I hardly train the abs because.... I'm a mother. π that leaves me limited time (if any) for workout. For those who understand the NEED to workout, it is terribly frustrating when you can't do it to the intensity or duration needed. I don't know how else to put it but it kills me. π But I have since learnt to accept the fact that NONE of my workouts are gonna be as planned and really be thankful that I still am able to get my workout done even if it is just 10 minutes. (20 minutes is really a bonus these days as the lil one clings on to me as though Armageddon is coming. π So yeap, not the kinda workout I have in mind, not the desired intensity nor duration, but guess what? I am still consistent in showing up! And that's waaaaay better than making all sorts of excuses that I can't do it.

We want our babes to move WITH us, not independently to the wearer. Any slack or loose fabric allows baby to slump down which can hinder their breathing and pull on the wearerβs back, and also can be a falls risk. π I = IN VIEW AT ALL TIMES We want to be able to see our babies face at all times so we can easily monitor breathing + airways, and respond to any feeding or distress cues. π C = CLOSE ENOUGH TO KISS Aim to have baby high enough to easily kiss the top of their head with a slight head tilt forward. If the wearer has to extend their neck down, itβs too low. Having our babies up high is also more ergonomic for the wearer. π K = KEEP CHIN OFF CHEST Ensure babyβs chin is up and away from their body. We want to avoid babies being curled as this forces their chin to chest, restricts the airways and the ability to breathe. Itβs important to check regularly, especially when they fall asleep as they will naturally slump more. π S = SUPPORTED BACK Babyβs back should be firmly supported in a natural position with their tummy and chest against you. We always want to carry babies in an upright position. Slumping can affect their airways and ability to breathe. Sharing some snippets of yesterday's Zoom class! This class is a progression from our first but with a lil more emphasis to our lower body, namely the glutes and quads. And as always, the exercises are designed in a way that works all planes of motion of our body, making it a functional exercise. You can definitely try this no equipment workout at home!!! Time each exercise for 40 seconds, with 20 seconds rest between each exercise. Try 3 to 4 sets if you can!! And I'm gonna leave u with my favourite line. What to expect in Baby Wearing Barre - Thursdays 10:30-11:20 Class meets for 50 minutes, but youβll be active for closer to 40 minutes to allow time for the babies to be babies and cause something to go off plan. The workout is designed for baby to be in your carrier the whole time, but welcome to lay on your mat if they prefer! With baby in a carrier we wonβt do any traditional core exercises but you will work your deep core by focusing on your posture as we move through class. Interested in trying it out?
