The Iron Claw (2023) Scritto e diretto da Sean Durkin. The Iron Claw racconta trionfi e tragedie dei fratelli Von Erich ossessionati a raggiungere il successo nel mondo del wrestling professionale. La regia di Sean Durkin è fedele, ricercata ed immersiva. C'è un evidente attenzione al periodo storico in cui accadono i fatti, per esempio lo stile televisivo degli show è ricreato nei minimi dettagli dalle interviste alle pubblicità, così come l'intera messa in scena dalle scenografie ai costumi. Durkin è attento ad esaltare i fisici dei personaggi sia dentro che fuori dal ring, il regista riesce a catturare le espressioni sui volti, spesso drammatiche, dei singoli protagonisti. The iron claw non è una storia facile da raccontare senza cadere nel ridicolo ed è per questo che non ha solo idee vincenti, infatti c'è un  qualcosa di onirico nel finale un po cringe. La sceneggiatura è stata scritta dallo stesso Durkin che dovette, addirittura, tagliare delle parti della storia dei fratelli perché erano fin troppo tragiche da rendere la storia al limite del credibile. La storia dei Von Erich è una vera e propria tragedia in totale contrasto con l'ambiente dei lottatori e la cultura americana più indirizzate verso l'epica. Il film mette in risalto diverse tematiche come la competizione tossica americana, in questo caso aggravata da una continua ricerca di approvazione paterna, la famiglia Erich è molto unita, ma è evidente un'effettiva mancanza di affetto da parte dei genitori che, secondo me, non sono sviluppati bene come i figli. Nel cast troviamo Jeremy Allen White che ormai non ne sbaglia mezza nel ruolo del tormentato Kerry, la prova attoriale di Jeremy è commovente. Un Zac Efron che scompare totalmente nel ruolo del protagonista Kevin, l'attore americano si rivela uno dei punti di forza del film regalandoci un'interpretazione incredibile sia dal punto di vista fisico che dal lato emotivo. È presente Lily James nel ruolo della moglie di Kev, Harris Dickinson (Triangle of Sadness) è il fratello Dave e Holt McCallany (Mindhunter) nel ruolo del padre che risulta poco convincente, non intenso come dovrebbe. 2024年劇場鑑賞4本目 【アイアンクロー】 　　 フェミニズムのことをもっと知りたいと思うと同時に、男性が受けている「男らしさを強いられること」についても知りたいと思っていて。 地元での上映は終了してしまったけど、どうしても観たくて梅田まで足を伸ばしました。　　 　　 往年のプロレスラー、フリッツ・フォン・エリックと彼の教えに従ってプロレスの道を選び、世界王者になることを宿命づけられた息子たちの実話をもとにした映画『アイアンクロー』。　　 　　 兄弟みんな優しくていい人で仲良しなのに、あんなに凄惨なことになるなんて‥‥ 男たるものかくあるべし 産まれてからずっと男らしさを押し付けられ生きることのむごたらしさ。　　 自分たちを「息子」としてじゃなく、タイトルを獲るための道具のように思っている父親のことを突き放せない親子の関係性。 　　 父親が違う考え方ができる人だったら。 それに尽きる。 でも、もしかしたら私も「男なら泣くな」って息子に言ったことあるかもしれない。 気づいてないだけで、私にも刷り込まれた男性性あるよなって。 　　 母親も犠牲者だけど、夫からも子どもからも逃げまくって何も守ろうとしない。 そうしないと自分が壊れてしまうから。 逃げる先が宗教というのもあるあるなんだろうか。 　　 とても悲しい物語だけど、人生に寄り添ってくれる人がいることの素晴らしさも描かれていて、 ラストは泣きながらも胸がじわっとあったかくなって微笑みながら観終えることができるとてもいい作品でした。 　　 ザックエフロンはじめ、兄弟役の俳優の鍛え方がえぐい😱 プロレスラーとして全く違和感ないのすごすぎた。 　　 #アイアンクロー #ironclaw #zacefron #jeremyallenwhite #harrisdickinson #stanleysimons #holtmccallany #mauratierney #lilyjames

