Per Raúl Pardal 😎 'The Palace' (2023, 100 min.) Una comèdia de Roman Polanski sobre la gran festa de Cap d'Any a un hotel de luxe a Suïssa, amb uns hostes rics i extravagants i l'equip d'aquest palau als Alps per complaure'ls. Una sàtira vulgar com els mateixos personatges, tècnicament brillant i amb un ritme de comèdia ben reeixit. Ambientada en el canvi de mil·lenni: la paranoia de l'efecte 2000, on suposadament els equips informàtics d'arreu el món i el sistema financer col·lapsarien. Bona posada en escena, on la música d'Alexandre Desplat acompanya molt bé les imatges i el to del film. El problema és que hi ha gags que no fan gràcia, d'altres sí. I això és a causa d'un guió amb una bona idea que no es desenvolupa de manera interessant i acaba en un clímax una mica insípid. A parer meu hi ha moments d'humor caduc que no funcionen, perquè ja s'han vist abans, en altres èpoques passades. El Mickey Rourke està perfecte en el seu paper, i aquest cop el seu físic acompanya molt bé al seu personatge. Cares conegudes com les de la Fanny Ardant, John Cleese, Joaquim de Almeida i altres actors alemanys i russos hi apareixen. Una crítica evident als rics corruptes, narcisistes, estúpids... L'última imatge del film és inoblidable, per grotesca. No puc dir que sigui una bona peli, però avorrida no ho és tampoc. Sembla que en Polanski està preparant una nova peli en aquests moments, i que aquesta no serà la seva darrera peli. Potser amb el pas dels anys The Palace serà un film de culte. Veurem... Review : Monsters presented a promising premise with strong cinematography and a storyline reminiscent of Cloverfield. However, as the film progressed, I found myself eagerly anticipating a significant development that never materialized. The initial scene hinted at a thrilling survival narrative akin to Battle: LA and 10 Cloverfield Lane, but the story quickly shifted to the aimless wandering of the main characters through the supposedly perilous infected zone. While there was a moment of intrigue during the creatures' initial attack, it was fleeting and soon gave way to mundane sequences of aimless travel. Despite my hopes for a more engaging experience, Monsters lacked the compelling narrative and action sequences I had anticipated. 🎬 Dans nos salles 🎬 - Nous l’avions découvert en septembre dernier lors du Festival du Cinéma de Deauville où il avait reçu le prix d’Ornano-Valenti. « Rien à perdre » de Delphine Deloget était parvenu à nouer la gorge de plus de 1000 spectateurs qui, comme nous, découvraient avec le cœur battant, l’histoire de cette mère de famille à qui on arrache son petit « crapaud » (son plus jeune fils) après un accident domestique exceptionnel. - Presque documentaire dans son approche, son premier long-métrage poignant permettait à Virginie Efira d’exploiter une nouvelle corde de son arc émotionnel (quelle interprétation !) mais aussi de faire crever l’écran à un Félix Lefebvre décidemment bien étonnant. D’une justesse folle, la rage au corps, ses deux personnages principaux, non sans faille, évoluent durant près de deux heures (qu’on ne voit pas passer) dans des sphère administrative, juridique et sociale dont on connait peu les coulisses mais qui glacent le sang par leur choix protecteur mais aussi terriblement injuste. When she views a new movie by a nortorious director, she begins to believe that it’s leading lady may be her missing sister, which then leads her down a rabbit hole of madness & the fine line between fact & fiction, with deadly results. This small, British movie is big on tension, surreal imagery & a strong performance from Ms. Algar. It’s also a pitch black satire on the hysteria that surrounded the sorry affair & there’s some lovely, creepy nods to that era & plenty of twists to enjoy too. PARTIE DE CAMPAGNE 🏥🎥 Nous sortons aujourd’hui la campagne #faireequipe Nouvelle-Aquitaine du groupe @vivaltosante. 6 mois durant, nous avons eu la chance de découvrir et de filmer celles et ceux qui, souvent dans l’ombre, se battent pour notre santé au quotidien, consolident, et permettent à ce secteur complexe de continuer à proposer une offre de soins ultra transversale. Nous avons donc choisi de les mettre en lumière, sans artifices, en proposant une immersion quasi documentaire dans plusieurs établissements du groupe, avec une carte blanche totale sur l’écriture des textes. Immersion à l’opposé de la mise en scène, à l’opposé du spectaculaire, à l’opposé de la comédie. Cette campagne #faireequipe se décline sous forme d’épisodes aux thématiques poétiques et marquées : le corps, le courage, l’amour, la transmission et la rigueur. Les textes et la réalisation sont signés @rastignac, les images sont de @vicmorisse, le son de @paul_thesound_op_, la voix-off d’ @elsa_perusin, les photographies de d’ @ecsnt, le montage de @marion_rouchaud, l’étalonnage de @____carbone. CRÍTICA “MI HERMANO PEQUEÑO” • • • Años 80. Rose (Annabelle Lengronne) aterriza en París procedente de Costa de Marfil, con sus dos niños, deja otros dos en Abiyán. Viene a Francia con la esperanza de conseguir una vida mejor para ella y sus dos hijos. Por el momento se alojarán en casa de unos familiares y Rose comenzará a trabajar limpiando habitaciones en un hotel. La película nos contará cómo es la vida de esta familia desde muy cerca. La directora nos introduce a través de la cámara en su vida cotidiana, en su intimidad. Vemos a Rose en su trabajo, a los niños en la escuela y vemos frecuentemente a la familia en la cama que comparten en la pequeña habitación del piso de sus familiares. Aunque al principio la película se muestra de una forma muy documental, un tanto anodina, poco a poco el espectador va formando parte de la familia de Rose y se implica y emociona inevitablemente con los personajes, con Rose y sus hijos Ernest y Jean, interpretados magistralmente por todos los actores (en sus diferentes edades a lo largo de 20 años). Poco a poco el filme deja de ser una película social más y cobra niveles de gran cine según se va desarrollando la historia.
