☆☆☆Review☆☆☆ Die Knochenfrau (Huesera) ist Garza Cerveras verstörendes Regiedebüt aus Lateinamerika und konnte Fans und Kritiker bisher gleichermaßen begeistern. Worum geht's? "Lange hat Valeria zusammen mit Raúl versucht, schwanger zu werden. Als es dann endlich klappt, bricht die Hölle los: Während Freunde und Familie Valeria mit Ratschlägen und Erwartungen zu Leibe rücken, plagen die werdende Mutter grausame Visionen. Die Huesera, eine „Knochenfrau“ aus der mexikanischen Mythologie, scheint sie zu verfolgen und ihr Stück für Stück näherzukommen…" Mutter zu werden kann ganz schön beängstigend sein..so die Schlagzeile! Abgesehen von unseren Hunden kann man mich eher weniger als "Vater" betiteln und als Mann sieht es mit dem Kinderkriegen auch schwierig aus... Nichtsdestotrotz habe ich ein solides Grundverständnis für dieses Thema und viele Aspekte werden hier gut veranschaulicht (Stichwort "Postpartale Depressionen") und auch interessant dargestellt. Mein Problem mit dem Film (der einen durchaus spannenden Mittelteil hat) ist, dass ich hier Horror/Grusel/Monster-Mystery erwartet habe..und dahingehend leider enttäuscht wurde. Es gibt in Valerias Visionen zwar einige verrückte, böse Verrenkungen und üble Knochenbrüche zu bestaunen, aber ansonsten war es das. Irgendwie kommt zum Ende noch ein Oma-Hexenclub mit ins Spiel, aber da hatte der Film mich leider bereits verloren. Auf ein "Drama" mit ein bisschen Hokus-Pokus war ich irgendwie nicht eingestellt..Sonst hätte es vllt 1-2 Punkte mehr gegeben. Fazit: 6/10 Der Film ist nicht schlecht...leider nur nicht das, was ich erwartet habe. Movies 2024 - The Bubble (2022; directed by Judd Apatow) 💩 (The Turd) April Fool’s: One of our modern day great comedy writer/directors takes on moviemaking in the time of COVID. What could go wrong? I’ll be totally honest: I don’t know if this whole movie is as bad as the first 45 minutes are. I kind of checked out at that point. The movie still played and I found myself still looking up at the screen, but my mind wandered so many places as the movie continued for another hour-plus. Why did Pedro Pascal and Karen Gillian agree to this? What has happened to Judd Apatow? Everyone had to have been paid really well to do this, right? I found this thing to be as bad as bad can be, made even worse by all of the talent involved. There are people here who should know better and people here who, while they may not typically have the most discerning picking ability, they really just gave up when it came to choosing this. I want to say, too, that this isn’t the worst movie I have ever seen. Not even by a long shot. It is, however, amongst the most disappointing. With a concept, casting, and production team so promising, this execution is downright depressing.

Ok..Mal ein klassischer Vertreter der Filmkategorie "Don't...xyz" Todesschrei am Telefon (Don't Answer the Phone!) von 1980 ist Robert Hammers einzige Regiearbeit und fährt die gleiche Route wie Fulci's "New York Ripper" oder natürlich Lustig's "Maniac"...bloß wesentlich seichter/lockerer und ohne explizite Gewalt. Wer hier einen beschreibenden Vergleich haben möchte...Bitteschön: "Todesschrei.." wäre Carpenter's "Halloween" und "Maniac" und "NY Ripper" sind dann Rob Zombies "Halloween 2" Es gibt von Beginn an ein absolut klares schwarz/weiß, bzw. "gut und böse" Bild und der Killer (der Würger) ist in der ersten Einstellung schon zu sehen...ihm folgt die Kamera auf seinem Weg durchs Erotik-Milieu und zu seinen stets halbnackten Opfern. Die Polizei braucht mal wieder ein wenig länger um ihm auf die Spur zu kommen und so kann sich der misogyne Zuschauer mit voyeuristischen Tendenzen an diversen Schandtaten des kranken "Würgers" erfreuen... Wie gesagt, roten Lebenssaft gibt's so gut wie gar nicht (abgesehen vom Tod des Bösewichts) und so rau und dreckig wie bei o.e. Filmen ist es ebenso wenig. Praktisch eine glatte, TV taugliche Variante vom "NY Ripper"...nur mit mehr Titten anstatt Splatter😅 Jedenfalls unterhält er ganz ordentlich und ja, den frauenfeindlichen Grundton muss man einfach ignorieren..der Film will einfach unterhalten und keine Sozialstudie sein. Erschreckend LANGWEILIG!!! Helen (Jenny Neumann aus V: Die außerirdischen Besucher kommen, Hell Night) wird als Kind eingeredet, dass sie für den Tod ihrer Mutter verantwortlich ist...gut, das ist vllt nicht ganz so Klug einem Kind sowas zu sagen, aber grundsätzlich war da schon was dran😅 Ein Zeitsprung später befinden wir uns beim Casting für ein Theaterstück und die gute verliebt sich binnen 1Tag in einen Kollegen..bzw. er in sie, sie zickt zuerst rum..2min ca😄 Jedenfalls hat sie dann Visionen und träumt offenbar davon, bzw. ist Zeugin, wie folgendes passiert; Ein Schauspielkollege ist nachts irgendwo allein...jmd zerschlägt Glas.. Eine Hand nimmt eine Scherbe.. Kollege guckt panisch.. Hand hebt Scherbe bedrohlich in die Luft.. Kollege ist im freeze-modus...Scherbe wird schnell in Richtung Kamera und ins off geführt.. Kollege hat irgendwo einen roten Strich aufgemalt bekommen und versucht schmerzverzehrt zu gucken..Schnitt. Szene Ende. Das wiederholt sich dann 5-7x bei unterschiedlichen Personen.