Korsika GR20 192,5 km: +12388 m, - 11623 m Přechod Korsiky GR20 je považován za nejtěžší v Evropě. Pokud zvažujete jít tento přechod, určitě počítejte každý gram. Jídlo berte jen to nejnutnější nebo na co jste zvyklí. Refuge (místní horské chaty) jsou dobře vybaveny a dá se vše dokoupit, tedy pokud nejste vegan 😀 To si pak vše musíte vzít s sebou nebo si každý večer koupit těstoviny a uvařit. Zvolte kvalitní obuv. Severní část je hodně náročná a kamenitá, cítíte každý krok a boty dostanou zabrat. Byl jsem rád, že mi boty vydržely do konce a nerozpadly se 😊 Myslete i na vodu, je dobré mít u sebe minimálně 2,5 l vody. Po zimě věřím, že je více možností potkat přírodní prameny. Já šel na konci srpna a byly dny, kdy jsem nepotkal jediný pramen. Pokud rádi chodíte po horách se svými mazlíčky, tady bych je nechal radši doma. Potkal jsem pár lidí se psy a nechápal jsem, jak některé části dokázali překonat. Pečlivě sledujte značení, pokud neuvidíte značku cca 20 m, zastavte se a hledejte 😊 Věřte mi, že zabloudit nebo jít pár km navíc nechcete 😊 Hlavně potřebujete mít nachozeno a pevnou vůli. Několikrát jsem zvažoval a přemýšlel, že skončím, ale nikdy mi to nedalo, a pokračoval jsem dál. A na konci ze mě vše spadlo a byl jsem moc rád, že jsem zvládl nejtěžší trek v Evropě. Obvykle se GR20 chodí 15 až 16 dnů. Já šel 13 dní a z toho jsem jeden den proseděl na chatě kvůli počasí. Celkem jsem ušel cca přes 200km s převýšením cca +12388 m a –11623 m. GR20 - JIH Vizzavona - Conca 91,6 km: + 4430 m, - 5101 m Byl devátý den a čekala mě druhá polovina GR20, jižní část. Vše už vypadalo dobře až na počasí, které se mělo zhoršit. Desátý den přišla bouřka, bohužel jsem si nemohl zkontrolovat předpověď na mobilu a ráno jsem vyrazil. Bouřka mě zastihla pod hřebenem, ale kousek odtud byla chata, kam jsem zamířil. Postupně déšť i vítr zesiloval a na chatu jsem přišel promrzlý a hotový. Zůstal jsem tam až do druhého dne. Nikdy jsem nezažil horší bouřku a tak silný vítr, který roztrhal všechny stany okolo chaty. Další den bylo počasí lepší, ale věděl jsem, že se během dne zhorší, tak jsem vyrazil první z chaty, abych se dostal na další chatu Refuged’Usciolu včas. Na hřebeni to bylo velmi nepříjemné, ale nějak jsem přešel a byl jsem rád, že to mám za sebou. Předpověď na další dny už se zlepšovala a rozhodl jsem se, že dvanáctý den dám delší přechod s riskem bouřky, a další den spojím dvě etapy. Vše vyšlo, jak jsem naplánoval, bouřka nepřišla, a poslední den bylo už nádherně. Health and fitness post... After doing the most difficult terrain at the ocean front, walking up and down the cliffs on slippery slopes, I managed to make it back alive . It was a hard 2 hour walk at least, and the last picture shows the amount of sweating from my body at the end of it. Nice way to strip fit.👌🏿 Mind you beside this, just walking down to the ocean from my mate Peter's house is a very steep track down hill, and I do this up and down at least 5 to 6 times a day. In addition to that I begin at 6am every day with yoga for 2 hours. Most people don't know this about me because most times my posts on social media only show the fun side of me. GR20 sever Calvi – Calenzana – Vizzavona 100,9km – +7958m, -6522m V sobotu 19. 