We really never know how an individual is walking their path in life. Even though a majority of us have loved ones around, friends and people that care about us. It’s still can be an overwhelming lonely feeling at times. Especially when you’re facing hardship and uncertainty. The mind can start to wonder and will isolate itself, trick you into thinking you don’t have anyone. Even though your heart knows that is far from the case. Lost a friend yesterday. Many of us did. It was unexpected. He had been facing some health issues and had spoken to me about how lonely and isolated he felt. We had finally connected again after a good 5 years. Spoke often and would try and see each other when we could. Would drive each other nuts sometimes. Would not see eye to eye all the time nor would we understand the decisions each one of us has made over the last 12 years. But there was no judgment between each of us. We had a mutual understanding and love as brothers for each other. Something that will be deeply missed the older I get. I miss my friend. And just want to give him one last hug and kiss on the forehead as I always did. He made me laugh, got my mind off of a bad day or when I was just being down on myself. Would play a lot of pool together and have some luke warm beers at the local spots. Moving forward I’m keeping those fond memories I have at the forefront of my mind and will always carry them in my heart. It’s been a haunting feeling for most of the last 24 hours knowing I just spoke with him a few days ago. So on this Sunday. Hug your loved ones a little tighter when you see them. And if you believe in prayer and faith: please say a few for his two beautiful young men that he absolutely adored and was crazy about. His boys were crazy about him as their daddy also. But also feels funky not knowing as many people •Saturday night, much needed hot tub. Then went the bowling alley, not as many people as I thought would be there but still a great time •Sunday weather was WAY better!! •Helped embarrass the heck out of @berquistdave for his birthday, while taking photos of his first time drifting! •new plastic barriers were put in both tracks cause you guys drift drop too much and they’re in the way of like the best photo spots. So knock it off. •Goal this season: Introduce myself to the new faces. Last night we had our final chapter of the semester. It was a chance to get together and recap both the incredible year we’ve had and the tough times we endured together. Seniors had a chance to pass along some advice and tell some stories from their time here at TCU before they head off on their own journeys and Sam Romair was voted Brother of the Year.
