A-ha estrena su nuevo álbum retornando después de 7 años a los lanzamientos discográficos. Su álbum "True North", es la producción de estudio más reciente después del estreno del "Cast in Steel, disco anterior lanzado en el 2015. La banda integrada por Magne Furuholmen, Morten Harket y Paul Waaktaar-Savoy estrena su nuevo disco de 12 temas, incluyendo su reciente single "I'm In", que ya cuenta con un impresionante trabajo audiovisual. "I'm In" tiene un concepto melancólico distinto al estilo 80's , transmitiendo un mensaje optimista con una melodía emotiva acompañada de una orquesta filarmónica agregando grandiosos detalles musicales. This album was my introduction to the fact this band had not only more than one good album but more than one great song! After my buddy played this album for me on cassette, I started digging into Hunting High And Low and gained a deeper appreciation for that album. I also bought Scoundrel Days after listening to this album. By the time East Of The Sun West Of The Moon came out, I knew their first three albums pretty well and was definitely ready for more! A-ha’s “There’s never a forever thing” (1988) is my favorite of all of their great hits. Both the lyric and the melody are amazing. The lyric may suggest that the one singing is actually “deceased”, comforting the alive. I know my interpretation is very different from what’s shown in its official MTV, but as a Buddhist I believe the lyrics wants to show “impermanence”—the core teaching in Buddhism. Let's face it. Times have gotten pretty dark. And it can feel hopeless. But we were built for times like these. Just think back over life. You've been through rough spots, you may have wanted to give up- but something inside of you didn't let that happen. Each time we get through a rough patch and move forward, we forget the pain of what we've been through. It's like when we innocently plant that bulb in the fall with a sheepish dreamy smile on our faces thinking about the beauty of a perfect tulip next spring. We forget there's a whole bunch of dark cold winter nights ahead before it blossoms, yet the minute we see a sprout of green come next spring, the entire nasty winter is erased from our mind. We're all in that cold winter's dark night right now. When times seem hopeless and scary, we've got to remember all the times life knocked us down and we feared the sun would never shine again. Each time life hit you like a tidal wave, you laid face down in the muck wondering which way was up until something deep inside said "stand up". And if you're reading this, clearly you stood up. Chances are, once you did, you stood a little taller and felt a little stronger didn't you? So lay in the muck of this crappy hell hole year for just another minute. Suck in the misery of this wet sand year, and then listen to that voice inside reminding you to stand up. You've got this. You don't have a choice, it's either up and onwards, or lay there in the middle of the muck wondering when the F that spring bulb is going to bloom again and forgetting that the sun will shine once again.
