Il mio piano è andare alla ricerca di queste soluzioni per creare una visione diversa del futuro per nostra figlia”. Questo è l’incipit del documentario di Damon Gameau. Questo è l’augurio che ognuno di noi rivolge a se stesso ed alle generazioni future. Questo è, soprattutto, la conseguenza dell’amore che un padre nutre per la propria figlia. Интересно, что этот фильм я уже смотрела несколько лет назад и даже писала отзыв. В то время он, скажем так, капнул мне на мозг, но основная суть происходящего дошла только после второго просмотра. Может, сейчас я менее категорична, может фильм совпал с моими собственными мыслями. В любом случае вывода два: я старею, а фильм несет очень здравый смысл. Повествование крутится вокруг автора, который решил поставить эксперимент на себе: на протяжении определенного времени парень каждый день будет употреблять среднестатестическое количество сахара. Причем, это будут продукты, которые являются «полезными» в общем понимании. Сразу скажу, что любой подобный фильм стоит смотреть через призму нескольких пониманий: речь идет про другую страну и никогда не стоит радикально подходить к глобальным вопросам, например, связанным с питанием. Естественно, если вы думаете перед тем, как что-то кладете себе в тарелку и понимаете причинно-следственную связь между «что я делаю» и «что я получаю», фильм вас не шокирует. Здесь важно другое - если вы действительно хотите поменять свою жизнь, то сейчас я подсказываю вам, где взять для этого знак, не дожидаясь ближайшего понедельника. С момента просмотра фильма прошла неделя, за которую я на чистом энтузиазме без дерганья себя за руки пересмотрела свое питание. Честно, если не брать свое приподнятое настроение от того, какая я молодец, мое тело как будто выдохнуло. И это я говорю с учетом того, что всегда при возможности заменяю продукты на безлактозные и периодически месяца не ем продукты, содержащие белый сахар. Дабы не углубляться дальше в эту огромную и местами спорную тему я просто еще раз скажу, что с удовольствием советую фильм, даже если вы совсем недавно попивали газировку и уже прикупили пакетик чипсов на вечер. «Сахар»

An absolutely amazing human being working to improve the world we live in and with a view to helping us all live healthier, happier, more connected and enriched lives 🙏❤️ After breathwork, we were treated to a powerful interview between Gary and his guest, Actor, Director and Producer @damon.gameau who spoke about his past documentaries #2040film, #thatsugarfilm and an exciting project he's just filmed and currently editing which I can't wait to see. Damon is a phenomenal thought leader who had us captivated with his stories, reflections and thoughts on life, the environment, the future and the kids of today. Im going to be 100% transparent. I have (on many occasions) laid wide awake or had conversations with Israel (my hubby) about WTAF have we done bringing kids into this world? It's just so unfair they are having to deal with years of inaction on the climate front, and the raft of issues it’s creating. On Thursday I joined a live stream panel hosted by @damon.gameau (That Sugar Film, 2040) on the topic of What Is Regeneration? It was an amazing session that instilled me with hope that there is a way out of this. It requires us to reconnect to the land, to love and revere it, not dominate it. During this live stream, Damon screened a 5 minute documentary called What Is Regeneration? ❤️it was AH-MAZING!❤️ I feel it's a must watch for every family - particularly if you have kids, like ours, who have also expressed concern about the world they have been handed. This is a calling for us all. It's about putting life at the centre of every act and decision. Damon asked Paul Hawken (Author and Environmentalist), what is the single biggest thing that would make a difference to the climate issues facing the world. I have no idea how yet but I'm definitely turning my life / crazy family story and overall mission in general into a movie, reality TV show, TV series, documentary etc one day soon, like how these amazing people have helped others do. Just need to learn how to get sponsors or raise the money. My dream for a while now has been that @tarantinoxx Quintin Tarantino's last movie will be mine and @damon.gameau Damon Gameau will produce a documentary or docu-series for me. I am in total awe of their work. It resonates deeply in my being. A film maker I helped out once promised me this year's ago but hasn't came through yet ... probably when I'm famous he will come knocking ... it will be too late then coz now I'm picking and choosing who I want to work with - those who genuinely want a better world and know it takes collaboration and unity, not seperation, competition and division to achieve that. Haven't heard back from @betablox @casscregg yet about what's happening with the show, as I was not able to attend last week as planned due to someone trying to kill me etc, which was meant to be how I was going to learn how to raise capital, get investors and secure sponsorships and donations with consistency. I need tens - hundreds of millions of dollars to produce even just one of my ideas, let alone all of them. Coming from a low socio-economic background but being mistaken as white privilege is a pain in the ass for a neurodiverse person who was abused and neglected her whole life unknowingly programmed to internalize her feelings and problems and act like a machine, but who is actively working on deprogramming herself and expressing her entire multiple she/he/they self as authentically as the energy allows her to feel emotionally safe. It was an inspiring film, depicting what Australia could look like by 2029 if the Australian voices were heard and acted upon. Global natural disaster and bushfire expert Greg Mullins @theclimatecouncil shared frightening personal experience witnessing the disastrous changes to mother nature in his lifetime fighting bush fire. Lynette Mayne director of Chief Executive Women shared the extensiveness of corporate opportunities for change, a leader for CEO’s. Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins shared inspiring personal commitment to ongoing action he has already pioneered in Cricket for Climate, and a call to action to the sports industry. Meanwhile generational assumptions were challenged, climate justice highlighted, and the gap of time was closed, with panellist’s former Australian cricket captain and old skool sports legend Ian Chappell having a yarn with younger mob Tish King and youth climate activists Grace Vegesanar and former netballer, heat induced near death survivor Amy Steele … connecting over the shared experience of a climate disaster we are all facing. It was impressive to hear the passion for change of such a large industry in Australia, and the influential voice these players have to inspire and influence others to do so. It offers more hope for the changes we all need to make for our futures.

💛 ‘Kahnversations’ is a breakfast event I curate and host that bring together interesting people for interesting discussions of hope, optimism and possibility concerning our planet. Today, at our second ‘Kahnversations’, we were graced with the wisdom and expertise of @damon.gameau and @anikamolesworth. From a young age, both Anika and Damon were close to nature. Growing up on farms, the magic of creeks, yabbies and connection to place was a shining feature in their lives. When it comes to difficult conversations on climate change, both Damon and Anika agree that we need compassion to support all people in transitioning to more sustainable habits by highlighting the opportunities at our disposal. We must listen to all sides - as frustrating as this may feel at times - with open ears and minds, appreciating that we’re all in this together. Although the reality is that we’re not doing well enough for the planet, there are so many reasons for hope. One such reason is that our own kids are asking all the right questions! This is so important. For the rest of us - we all have a sphere of influence and it’s imperative that we tap into it. Find whatever it is that lights you up and go for it. Social change happens when there’s enough momentum. Our small actions at home well and truly add up, creating a tidal wave of movement. The movie entertainingly discusses the foreseen effects of climate change over the next 2 decades and what (currently existing as in ‘already available’ or ‘having realistic potential’) technologies can possibly do to reverse the effects of climate change timely (by 2040). The footage, partly created by impressive visual effects, is accessible, informative and offers an unusually optimistic way forward. This ‘vision board’ contains interviews with numerous academics, ecological experts and entrepreneurs and shows us an ‘imagined future’ where climate change has been solved, it’s structured as a letter to the director’s daughter whereby he travels around the world and investigates numerous solutions that can contribute towards this if they’re implemented at a large enough scale.
