My beautiful slimmer Gem 🥰 Gemma is looking incredible and living life to the full after losing over 6 and half stone with me.. I started the process with a BMI of 33. Years of dieting and exercise. Lots of pregnancies and babies. Frustration. Stress. Binge and restrict. Emotional damage over food. I announced it and here it is. My before and after comparison of my wedding dress. ❤️ One photo was taken around my maximum weight of around 140 kg last year. The right photo at my wedding on 19.8. this year with 89.9kg. Simply 50 kg less. I already felt very beautiful and comfortable in this dress last year. ✨300lbs ➡️ 150lbs🦋 One of the most common questions I receive is if I have loose skin… It is a big fear and for many a fear that literally stops them from undergoing this lifesaving procedure. Yes, I have loose skin, but I am so much happier and healthier now than I ever was at 300lbs. You have the same amount of skin as you do when you’re bigger, it just hangs differently is all. But now you can move easier, breathe easier, and live your life easier! It is worth it! My advice on loose skin: It’s going to happen. Your body is not going to look “perfect” after this journey. Even if you have plastics it still isn’t going to look “perfect”. Try not to fixate on a goal body. Focus on building a goal life and getting your body in a place where it can help you live that life. Focus on what your body is capable of and celebrating all it does for you. Work on body acceptance at every stage of the journey. I truly hope that the fear of loose skin does not stop you from doing what you need to get healthy. There is no failure except in no longer trying. Never never never give up 💕 I constantly have to remind myself how far I’ve come with my journey. And as I get closer and closer to the 1 year mark post gastric sleeve surgery, I think about how different my life would be right now had I not made the decision to choose this path. I remember being so scared of sharing this journey and having hesitations for fear that I would be judged but I had to let go of those and allow myself to make my own decisions rather than let myself be influenced by the judgement of others. I knew that it would was beneficial for my future health and happiness and I worked incredibly hard to ensure its success. Had I not, I wouldn’t be where I am today. 🙌🏼 Remember that when making decisions because at the end of the day, no-one has to live with the consequences of them but you ✨ She rocks 🖤 it with her own hard work, She deserves to be appreciated. ✨ 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗳𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝟰 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 ✨ Believe me when I say that I SOBBED when making this photo collage. I cried so much because I know exactly how hard it was to take that first ever photo just over a year ago. It was at the moment of taking that photo that I realised how big I’d gone and I felt like I was trapped inside the body of a 21+ stone monster. I took it and swore to myself that no one would ever see it because I was embarrassed of what I had become and felt so lost at that moment in time. The 2nd photo was taken at the end of February this year, I was about 2 stone down by then and had just had my initial consultation for my surgery and knew that would be the last photo of me in the 19 stone bracket ☺️ Finally that brings us to the last photo, taken this morning. I’m 3 pounds away from hitting 4 stone off in total and 2 stone since surgery 🎉 It’s no secret that I’ve been struggling mentally this past week but putting these photos together has filled me with so much pride. I’ve still got a way to go until goal - but I’ve got the knowledge and tools I need to get me there and I know that I’m making the Daisy from that very 1st photo so proud 🥺💛 She rocks 🖤 it with her own hard work, She deserves to be appreciated. So seeing as we have my in laws here with us I have been trying a few albanian dishes. This is 'tave dheu me mulci' which is a baked liver. We had some mashed potato leftover from last night do I made tuna fish cakes. (Syn free) I used a tin of tuna, mixed with the mash and added an egg. Seasoned it and then coated it in wholemeal breadcrumbs(heb) Fried them off in butter frylight. So who guessed right? If your anything like me and have sooooo many potato peels and no compost bin, you might wonder what you can do with them rather than just chucking them. I watched a video by @emmymade (thank you) where she made a type of potato chip using potato peel. So I tried it and the little people LOVE them. I made 3 bowl fulls and I had to claw this last one away to take a pic. I use a knife to peel potatoes now rather than a peeler. Wash the peels, dry them and then lie them on baking tray sprayed with fry light and add salt and pepper. Bake in a hot oven til crisp and gorgeous. This definitely hit the sweet spot tonight with everyone. It was a filled meringue nest (6 syns) So quick and easy. A lovely sea bass (syn free) roasted in the oven on a bed of lemon, with roasted crispy chickpeas (1.5 syns) and a rice salad (syn free) Crispy chickpeas: drain a tin of chickpeas and dry them in a tea towel. Mix together your spice mix of choice, I used salt, pepper, sweet smoked paprika, onion granules and garlic granules. Put the dry chicken peas into a bowl and add 1/4 tbsp olive oil and your spice mix. Coat evenly and cook in a high oven for about 20 mins. And enjoy.
