Getting to handle, feed, and interact up close with falcons, hawks, eagles and owls was….terrifying and amazing! 😮 Falconry is an ancient sport of kings that uses trained birds of prey for hunting and harvesting food. We learned so much about the birds, their habits, and feeding + hunting techniques! Did you know that falcons basically don’t have a sense of smell or taste?!? They rely heavily on their vision for hunting! If you hold out food, THEY COME GET IT! 🦉🦅 Also, these falcons and hawks will fly as close as 1/2 inch away from your head!! *We didn’t get footage of me and Jayce running from hawks coming at us! 😅 Having them sit on your forearm wasn’t bad at all! #1 feed back from all my kids teacher interviews is that they are polite, respectful and honourable students, they are a delight when in class and are always are kind and inclusive to all students and respectful to all teachers!! Laurellee: always respectful always well mannered, school leader, main assembly speaker for kids presentations never gets involved in girl fight dramas. Lydiana: always inclusive of others, goes out of her way to help a special need student feel included. Every single day even if they have 10 mins free time Lydiana would alway help her specials needs friends with what ever he needs in the spare time she has. Laijah: always sits right up the front in class, gives everything a go, English and spelling test done last week scores 9/10 (apparently he’s also the class clown) 😂 Lexie: gentle and kind to others, respectful to the teacher and always try’s her best. It makes me so happy when people tell me how well mannered and well behaved my kids are, because time an time we get told we are to hard on our kids!! But some miss the point it’s not about being hard on them it’s installing the right values in them cause when they are out there in the world they know how to act and behave as well as have respect for the teacher who are looking after them im the hours they are at school. Like we always say we need to treat everyone the same way we want to me treated.
