn't even an email address. The 1995 catalog has our first email address, which was at aol "you've got email" dot com. These were mailed out to folks who requested them through the magazine. They included a poster on one side and were folded down into a mailing size. Back then we even had a bulk mailing permit! Each catalogue featured new font offerings. The 1994 catalogue showcased @christiankusters Retrospecta font. The poster was designed by @josh_berger_plazm using a John Cage quote beginning with the phrase "In Retrospect." The panel opposite the mailing side featured Rocket Science, a dingbat font designed by @lotusc . Our 1995 catalogue featured @elliotearls typeface Subluxation - the design of this poster was a collaboration between Josh, @nikocourtelis and Pete McCracken. The panel opposite the mailing face featured Widows, a dingbat font designed by @marcus.burlile. The "heavy breathing for your eyes" insert was printed as an addendum and could be added to any mailer, the opposite side featuring a listing of new typefaces.
