Arado Ar-196 Немецкий гидросамолет разведчик, выпускавшийся с 1938 по 1944 год. Всего изготовлено 530 самолетов. В середине 30-х годов He-60, состоявший на вооружении морской авиации устарел и уже не отвечал современным требованиям. Гидросамолёты во флоте выполняли роль разведчиков и артиллерийских корректировщиков. Самолету было достаточно подняться на один километр, чтобы заметить надводную цель, которая могла плыть вне поле зрения корабля. Поэтому все крупные корабли Германии получили по несколько гидросамолётов Arado, которые запускались с катапульты. Приземление же происходило на воду, с последующим поднятием самолета на тросах. Одно из условий тендера было - установка двигателя BMW-132K на 960 лс. Это двигатель воздушного охлаждения, который является дальнейшим развитием американского Pratt&Whitney. Это важный момент в истории самолета, потому что в 1944 году, советские войска захватили около 20 исправных самолетов в черноморских портах и использовали их до середины 50х годов. И тут очень кстати пришлась история двигателя, по сколько после выработки ресурса, немецкие моторы были без серьёзных доработок заменены советскими АШ-62, которые были также копиями этого же американского двигателя. Из вооружения Ar-196 получил 2х20 мм пушки и 1х7,62 мм пулемёт, такой же пулемёт стоял и для заднего стрелка. На момент появления в 1938 году, такому вооружению могли позавидовать многие истребители, не говоря уже о гидросамолётах. Arado разгонялся до 330 км/ч, по дальности полёта в 800 км и мог нести 100 кг полезной нагрузки. Боевое применение показало высокую эффективность самолета, причём как в воздухе, так и на воде, по сути это была практически Рама для флота. Arado Ar 196A-5 The final production version of the Arado Ar 196 was the A-5, which entered production in 1943. Major changes included new radios and cockpit instruments, switching the rear gun to the much-improved MG 81Z with 2000 rounds of ammunition, changing the cannon type to the MG FF/M with extended 90 round magazines, added armor protection for the pilot and observer and strengthened the airframe. The A-5 also upgraded engine type to BMW 132W. Arado Ar 196 Floatplanes of Seeaufklärungsgruppe 126. Seeaufklärungsgruppe 126 (Sea Reconnaissance Group 126) operated Arado Ar 196 floatplanes from land bases in Greece and Crete. The unit was formed in July 1943 from parts of Aufklärungsgruppe 126 and Seeaufklärungsgruppe 130. The first staffel, 1./SAGr.126, was based in Skaramanga near Athens and operated mainly over the Aegean Sea and the eastern Mediterranean. The second staffel, 2./SAGr.126, was based in Kavala in north-east Greece and operated mainly over the northern Aegean and the Black Sea. The third staffel, 3./SAGr.126 and forth staffel, 4./SAGr.125 were based in Souda Bay in Crete and operated mainly over the central Mediterranean and the Libyan coast. The unit was disbanded in May 1945, shortly before the end of the war. I have great news to share. Recently Weedsrock2 was hosting a giveaway and I won. The prize was the Arado 196 which was from the latest Forumini set, "Dead Reckoning". What a great Xmas present. I took the new planes out for a convoy game. Allied AA was poor and never hit them. Bombed and sank a few auxiliaries and a destroyer before game wrapped up with rest of them finished off by German surface units. Este modelo tiene una historia curiosa porque originalmente no iba a tener partes dañadas, pero cuando intenté arreglar una pieza del fuselaje que estaba torcida, accidentalmente se quemó y para no desperdiciar las demás piezas decidí destruir el avión pero solamente de un lado y que el otro estuviera "intacto". Airfix's 1/72 Ar196A-2 in a 'plain wrapper' scheme, but with a bit of a claim to fame. Attached to the 1st Staffel of the Luftwaffe's Board Reconnaissance Group 196 (1./Bordfliegergruppe 196), that Group was a catch-all one...comprising the aircraft which would be individually assigned to the Kriegsmarine's various surface units to provide aerial reconnaissance and scouting duties. T3+IH (Werk.No.052) was one of the four Arado floatplanes (3 were A-2 models, 1 an A-3) carried aboard the battleship Bismarck on her final epic sortie. Her pilot was Unteroffizier Ernst Lange, her observer Leutenant Günter Lademann. In the fateful early morning of 27 May 1941, on board the already-damaged Bismarck (and anticipating further attacks), the crew tried to launch one of the Arado Ar 196 a/c carrying the ship's war diary, in an attempt to get it to safety. Arado Ar 196 Motor: BMW 132K de 947 Hp Vel.Máxima: 311 km/h Alcance: 1080 km Carga: 2 bombas de 50kg Desde 1933 la Kriegsmarine (rama naval de las fuerzas armadas alemanas) buscaba un avión de observación para embarcar en sus naves, por lo que el Ministerio del Aire Alemán publica un requerimiento para cubrir ésta necesidad. De éste primer pedido surge el biplano Heinkel He60, que fue rápidamente sustituído por el He114, otro biplano, cuyo desempeño no fue