8. jsem vyrazil na GR20 s určitou představou, která se rychle rozplynula. První čtyři dny to bylo peklo. Převýšení a délky denních etap jsem měl zjištěny, ale nejvíce mě překvapil terén. Nešlo se po cestách, ale po kamenech, místy byly ferratové a skoro horolezecké části. Lezl jsem za pomocí řetězů, po čtyřech, hledal jsem úchyty jako horolezec a vše s 20 kilovým batohem na zádech. Váhu batohu nejvíce dělalo jídlo, které jsem musel mít svoje. Zpětně bych jídlo řešil jinak, ale čas nevrátíme 🙂 První čtyři dny mi vzaly hodně fyzických i psychických sil. Bylo těžké jít sám a nemít si s kým popovídat. Francouzsky jsem neznal ani slovo a občas jsem prohodil něco anglicky s pár lidmi. Signál jsem chytl až třetí den a bylo skvělé si zavolat domů a dát vědět, že jsem v pohodě. Vědomí, že na mě Kája @blond_kralik a moji blízcí myslí, mi dodávalo síly a motivaci pokračovat dále. Pátý den už se zlepšil trochu terén a krajina byla více do zelena. I nohy si vzpomněly na dril, který jsem jim dopřával před operací kolene, tak se šlo mnohem lépe. Střídaly se hory, lesy, louky i vodopády. Měl jsem i čas na ledové koupele v řekách 🌊 Osmý den jsem zakončil ve městě Vizzavona, kde se GR20 rozděluje na sever a jich. Někdo tady končí, někdo začíná, a buď jde na sever nebo na jih. Občas mě také napadaly myšlenky, jestli to neskončit tady, ale nakonec jsem rozhodl pokračovat na jih a dokončit GR20. One of a series of works which focus on Tasmanian threatened plants I have completed for "Difficult Terrain: Contemporary Tasmanian Jewellery". On now at Rosny Schoolhouse Gallery until September 24th. This brooch was manufactured entirely by hand. The rock surface was textured with a piece of local dolerite material and layered with fused 18 carat yellow gold dust (lichen). The cushion plant itself features of 130 hand carved and individually soldered rosettes along with three tiny flowers. The rock surface is finihsed with a scatter of Australian parti sapphires (moss). The back of the piece features more rock texture and hand engraving (roots). National Threatened Species Day: September 7th // Kings Lomatia/Kings Holly [Lomatia Tasmanica: Critically Endangered]: Brooch/Object This piece is entirely hand made in response to a botanical specimen of 'Lomatia Tasmanica' from the vault at the Tasmanian Herbarium. Each leaf was hand cut, shaped and engraved in .5mm sterling silver before being soldered to the shaped stem. It is manufactured to scale and intentionally flat - mimicking the pressed and dried specimen rather than the natural growth habit (stay tuned for my next version). Repetition // Carved and engraved textures are crucial in this stem of Pencil Pine (Athrotaxis cupressoides - which is classified as a Vunerable species, in decline). Sneak peek! Covered in flux and scale from soldering, but I'm really happy with this piece. Made as a scale replica of a piece of preserved foliage from the Tasmanian Herbarium, it's flat, whilst being very fine, and detailed. It also is looking much less crusty now that it's clean and finished. I'm planning on tackling the growth habit along with multiple stems and flowers for the next version of this amazing ancient, endemic plant. Stay tuned! Morrisby's Gum // Eucalyptus morrisbyi. An endemic species of Tasmanian eucalyptus, which is currently listed as endangered. This large, specimen style brooch, hand formed and hand engraved in sterling silver with a soft brushed finish, is a scale interpretation of the juvenile foliage. Yours truly had to climb a fence today. The nearby track has two entrances/exits. Usually both are open. I walked through one intending to exit out of the other on the opposite side. Unfortunately, it was locked 🙃. My options: 1) Walk all the way back AND around (longer approach) 2) Climb the fence The big chicken teen me would have walked back. The older me saw an opportunity to test myself again. Second gate conquered!
