Northumberland Waterfalls If you love waterfalls, then this is the post for you. We have selected our very best favourites that Northumberland has to offer. 1. Linehope Spout We love Linehope Spout. Many amazing memories have been created for us here. It's about a 20-minute walk from where you park the car, or you could combine the visit with a walk in Ingram Valley. We would highly recommend a swim (if you're brave enough)! Of course, the hotel can't recommend jumping off the ledges into the plunge pool. We have never done such a thing! 2. Routin Linn We have never been to Routin Linn, but we have heard great things about it. Let us know in the comments if you have been and think it's a must-visit. 3. Hen Hole If you had your spinach last night and are tackling the Cheviot from College Valley, you will see this stunning waterfall. Climbing the Cheviot took Ben and his sister a lot longer than they thought it would take. They were ready for a strong drink by the time they got back! College Valley - Great Hetha Summit (1125ft) Focusing on Northumberland again with this beautiful walk through College Valley (one of our favourite places to walk) taking on the summit of Great Hetha! This was an amazing walk along the valley, crossing past Cuddystone Hall, and walking up Great Hetha! That 'muckle Cheviot' often gets a bit of a bad wrap when it comes to beautiful walks in Northumberland, but it depends on which way you tackle our regions highest hill. An ancient volcano, formed 390 million years ago, The Cheviot has some wonderful secrets to behold from beautiful waterfalls to WW2 plane wrecks. It was a rather cold 🥶 and breezy day in the Northern Cheviot Hills today, but with some stunning views. Searched out a couple of WW11 aviation crash sites that I hadn't visited before.
