Slam Poetry - umění, kdy performer stojí na jevišti sám, bez rekvizit, bez kostýmu a publiku "předává" svůj vlastní text ve snaze zaujmout, občas povabit nebo se zamyslet nad nějakým tématem. Zároveň je vše bráno jako soutěž a vystupující jsou hodnoceni odbornou porotou. A na takovou Slam poetry exhibici jsme se vydali s 25 žáky z 8. a 9. tříd ve čtvrtek 25.4. I když pro většinu žáků to byla premiéra, myslím, že jsme si to všichni užili. I've been a fan of @andreagibson (Colorado's Poet Laureate) for many years now, but it wasn't until last week's @literaryarts Poetry Slam that I was inspired to FINALLY order one of Gibson's books. Honestly, I don't know why it's taken me so long. I bought this book for DJ, the next writer in our family, but soaked it in today while she was out of the house! If you appreciate slam poetry and spoken word, and beautiful writing about love and death and LIFE (so.much.life) and all the important things in between - go and buy their book. Here's what you need to know about this month's @guilder_pdx feature: RJ Equality Ingram lives next to a cemetery in Portland, Oregon & works as a used bookseller for Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette. RJ received their MFA in creative writing from Saint Mary's College of California & their BFA from Bowling Green State University. Recent work can be found in Deep Overstock, Miniskirt Magazine, The Citron Review, & Phoebe Journal. RJ’s poetry has also been featured in The Poet Heroic podcast & Talking Earth on KBOO.
