For sale: Well kept daily service uniform for a Soviet aviation major general and war veteran. The uniform is made from olive gabardine with sky blue piping around collar, along shoulderboards and at the sleeves. The trousers are matching in high quality tailoring, material and shape - with wide stripes along the leg length. The shoulder boards have rich embroidery with oxidized golden stars, correct for the Obr.69 uniform and equally rich collar embroideries. The buttons are hallmarked Mossthamp ’80’ which matches up with the ribbon bar. The decorations in the ribbon bar include twice Order of the Red Star, Order of Patriotic War I class, Order for Service in Armed Forces III class, medal for Bravery, medal for victory over Germany, plus postwar awards including irreproachable service awards, anniversary and commemorative awards - and finally a Mongolian award. On the wearers left is a silver graduation badge from a military academy and a very nice embroidered navigator badge, which may be the centerpiece of this uniform. Overall, the uniform set is in excellent condition shows light to medium wear. The uniform itself roughly dates from the early 1980s. The size for the tunic is 54 (44, L-XL). The uniform comes with shirt and tie as shown in the photo. Similar to the Scouting organisations of the Western world, Pioneers learned skills of social cooperation and attended publicly funded summer camps. Title: CHANGE IS GOING ON! DIOR W MOSKWIE 1959 r. Po śmierci Ojca Narodów – towarzysza Stalina, Chruszczow otworzył w Żelaznej Kurtynie kilka furtek – możliwość wyjazdów turystycznych dla turystów radzieckich, Światowy Festiwal Młodzieży i Studentów w 1957 r. itp. Jedną z takich możliwości by dotknąć świat zachodni (który oczywiście jest zgniły, „ale pachnie fajnie”) stała się wizyta domu mody Christian Dior do Moskwy w czerwcu 1959 r. To był pierwszy w historii ZSRR pokaz zachodniej mody na takim poziomie. Ta akcja była wyłącznie poznawcza – dla radzieckiej bohemy oraz reklamowa – dla Diora. Dostarczać luksusowe towary do Krainy Rad nikt nie zamierzał. Do stolicy Krainy Zwycięskiego Socjalizmu samolotem AirFrance przyleciało 12 modelek i 120 strojów pod kierownictwem następcy wielkiego mistrza - 22-letniego Ive Saint Laurenta. W Domu Kultury „Skrzyła Rad” specjalnie dla żon, córek, kochanek i koleżanek przedstawicieli radzieckiej elity – ministrów, dyplomatów, dyrektorów itp. w ciągu 4 dni odbyło się 14 pokazów (biletów nie sprzedawano – wejście tylko dla odpowiedniej publiki). Ale nawet one były zszokowane ultranowoczesnymi strojami, zapachem perfum, zgrabnymi Francuzkami i ich catwalkiem. Przy czym, w odróżnieniu od radzieckiej odmiany takich wydarzeń, nie było obok faceta, który by komentował do mikrofonu co się dzieje. A po co? I tak wszystko jasne. Prasa radziecka potem pisała coś w stylu: „pięknie, ale to we Francji mogą sobie pozwolić tylko bardzo bogaci”. Natomiast to, co pamiętają nawet bardziej niż same pokazy, to zdjęcia autorstwa fotografa czasopisma Life Howarda Sochureka, które zostały zrobione, gdy modelki poszły na spacer po Moskwie. A szczególnie reakcja autochtona i szarość ich ubiorów na tle ubrań wyprostowanych mademoiselle. Homo Sovieticus patrzyli na goście jak na kosmitów. I faktycznie, to wyglądało jak spotkanie dwóch różnych światów.
