I think I have filled up this 9" square now with running stitch. I really loved having this as a small piece that I could return to again and again throughout the week, no matter the light or the time of day. Just keeping on slow-stitching with running stitch up and down on this @rubystarsociety fabric using @aurifilthread 4667 (a mixture of 28wt and 50wt) with small splashes of bright pink Aurifil 50wt thread thrown in too! Starting to create my box for #roxysjournalofstitcheryvol5. It started out as a Christmas box, I cut off the lid and will re-attach it with some fabric tabs once the top is completed. I am slow stitching the top, backed into wool felt in my usual style. 💕

The Blackbird is finished, painted with inktense pencils and thread sketched, then stitched onto a background of repurposed patches. A number of embroidery stitches have been added for texture - French knots, seed stitch and running stitches.
