Episode 1 of the recent "Lochaber to the Lakes" adventure is now up on the YouTube channel (link in bio 😉). "Gravel" For the pedantic; strictly speaking this ride was from highland perthshire but it doesn't sound so good, and if ypu watxh the shorter episodes 2 and 3 when they are released, you'll realise that the journey was a large group adventure which did actially start in Fort William, only our bit had to utilise the train from Fort Bill to Rannoch. Anyhow...2 days reversing An Turas Mor in the spring - bit wet, bit muddy, and a lot absolutely amazing, riding with Jess @onegirlonevan and James @highland_tedders from Rannoch Station (and awesome Cafe) south across Glen Lyon, Glen Loin and down Glen Ogle, through the trossachs and down chunks of the Wet Highland Way into the city of Glasgow. Episode 2 when it comes out is called "solo" and follows my ride from the City of Glasgow south on the NCR74 to Lockerbie solo, and then back with James and Jess to get to just outside Annan. Episode 3 is called "tour" and completes the adventure with the rest of the team in peloton on bits of the NCR7 on minor roads through the north East Lake district to Ullswater, and our destination. Absolutely stunning day for a cycle today! I threw Arwen (my bike) into Pen-y (my van) and drove to Aberfoyle to attempt a cycle with *hills*. It was absolutely beautiful but my goodness those hills... I made it up all of the inclines eventually. I did have to stop to regain my breath a few times on the longer hills but the pace on Arran will hopefully allow me to do that? Please? 😅 I obviously looked like I was struggling at one point because someone asked if I was just out for the day and when I said I was training for a charity cycle round Arran in less than two weeks he said I'd left it a bit late! Charming! He accelerated away up the hill when I replied that I knew I was late to the training but I was in hospital for an op when I should have started... hey ho! So tired now... soooooo tired! Queria visitar as Highlands mas como não tinha tempo para alugarmos um carro e ir à descoberta, optamos por uma tour de grupo de 1 dia. 🚙 Como não queríamos uma tour muito longa e sabíamos que ia estar a chover (típico da Escócia 😅), escolhemos a tour "The Kelpies, Loch Lomond e Stirling Castle" da @discoverscotlandtours com partida em Edimburgo. Fomos com um guia muito simpático, Kieran, mas era difícil entender o que ele dizia por causa do sotaque carregado escocês - o que tornou a experiência verdadeiramente escocesa. Thanks @keithh_theoaks for sharing the amazing dish you made with our fresh scallops and prawns. Keith’s recipe: Fry an onion, and asparagus in olive oil, table spoon of butter, tea spoon of ground black pepper and 6 peeled and de headed king prawns per person. Add 4 tablespoons of the frothy water from the pasta and one large cup of Parmesan and ground pink salt as per personal taste. Pan sear the scallops in butter and a little chilli followed by the shell and head on prawns. Drain the pasta and put back into pot, add the sauce from the frying pan, mix and plate. Top off with the seared scallops and shell and head on king prawns. This is one we’re going to try, what about you? We’re back in Strathblane & Blanefeild this Tuesday . Drawing trees today. I’m always out and about in the country, but never really draw stuff I see. I’d like to do more therapeutic stuff of all the nature I like mucking around in. So here’s a drawing of some trees I liked the look of when I was out in Aberfoyle. That said, I love every tree I see. There’s a good bit of imagination laid on top, but I think that’s ok.
