Oublié pendant des décennies, il ressurgit à la fin du xxe siècle lorsque des fragments de son ADN sont retrouvés sur un spécimen de musée. Le champ des études d’ADN fossile s’ouvre et, avec lui, le rêve de recréer des espèces disparues. L’histoire des sciences est constellée d’anecdotes et de faits étonnants. À travers eux, Camille Roux-Goupille retrace les découvertes majeures en biologie et en génétique, et questionne les relations de l’Homme avec les autres animaux, ainsi que la conservation des espèces. Après 8 ans je suis retourné... Enfin à moitié, on (moi et @malvin_mra ) fait un grande partie de la galerie de l'évolution, on avait malheureusement 1h30 donc c'était speed, la prochaine fois on aura plus de temps et on verra la galerie de paléontologie et la ménagerie !! Die Wasserwerke am deutschen Bodenseeufer kämpfen gegen die Quagga-Muschel. Laut einer Studie der Uni Konstanz kann die Verbreitung der Muschel im Bodensee nicht mehr aufgehalten werden. Die Quagga-Muschel-Masse pro Quadratmeter würde im Bodensee in den nächsten zwei Jahrzehnten voraussichtlich um das Neun- bis Zwanzigfache zunehmen. Last October, the Idaho State Department of Agriculture discovered #quagga larvae in the #SnakeRiver near Twin Falls. Quagga are an #invasivespecies that, if left unchecked, would wreak havoc on the rivers, streams and water systems of the area. Thanks to the collaborative response of stakeholders throughout the region, led by Director Tewalt and the Department of Ag, #Idaho was able to respond quickly. Today, Governor Brad Little signed into law an appropriation of $6.6 million to help with the effort to support the fight against invasive #quaggamussels. The invasive species response has been, and will continue to be, a #team effort. More work must be done to make sure that the quagga are gone and that Idaho's #water ways remain free of this pest. Make sure to #clean, #drain and #dry any #watercraft to ensure the quagga don't spread. Happy Leap Day! As far as invasive species awareness goes, we feel it appropriate to talk about how quagga and zebra mussels leapt to the United States. Quagga and zebra are native to Eastern Europe, and it is believed that they found their way to the United States through hitchhiking in the ballast tanks of ships travelling to the Great Lakes. These mussels were first detected in the Great Lakes in the mid-1980s and rapidly spread across the country. These invaders have several advantages over our native mussel species that allow them to outcompete them in our native waters. As voracious filter feeders, they quickly remove valuable nutrients that many species depend upon in these ecosystems. Quagga and zebra also pose a threat to recreators by potentially inhabiting watercraft cooling and water systems in turn causing extensive damage. Colonies inhabiting water infrastructure will have significant impacts on our ability to provide water to our communities. The United States spends an estimated $1 billion dollars annually to combat this threat. What can you do? A lot of invasive species tend to look fairly harmless. Take guagga and zebra mussels in Georgian Bay, for example. They spread rapidly, take over surfaces, and completely disrupt the natural ecosystem by altering the food chain and over-filtering the water. Everyone has heard the terms "non-native" and "invasive", and some use them interchangeably. The truth is: all invasives are non-native but not all non-natives are necessarily considered invasive. So, what's the difference? It all boils down to the impact on the ecosystem in which the non-native species are introduced. Non-native bridge into the invasive category when their existence in the ecosystem either starts having a negative effect on the environment or on the humans that depend on the ecosystem. The hard truth is it is nearly impossible to predict the impact an alien species will have on an ecosystem. The effects are not typically measured until the non-native species has established itself in the new environment, and by that time it is commonly impossible to eradicate the new species. This is why in general; it is best to avoid introducing alien species to a new environment. It is in our best interest to make sure we don't have "hitchhikers" when we are venturing into our favorite nature sites. You can help by learning about invasive species threatening your area and take steps to avoid transporting these unwanted hitchhikers. #invasivespecies #quagga #education #recreation #nisaw

В наших условиях организовать производство...нужно быть "о сями пядей во лбу". Главная проблема это Люди! Специалистов единицы, и они заняты, и они дорого стоят! Кроме того, технические возможности очень ограниченны. Для масс-маркета сгодится, но премиум-сегмент требует самых лучших технологий! Приходится каждый день проходить квест и изобретать самолет. В-третьих, Сибирь-далека от цивилизации. Мы сами ничего не производим, надо везти. Везти издалека-долго и дорого. Ждем и платим! В-четвертых, личностные установки. Столько пришлось пересмотреть и поменять внутри себя за 2 года, чтобы не сдаться. Стать независимой от чужого мнения, научиться отпускать людей, искать ответы внутри себя, а не бежать за мнением извне. Пришло понимание, Я и есть - самое компетентное мнение в своем деле, пусть порой и ошибочное! По пути выхода в космос, как у ракеты, приходится скинуть внутренний балласт и научиться доверять Богу. Страшно выходить за привычные рамки, но Он держит, если мы способны слышать Его и посылает нам людей для поддержки и ободрения в самый нужный момент. Потому, главной задачей для меня стал вопрос доверия Богу, т.е.не контроллить, а отпускать, прислушиваться и видеть. Я смотрю с интересом на будущее...Сейчас команда Quagga работает над расширением ассортимента - впереди мужской и женский костюмы, летняя коллекция. Мы постоянно трудимся над улучшением качества и реализацией наших крутых задумок, составляем маркетинговый план и расширяем географию поставок. Теперь я вижу, что 2 года-это ребенок, который только научился ходить, и у которого уже есть понимание куда идти, но еще все впереди!

Apparently it’s world Zebra day. The first two images are of a male zebra that I have bumped into a few times over the last six or seven years. The second image was taken just a couple of months ago in the mara as he stared at a cheetah while moving his family south into the Serengeti. The last image is an interesting one, a baby zebra we saw a few years ago in the @maratriangle which is the closest to a throw back to the #quagga that I have seen.
