I have always said that sleep is the most important pillar of health when it comes to finding your fittest, healthiest, happiest version of you; you want to be. How often have you had a bad nights sleep and ended up pushing your workout, lay on the couch watching tv and snacking and grabbing quick easy to make meals? If you’re trying to lose weight, not getting enough sleep can sabotage your efforts. I know that sleep may not be an issue. You go to bed, fall asleep and then your alarm wakes you in the morning but if your weight loss efforts are not producing results, it may be time to examine your sleep habits. We are all unique but most of us need around 7–9 hours of sleep per night. So if weight loss is important to you; the Netflix binge sessions may have to stop.. but how do you do this? Here is the tips I share with ALL my clients: 🛌Put a bedtime routine in place. It doesn’t matter what it looks like, it just has to work for you EVERY EVENING. So don’t make it complicated. ⏰Have a bedtime time in place… if that is 1 hour earlier than what it is now start building it up OVER TIME. Set your alarm to get to bed 10 minutes earlier and start with that. Once that becomes part of your routine shift the time by another 10 minutes and so on until you get to the magic time for you. Once you get to the right amount of sleep for you, you will start to wake without the need for an alarm clock and……. You may find: 🤔You get a good exercise schedule 🤔You have more energy 🤔You may decide to make better food choices 🤔You may snack less And guess what?? That could lead to the weight loss you are desiring 😉 Practice & when you mess up which inevitably you will you just pick up where you left off. How is your sleep?

S E C R E T T O S U C C E S S We live in a society where we have shortcuts for everything. Sorry to break it to you, but there is no real shortcut to achieving success. Everyone’s definition of success differs. And it can be overwhelming to figure out how to achieve your goals. But there are two sure fire things to get you well on your way: 1. Hard work 2. Consistency Show up for yourself by putting in the effort daily. Show up even when you don’t feel your best. Or after you have endured a failure. Small changes over time amount to massive results in the long run. Break down overwhelming tasks into bite-sized pieces, make a schedule and stick to it. Find an accountability partner. My favourite method is the number one system, according to Forbes, called the Full Focus System (and I happen to be a certified trainer). 💪 Engage in physical activities. Any form of exercise can help to alleviate stress and improve mood. Look for a target of at least 150 minutes per week of raising your heart rate into a moderate or vigorous zone. 📚 Read for pleasure. Get lost in a good book to escape the pressures of the business world, even if it's just for a little while. I love to fall asleep reading fiction and giving my mind a place to escape. 💬 Seek professional help. If stress becomes overwhelming, don't hesitate to contact a mental health professional. Over the past couple of days I have had conversations with 4 different women about the scale and how the number is really upsetting them. And this upsets me as it brings back so many memories of how I let the scale dictate my life, my worth and how it made me feel 😢. If you are in your late 30’s onwards I know you know how much importance was put on a number. In my 20’s and 30’s I dreamed of being 8st 7lbs because that meant I was “waif like” instead of “solid”. I thought I would be “more attractive” to men & that I would get “more attention” from men instead of being on the outside and all my friends being chatted up. So like you I spent such a long time being on and off a diet which was gruelling. Gruelling because I gave up all the tasty foods and always felt hungry! Needless to say the being good during the week led to binging all weekend and the weight never changed. But that number on the scale is NOT who you are & shouldn’t dictate that. When I stopped using the scale (I couldn’t tell you how much I weigh now) and let myself believe that there were better indicators that I should use it really helped me. Things like: How my clothes fitted How I felt after a workout Whether I was lifting heavier weights How much energy I had during the day How I could keep up with the kids. How much easier daily tasks were. The women I spoke to over the past few days have: Put on a dress that didn’t fit her summer last year Is lifting heavier than she was summer last year. Is running 5km which she wasn’t doing at Christmas. Ate balanced plates over a holiday when usually she would have let it be a reason to “blow out” and eat what she wants. These changes above are lasting and real. They don’t fluctuate because of hormones, periods, toilet behaviours, salt content of food, stress, sleep! So stop letting the scale dictate and keep following the habits you have created day by day. As a client said to me at the beginning of her journey 12 weeks seems like a lifetime and at the end of it she told me that the 12 weeks just flew! I just finished a 3 day nutrition reset. 💚💛 (I'm just glad it's over! Anti strict diet over here! 😝) The thing is...I see no difference (in fact, my after looks worse IMO) in my before and after picture. And truth be told, I DON'T CARE. One picture does not tell my story. One picture does not dictate how I should feel. I've been on this health and fitness journey for over 4 years and I have learned so much about myself and my body. I am stronger. I am a more positive person. I love moving my body. (Endorphins are real!) I have more energy. I enjoy challenging myself and getting outside of my comfort zone. And I love helping others find consistency. See how none of those have anything to do with how I look? I FEEL amazing. And to me, that's all that matters. S E C R E T T O S U C C E S S We live in a society where we have shortcuts for everything. Sorry to break it to you, but there is no real shortcut to achieving success. Everyone’s definition of success differs. And it can be overwhelming to figure out how to achieve your goals. But there are two sure fire things to get you well on your way: 1. Hard work 2. Consistency Show up for yourself by putting in the effort daily. Show up even when you don’t feel your best. Or after you have endured a failure. Small changes over time amount to massive results in the long run. Break down overwhelming tasks into bite-sized pieces, make a schedule and stick to it. Find an accountability partner. I had someone the other day ask me what I meant when I referred to living an 80/20 lifestyle. This is my 20%. To keep it simple… 80% of the time I eat foods that are nutrient dense and that fuel my body well. 20% of the time I eat and enjoy foods that are delicious and that I love, but they may not love me.😩🤣 (i.e. cause digestion issues, bloating, disturbed sleep, breakouts,etc…) Regardless if I’m following our 30 day or an 80/20 (or sometimes it looks like 70/30) I make it a point to take care of my gut and supplement with our nutrition products. It has just become a lifestyle now. Before Arbonne’s 30 day program, I was on a roller coaster not knowing how I would be feeling from one day to the next. I did NOT know anything about gut health and how it plays a major role in practically every area of our overall health. Our program educated me in so many ways and the food we eat and the foods we omit can either improve our gut health or worsen it. Fast forward to today not only have I experienced a whole new outlook on food, gut health and feeling better than I did in my 20, 30’s and 40s, but I now get to use my experience and education to help others feel good, uncover food sensitivities, and assist them with their journey to healthy living!🙌 By no means am I perfect but my goal/your goal should not be about perfection but more about consistency.
