Eine wichtige Lektion, die ich während des Reisens gelernt habe: Ich brauche kein Make-up um vor die Tür zu gehen! Make-up war in Deutschland mein täglicher Begleiter. Das Schminken gehörte zu meiner Morgenroutine einfach dazu. Doch als die Weltreise anfing, wurde mir in Bangkok ziemlich schnell klar, dass das keinen Sinn mehr macht. Bei 33 grad und extremer Luftfeuchtigkeit war ich durchgehend am schwitzen. Das Make-up hielt einfach nicht. Anfang fühlte ich mich so unwohl ungeschminkt rauszugehen. Mittlerweile ich das zum Glück gar nicht mehr der Fall. Meine Haut ist während des Reisens so unfassbar gut geworden, dass ich diese mit stolz trage. Wenn ich Lust habe, male ich mit mal die Augenbrauen fülliger oder trage etwas Wimperntusche auf. I’m posting this in celebration of Earth Day this past wk. My cousin, Shavonn, was itching to get to the beach so we packed thgs up & headed out at 11’ish☝🏽 She did good! She got to my house early, but we made a couple of stops…McDonalds twice 🙄 We got to the beach at almost sunset…there were so many ppl out on Sat 🏖️ I woke from a nap & this lil seal was lying there. I thought am I dreaming so I go over to investigate & him wasn’t moving so I figured he was restg 😌 His eye was red & when I talked to him, he lifted his head but he didn’t move far😔 I told the girls about it. They said, “U were supposed to roll him bck into the water.” Huh?! Me touch the seal without gloves??! 😯 I’m a germaphobe…Umm no ma’am…I’m just here to look at the seal, not touch it 😒 Leila said when they are in danger they go to shore. ✨RESTING IN MOTHERHOOD ✨ Learning to rest in motherhood is ultimately one of the hardest things for a mother to do in today's world. I say this because as a new and second time mom, I found that there is so much noise coming from the world outside of us. Products we have to buy for our baby or ourselves, classes we have to go to learn, books we should read or methods/theories to look at and so forth. All of these kinds of things are thrown in our faces from pregnancy to birth, to post partum and onwards. Now don't get me wrong, I love learning and making use of the resources available to us but I find there are so few "things" that say you know what - YOU are actually the answer. Yes YOU, the mother, have this innate knowledge and wisdom. You know your baby, their soul, their being more than anyone or anything. Just pause, breathe and listen. So here's to RESTING in motherhood as only when we allow ourselves to just BE, does the core of us come through and takes over so effortlessly and naturally. It's all well and good to get the best stuff for your little one but it's important that without anything, you know you are EVERYTHING your baby needs. Step away from the noise and the bustle of a consumers society and just play. Play with whatever you have, play with your child using your voice, your face, your hands, all the beautiful things mother nature gave us outside and just BE.