The plot of this movie is about, “Ella”, who lost her mother to illness and her father in an accident was called “Cinderella” (meaning “Ash Ella”) by her father’s second wife or her stepmother, and her two children, “Drisella” and “Anastasia”, and she was treated like a servant by them. ＊＊＊ アイアンクロー（アメリカ）キノフィルムズ ショーン・ダーキン 2023年　132分　★★★★★ セカンド・ブラザー・シンドローム ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ ＊ 誠実な映画を観ました。なんというか、アメリカンなこの誠実さは久しぶりであります。 小学生のころ、父親に連れられて、弟と新日本やら全日本やらを観に行った。猪木、馬場、長州、藤波、坂口征二。タイガー・ジェット・シンとかアンドレ・ザ・ジャイアントとかマスカラス兄弟とか。でも、早く帰りたかった。わたくしはどちらかといえば家でちまちまと絵を描いたり粘土で塔を作っていることが好きであったのでございます。 おれと違いプロレスにハマった弟に、にいちゃん蠍固めさせて、とか言われたことを思い出し、こんな映画やってるよ、とメッセージしてみたら、、、映画のあらすじそのものの長文が返ってきた。弟は沿線の駅の名前を全部言えるタイプで、いまでも飲んだら昔のことを詳細に細密におれに言う。困ったやつである。 観に行くつもりでなかったこの映画は事実を下敷きにしたものでありますが、プロレスになんら興味なくとも、むしろそちらのほうが見応えがあるのでは。純然たるファミリー・アフェアものでありました。 父はプロレスで、母は信仰で子供たちを護ろうとしたことがまったく反映されることがなかった。アメリカの保守的な土地が舞台、七十年代から八十年代の話である。 五人兄弟であるが、長男は夭逝している。映画での主人公であるザック・エフロン演じる次男のケビン。彼は混じり気のない兄弟思いの人物となり、切ない。 息子たちは生活、生きることのすべてにおいての司令官である父親に従う（イエッサー）。父親の望みが息子らの望みとされるわけで、母はそれに対してなにかを言うことはなく、ケビンが助けを求めると、兄弟で解決しなさいと言う。父も兄弟で解決しろと言う。 ここよりマシと四男と五男は去った。ハリス・ディキンソン演じる三男のデビットについては、弟は「ばあちゃんとこたつに入ってるときニュースで見た」と知っており。父は男は涙を見せるな、母は神を信じるのよと言う。それにしても両親の思いはいかに。同じ喪服を着たくないのと母親は言う。 ケビンは、次男でありながら長男の振る舞いを担わされてきたか。救いは彼の妻となった、呪いも運も信じない、幸運は自分で作るという思考のリリーの存在。転換のような結婚式のシーン、よかった。全般、カメラアングルが控えめであり、それが没入感を誘うようでした。 彼らの体を作る朝飯のベーコン山盛りや肉汁滴るハンバーガーがうまそうでした。食事のシーンは大切。 彼岸を思わせるシーンは素晴らしくよかった。楽しかったころ浮き輪に浮いた兄弟らの川遊び。なにげないシーンをあとに繋げるうまさ。そこここで目頭を熱くさせる。ぼくたちいつも泣いてるよ。泣。 弟に観たよとポスターの画像を送ると「やっぱ似てる人使うんやなあケビンは似てないけど」と三人の役柄を言い当てる。そうなんや。ふっと弟はおれの知らないものを多く見て生きてきたのやとあたりまえのことを思う。まだ観に行ってないようや。早く観に行けよ。飲みに行ったら語られそう。だいたいいつもあいつが喋る。 「木村健吾がケビンとケリーにアイアンクローされまくって悶絶して藤波に助けてもらってばかりの試合思い出すわ笑」今、弟から来たメッセージ。そうかー、ケビンとケリー来てたんや。泣ける。 #アイアンクロー #ショーンダーキン #ザックエフロン #ジェレミーアレンホワイト #ハリスディキンソン #リリージェイムズ #theironclaw #seandurkin #zacefron #jeremyallenwhite #harrisdickinson #lilyjames

I’ll admit I was expecting too much from The Iron Claw, I’m not a wrestling fan and the trailers just seemed to have Zac Efron looking buff and sweaty and wrestling, I was expecting it to be pretty open and shut, I was expecting it to be a very emotional and tragic movie about brotherly love, fatherly pressure and personal tragedy plus it was based on a true story. Honestly it was a brilliant movie that really tugged on my heartstrings and was the first movie I’ve enjoyed with Zac Efron in it. Honestly if you haven’t watched it I’d highly recommend it and it’s still in my Top 5 movies of 2024 so far! The entire cast was superb particular Efron and McCallany, the script and story were spot on and the production design was flawless. What else can I say? With the release of Challengers today, it felt like a great time to visit the sports genre. While I’m not athletically I inclined by any means, I’ve always loved this genre and the inspirational stories it has had to tell. While Challengers doesn’t quite fit that bill, but it is one of the best sports films I’ve seen in recent memory, it ranks among some truly wonderful stories that have featured some of the industries biggest names including Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman, Michael B.
