Found this #plump #amphibian #hopping around in the #rain #puddles last #night. I believe that this is a #woodhousetoad who has already done fairly well so #early in the #season eating earthworms and early June bugs because he's not the skinny, freshly out of #hibernation, emerging #toad that we usually see around now. Everything has #bloomed and #emerged earlier this year. Seeing numbers of #frogs and toads anywhere is amconsidered the sign of an excellent #ecosystem. I know that we provide a #happy #habitat for #amphibians and #reptiles because we have two #ponds, and lots of #underbrush, as well as lots of #worms and #insects that they can eat basically everywhere. I love #toadsandfrogs, so I have the annoying habit of picking them up to take #portraits of them, as one can see. I always gently rub their bellies and backs - very lightly - so that they calm down, and it's not traumatic for either of us. Fazenda Nossa Senhora da Conceição (Jundiaí - SP) 📷: @Luis Favre A Fazenda Nossa Senhora da Conceição iniciou suas atividades em 1810 com o cultivo de cana-de-açúcar, a qual perdurou até 1850. A partir de então, iniciou-se o cultivo de café na propriedade, que passou a contar com 108 escravos para serem utilizados como mão de obra. A fazenda pertenceu a Francisco José da Conceição, o Barão de Serra Negra, que, no período áureo da cafeicultura, devido sua notoriedade politica e econômica, recebia em suas propriedades pessoas ilustres como o Imperador D Pedro II e sua esposa, a Imperatriz Dona Thereza Cristina e o Conde D´Eu. Em 1882 chegaram alguns pioneiros imigrantes italianos, os quais passaram a trabalhar no cultivo do café juntamente com escravos e morar em colônias existentes na fazenda. Motivados pelo clima na região, implantaram na propriedade o cultivo da uva, criando um novo ciclo após a queda do valor do café na bolsa de Nova York e a consequente crise que levou a falência diversos produtores e pessoas ligadas ao mercado cafeeiro. Com isso a fazenda tornou-se uma das maiores produtoras de uva e vinho no Estado, superando a crise. Mais tarde a nora do Barão – Angelina Conceição introduziu novamente a cultura do café juntamente com outros produtos, garantindo a existência da propriedade até hoje. A fazenda é um registro histórico riquíssimo sobre o oeste paulista, desde a segunda metade do século XIX, com a expansão do café, passando pela substituição da mão-de-obra escrava pela mão-de-obra livre imigrante, e pela decadência do café, Atualmente a fazenda ainda pertence aos descendentes do Barão de Serra Negra e dedicasse ao turismo rural e cultural, resgatando a rica e valorosa história do ciclo do café, da imigração e da escravidão, que são contadas através de construções preservadas e de um acervo repleto de documentos e fotos da época. Rencontre avec le maire et échanges avec Caroline Jouisse, nageuse française qualifiée pour les JO, une journée enrichissante pour notre équipe 𝗧𝗥𝗬𝗕𝗔 . 💪 🌕Au coucher du soleil, TRYBA a également enfilé ses chaussures de marche et sa lampe frontale pour une randonnée nocturne de 14 km ! 於馬達加斯加一個小型自然保護區，頂級捕食者馬島獴被發現捕食極度瀕臨滅絕的冕狐猴。馬島獴屬易危物種，通常捕食囓齒類、鳥類或野豬等較小型的動物。冕狐猴是冕狐猴中體型最大的物種，但由於保護區被農地包圍，棲息地被孤立，近親繁殖削弱了冕狐猴的健康及數量，令牠們更容易成為馬島獴的目標。 Critically endangered diademed sifakas are being hunted by vulnerable fosa, the top predator in a small nature reserve in Madagascar. Fosa usually preys on smaller animals like rodents, birds or wild pigs. The diademed sifaka is the largest sifaka species, but because the nature reserve is surrounded by farmland and became an isolated habitat, inbreeding has weakened the sifaka’s population, and they became easy target for the fosas.
