Here’s a hack for getting more done and less time. It’s called batching. Batching is when you do all like items together For example, when we bring our treasures home, we batch getting the items listed in our shop. First task is to enter all the new items in our tracking spreadsheet. Then the items often need a little cleaning or polishing. Next step comes photos of all the new items. Then finally, we list them all at once in the shop. Instead of adding one item to the tracker, cleaning, it, photographing it, listing it, and then moving onto the next item, it saves us so much time to do all the same tasks at once Just so you know, you can batch all kinds of tasks. I batch my meal prep by chopping a bunch of veggies at the same time. I batch cleaning by doing all the bathrooms at once all the floors at once all the laundry at once. When I was just out of college I approached the beauty counter in a department store looking for a product. After the sales lady helped me with the product, she said to me ‘if you would like to work here I can introduce you to the manager’. I had not gone into the store about a job, I was not looking for a job, she and I had not talked about a job at all. So, why did she offer me a job at the cosmetics counter? Because I looked the part. I remember getting dressed that morning. I had put on a bright fitted blazer I owned. My hair and makeup were done and I looked like the kind of person who would represent the cosmetics company well. One of the pillars in my program is to elevate your self image and present yourself as the woman who looks and acts like her future self. And even though I was not presenting myself as a cosmetics counter sales woman in an upscale department store, I was presenting myself as a confident self assured person. I’m finding that so many women my age have secret goals - sometimes even secret from themselves - and they need to pursue those goals. The purpose of our lives is to live fully, have dreams and work towards those dreams. Achieving the dreams is not even the point, but realizing and working towards the dreams is. Meet Heidi! She is the youngest sister of the three of us. She ran a successful Chiropractic office for more than 20 years but has recently opened Devine, a dispensary in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. She has a husband who runs the business with her, three amazing kids, a couple of dogs and lovingly helps take care of our mother! Heidi is tireless as she runs her shop, hikes with her dogs, does home projects (she once built her son a skateboard ramp in the yard) and still has energy to entertain our mother by learning and singing old German songs with her. Somehow the three of us all became entrepreneurs. I think the fact that our parents never put any kind of limits on us, helps us believe we can do anything. Today may be tough for you as you may be experiencing Valentine’s Day alone especially after a divorce. I wanted to offer you the message of hope. The picture on the left is my profile picture from the Plenty of Fish dating site. This was 2 years after my divorce. I felt extremely hopeless and didn’t like the fact that after 2 years, I was still single and now having to resort to a dating website. I felt annoyed, worthless, and undesirable. The picture on the right is my wedding day as they finished putting on my fascinator. This was 6 years after that profile picture. I will let my smile tell the story of how I felt on my wedding day and how I still feel today. While I still had a long road ahead of me between those two pictures, I am grateful that I never stopped putting myself out there through dating apps, meetups, and speed dating. I wish I could have told my recently divorced self that it I was going to find joy again as I spent many years in self-doubt. It’s my mission to help women after they experience self-doubt, lack of confidence, and unworthiness after a divorce. I desire them to shorten the recovery phase and experience the restoration phase of experiencing confidence in falling in love again with a human being. There might have been a more direct path, but this worked for me 😉 @jackcanfield_official “One Day of Greatness” in 2018 really was the catalyst for changing my career path. I randomly saw an ad for this event and thought it sounded interesting, so I took a day off work to attend. I had zero expectations of the changed woman I would be after that conference. His teaching made me realize how precious time is, and that we spend about 1/3 of our adult life working, so shouldn’t we be doing something that we enjoy and makes a difference in the world? By the end of this day-long conference, it was clear to me that helping banks avoid risk wasn’t the path I wanted to stay on. I had a vague idea that I wanted to do something in holistic health, but no clue what that was. But from that day forward I told everyone I knew that I would be quitting my corporate job on 3/20/2020 and starting a business in holistic health. Yep, you read that right - 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬… basically the day the US would shut down due to a pandemic. Thankfully I did not know that was coming, and spent 2 years figuring out that I wanted to become a nutritionist and going back to school. I’m so grateful I found the @ntatraining and got the 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 nutrition training available! I’m also grateful I was able to go through their program before 2020 so that I could get all of the hands-on training that was offered at the time. I ended up not quitting my job on 3/20/2020, since it seemed like a dumb time to quit a very secure job. But before the end of 2020, my husband and I were in a financial position where I could quit my corporate job and jump into full-time entrepreneurship. Since then I’ve continued to increase my nutrition knowledge with amazing training from the @nanpofficial & @restorativewellnesssolutions & @testdontguess I would highly recommend all of these organizations if your goal is to be a functional nutritionist as well! Whatever your goal is- I highly recommend 𝗚𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗜𝗧!!! I spent many years after my divorce going through self-doubt, loss of confidence and heartbreak. I spun at times in endless dating and at times moments by myself. At one time, I told my dad that I couldn't find anyone that wanted me. I said,"Dad, I see myself in a cabin in the woods by myself living in Northwest Oregon till I am 85". He thankfully prayed for me and my never-ending loneliness. Shortly thereafter, I was introduced to personal transformation by Gap Community @gap_community where I could see my endless thought spin was not getting me what I wanted...a new happy marriage with a kind man. I did change my scarcity mindset and did some serious work on dating and believing in love. I did meet the kindest man in the world, Dale Frey.