mucho mejor que el del anterior. Mientras éstas máquinas eran vendidas al extranjero, el ministerio vuelve a publicar un requerimiento para sustituírlas, en 1936. Ésta vez se ordena el uso de motores BMW 132K (Radiales), debido a la escasez de motores en línea (como el gran Daimler-Benz db 601), y se debían presentar dos prototipos: uno con flotadores dobles y el otro con un solo flotador central, para evaluar su comportamiento en el agua. El Arado Ar 196 surge en respuesta a éste último requerimiento, fue el único monoplano que se presentó al mismo, un detalle que le dió ventaja sobre sus competidores de menores prestaciones. El diseño era bastante simple, un monoplano de ala baja, monomotor y biplaza. Poseía mayor armamento que el resto aunque siguiera siendo lo justo para su rol: la observación. Voló por primera vez en mayo de 1937 causando muy buena impresión frente a las autoridades del ministerio, que solicitaron 4 prototipos para su evaluación. Éstos 4 dieron resultados muy satisfactorios y al final se decidió por producir modelos con flotadores dobles, por mayor estabilidad, a finales del año. Comienzan a ser entregados a la Kriegsmarine en noviembre de 1938. Whats your Favorite thing about the plane and why? The Arado 196 was a shipboard reconnaissance low-wing monoplane thst was used by the Krirgsmarine which was the German Navy during World War 2. The Ar 196 A-3 had a BMW 132K 9-cylinder radial engine which allowed it to reach speeds of 320km/h. It then had 2x20mm MG FFcannond with 60 rounds per gun incase it was engaged. Then 1x7.92mm MG 17 machine gun which had 500 rounds it was mounted by the pilot covering the rear of the aircraft. In some cases it could carry a light payload eith 2xSC50 but normally used for reconnaissance. It had two extra fuel tanks in the pontoons of the plane which allowed to fly long distances. It was loved by pilots who found it handled well in all situations. A notable mission was the capture of HMS Seal which the Ar196 played the part in hunting it down and capturing it. The first Ar196 fell into Allied hands in April 8th 1940 at the dawn of the Norwegian campaign. It was captured by Norwegian marines in the oor of Eide this Ar196 belong to the German Cruiser Admiral Hipper. The other plane was found on an Norwegian airfield towards the end of the war and was kept by the Norwegians as a Liasions aircraft. Have a good day! Any questions let me know! Whats your Favorite thing about the plane and why? The Fairey Swordfish is a biplane torpedo bomber that was used in WW2 it was produced from 1936-1944 with 2,391 units built. The Swordfish MK I had a Bristol Pegasus III M3 9-cylinder radial engine which allowed it to reach speeds of 203km/h. It could carry 1xMk.XII torpedo, 4x250lbs,6x250lbs or 2x250lbs and 2x500lbs. It had one forward facing 7.7mm Vikers E machine gun with 600 rounds in it. Then a rear 7.7mm Vikers K machine gun with 600 rounds in. It had a crew of 3 with one pilot, a gunner and a navigator/gunner. Later use of the Swordfish saw it mounted with centimetric radar which was used for night hunting German midget submarines and saw the sinking of 14 U boats. The Swordfish was one of the main weapons used in the Attack on Mers-eo-Kêbjr, an attack by the Royao Navy against the French Navy in Oran to prevent the French ships from falling inot German hands, many ships were sunk by the Swordfishs as 2 squadrons were used such as the 810 and 820 Naval Air Squadrons. Today I introduce floatplane 🇩🇪Read caption🇩🇪 The Arado Ar 196 was a shipboard reconnaissance low-wing monoplane aircraft built by the German firm of Arado starting in 1936. The next year it was selected as the winner of a design contest and became the standard aircraft of the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) throughout World War 2. The airplane was loved by its pilots, who found that it handled well both in the air and on the water. The Ar 196 prototypes were all delivered in summer 1937, V1 (which flew in May) and V2 with twin floats as A models, and V3 and V4 on a single float as B models. Both versions demonstrated excellent water handling and there seemed to be little to decide, one over the other. Since there was a possibility of the smaller outrigger floats on the B models "digging in", the twin-float A model was ordered into production. This was followed by 20 A-1 production models starting in June 1939, enough to equip the surface fleet. Starting in November, production switched to the heavier land-based A-2 model. The first Arado Ar 196 to fall into allied hands was an example belonging to the German cruiser Admiral Hipper, which was captured in Lyngstad, Eide, by a Norwegian Marinens Flyvebaatfabrikk M.F.11 seaplane of the Trøndelag naval district on 8 April 1940, at the dawn of the Norwegian Campaign. During 1944-45, Soviet forces captured numerous Arados along the Baltic coast of Poland and Germany. At Dassow a spare parts depot was recovered also.