😬 (Fairerweise.. beim ersten Mord ist noch ziemlich explizite Nacktheit am Start😱). Von Helens seltsamen Mordvisionen abgesehen, gibt's nur lahmes Gerede und durchwachsenes Schauspiel, was durch die dünne Handlung zur Premiere 1-2Tage später trägt. Late Night with the Devil stars David Dastmalchian as a late night talk show host who is trying to put on a great show before his late night segment gets cancelled when the night goes awry. I am so impressed with this film and surprised that I’ve never seen anything like this done before. It was such a cool concept executed in a very engaging way as the whole film feels like you are watching a tape of an old late night show that had went off the walls in a terrible way. The entire time I just kept thinking “this is so uniquely done” and I had a blast with this film. It was well written and the build up to the final act is interesting and it pays off with a completely bonkers finale with some excellent but foreseeable twists. Dastmalchian gives a solid performance as this charismatic but somewhat mysterious late night show host and you can feel his eagerness to not get the show cancelled. The film itself, while interesting and well written, can definitely feel slow as it takes its time to unravel the story and the plot itself can feel generally predictable in the sense that all the suspicions about some characters are easy to figure out to be true or not, though the conclusion made me have to think about it a little bit, it was still easy to follow which made me feel like I was waiting for something more. Nonetheless, while it felt like there was something missing, this was still such an awesome film with a cool concept that was executed really well and packed with great performances, and a solid final act that delves you into this late night show experience. I went and saw the film "Civil War" this morning. I absolutely loved it! Civil War is a poignant thought-provoking thriller that is as relevant as ever. This film has some of the most choatic anxiety-inducing sequences I've seen in years. It's incredibly intense, visceral, and has some great sound design. The terrific script by director Alex Garland is powerful and really delves into the ambiguous and immoral nature of war. The horrors of it are completely displayed in shocking fashion and goes into the psychological impact of it. It also deals with some very real-life ripped from the headlines topics. It's a real eye opener that takes no sides besides the human side. The film is about a road trip across America with four military journalists on the way to D.C. The film is pensive and heartfelt with how it approaches these broken yet relateable characters who are trying to find that perfect shot. The film is filled with a ominous tension that you can't help but feel mirrors our society. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Cailee Spaeny in phenomenal and absolutely heart-wrenching performances. The film has some fantastic supporting performances from Jesse Plemons, Nick Offerman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jefferson White, and Nelson Lee. The cinematography by Rob Hardy is excellent. The film is expertly edited by Jake Roberts, accompanied by a cool, effective score by Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury. The art direction, set decoration, costume design, and production design is superb. Alex Garland did a brilliant job directing this exhilarating, haunting, and easily one of the most important films in years. Une bataille a fait rage pour revenir sur terre, mais pour la preserver elle est devenue un sanctuaire de la coalition Gaia auquel nul ne peut accéder. Mais un homme refuse de se soumettre aux nouvelles lois, le corsaire de l’espace le plus recherché de l’univers, Albator. . ✨J’étais curieux de découvrir ce film d’animation car depuis l’enfance j’ai souvent entendu parler d’Albator, mais n’étant pas de ma génération, je ne m’y étais jamais intéressé vraiment. On s’envole ici dans l’espace avec des vaisseaux futuristes, de la technologie dernier cri et des lois qui s’étendent à l’univers tout entier. On va suivre le capitaine Albator, le corsaire insoumis, et l’équipage hétéroclite de son vaisseau fantôme l’arcadia dans une lutte contre le système pour la liberté de la terre. Visuellement, je suis partagé entre deux eaux. D’un côté j’ai trouvé les décors absolument magnifiques, mais d’un autre, j’ai trouvé que les personnages manquaient d’expressions visuelles et donc ne dégageaient pas grand chose, un peu comme une longue cinématique de jeu vidéo. . ✨Concernant l’histoire en elle même, je dois avouer que je me suis un peu ennuyé malgré quelques scènes d’action. Peut être que si j’avais connu l’histoire ou retrouvé le héros de mon enfance, la nostalgie aurait pu m’embarqué, mais pour le novice que je suis malheureusement ça m’a laissé sur le banc de touche. . The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, and Rage Against the Machine are Ponant moments in my life! With bands I grew up with and Love. I think this film to be considered the pinnacle of Comic Book movies! It's a cinematic masterpiece that combines unforgettable imagery, an emotionally charged story, and incredible performances! The comic book genre and cinema had never seen anything like this! I want younger audiences to experience this incredible movie! And now we can on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray! Brandon Lee's performance in The Crow is a testament to his immense talent and dedication as an actor. Tragically, he lost his life in a freak accident on set, which makes his portrayal of Eric Draven all the more poignant and powerful. I'm glad that this film got finished, just to see how good he was as an actor. This is a floorless performance for The Crow! This couldn't be fulfilled by anyone else other than Brandon Lee!
