Many will say, you opened this wine far too early. My response: this wine is ready to be enjoyed, but certainly has a lot of potential and will develop more, polymerising the tannins, and then be even silkier. Happy weekend to all! 2008 Antinori Solaia Tuscany, Italy 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc With wonderful bouquet of blackberry, cherry, cassis, oak, leather, tobacco, mint and vanilla. Full bodied with good structure, depth and complexity, well balanced with well integrated tannin and a long persistent finish. The longer i exposed it to air the more it opens up. Drinking really great now. 2016Chateau Dauzac Margaux, France 79% Cabernet Sauvigno, 21% Merlot With wonderful aromas of blackberry, plum, blackcurrant, earth, oak, cedar, tobacco, mint some smoky notes and spice. Medium to full bodied with good structure and after long aeration it gained more depth and complexity, well balance with smooth tannin and a nice long finish. Still young but really enjoyable now with food. Pauillac flight. 2009 Reserve de la Comtesse is a great second wine. It has the classic 09 fruits and sweetness but contrary to its bigger sister it is approachable now. There are blackcurrant, a hint of bitterness and mahogany wood and a semi long aftertaste. Indeed a nice drink now and should stay like this for the next 5-10 years (90 points). 1989 Mouton Rothschild is a somewhat spicy encounter. There is plenty of crunchy, and spicy fruits and a very fresh smooth layer of seductive and elegant cassis followed by a long peppery aftertaste with lead pencil elements. This wine has put on considerable weight since its release and seems much more solid and classic today. Can be enjoyed now or laid down for further improvements :) (94 points).

With a light purple shine, there are visually no signs of ageing, apart from a little and fine sediment in the bottle. The nose is hugely varied, expressive and complex. Black, and dark fruits, but also leather, cigar box and earthy notes to finish with hints of vanilla and mint/eucalyptus. On the palate, a silky attack with still plenty of fruit and a gentle creaminess. The tannins are definitely present but on the supple side, the acidity is rather subtle. The finish is long and complex. Delicious! 🎖️94/100 👁️ Deep dark red and with a purple hue. Bright and brilliant, no signs of ageing. Little and fine sediment in the bottle. 👃 The first nose is intense, pure and very diverse. Mainly dark and black fruits like cassis, but also notes of black pepper, liquorice and cigar box. After swirling, the nose becomes more expressive and even more varied than before. An enormous layering and complexity of aromas pops out of the glass. I'm talking aromas like dark raspberries, earthy notes and a subtle mix between mint and eucalyptus. 👅 There is a silky and creamy attack that leaves the mouth with a slightly filmy layer. The fruit in the wine is still vibrant and present. In the mid palate, we have a full body, tannins present though very supple and a rather subtle acidity. Fou dimanche soir!! 🍾🍾 Les blancs dominent! Chaque vin à son tour émeut à sa façon. Le champagne est stable comme du roc, super expressif, mais figé comme; ça donne le feeling que c'est pas prêt du tout. On est sur le fruit à noyaux qui s'appuit sur un fond de craie lactée. Assez volumineux et long, y'a une grande continuité du nez à la finale. Malade. @oenopole Le pinot blanc de Rebholz décoiffe et gagne probablement le wotn pour moi. Tellement vivant et dynamique, c'est difficile à saisir, et la tension se lance la balle avec la richesse; incapable de me décider si le vin est sur le spectre du riche ou du tendu. On est sur de l'amande grillée/fumée, du citron vert et du soleil. La tension fend le palais, mais le touché de bouche est enveloppant comme de la crème. Crazy 🤯🤯🤯 @valmonti_vins On enchaîne avec le Vouvray sec du Clos Naudin, sur un registre tellement différent que le Mandelberg. Ici, eau de pêche, lavande et miel blanc; tellement parfumé et frais. Nicely characterised by its high proportion of Merlot and on the other hand structured by the cabernet sauvignon. So yes a very “Pauillac” characterized wine. Let's not forget that the 1989 vintage for Bordeaux is widely considered to be one of the greats. After a mild winter, a wet spring and a very cold April, Bordeaux experienced what was one of the hottest summers since 1949.
