Here’s a fun tip if you want to mail your Christmas cards from Disneyland! Years ago I sent our Christmas cards 🎄💌 from Disneyland, but wish I’d known one little detail! You can put mail 📩 in any of the mailboxes you see around the parks! 📭 But they are NOT postmarked from Disneyland like they used to be. But don’t worry if you would like to have them hand stamped from Disneyland you’re in luck! You can go to City Hall and they will hand stamp them for you. 📧 Swipe to photo #2 to see the stamp. At 7 am, make the first Genie+ selection for Tower of Terror. ✨Arrive to the park 1/2 hour to 1 hour before Early Entry begins, via a pleasant ride on the Skyliner. ✨Rope Drop Slinky Dog Dash as a family ✨Take advantage of Early Entry and try to ride another headliner before the general crowds arrive ✨Enjoy the big band music, the old Hollywood vibes, and using Genie+ to feel pretty chill about what you can get done ✨Continue making Genie+ selections as you are able, using Rider Switch if needed on the big rides. On this tortuous day 2 years ago, April 30, 2021 I stood outside the gates as California residents were welcomed back to the Disneyland Resort! But this Arizona🌵girl couldn’t go in yet! Despite the disappointment my day was made thanks to a little MAGIC from my dear friend Gavin @mickeyvisit! He had no idea I’d be in the Esplanade as he park hopped from DCA to Disneyland carrying his hot link corn dog from Award Weiners. Without hesitation the first thing out of his mouth was, DO YOU WANT THIS CORN DOG? Swipe to see the video! I about cried not only because he was offering but it was pure Disney Magic at its finest! Thanks to Early Park Entry, we were able to bypass the regular line and enjoy the park with very low crowds! We absolutely love Cars Land 🚘 Don't worry, this area has something for everyone! Don't forget to pack your water bottles and your patience on your next Disney park day! On our most recent trip I packed electrolyte tabs too and that really helped. The Disney parks are crowded in the summer, especially this summer now that everyone is back to traveling, and the queues often do not have shade. Tell me in the comments if you would consider using Genie+ on your Hollywood Studios day! At Hollywood Studios, did you know Genie+ can actually save you more time on a low crowd day compared to a high crowd day? It's a unique pattern compared to the other WDW parks, where Genie+ is more valuable when crowd levels are higher. A counter-intuitive bit of info that could lead to better decision making. We stayed at the Grand Legacy at the Park. 2/5. As much as it pains me because I like to be positive, we would not recommend it. The only things it had going for it were this mural and it’s close proximity to the gates. Other than that, it was basically an over-priced motel. 🎶 There is a restaurant upstairs that is supposed to be pretty good but they played LOUD music until 11:00 each night. Not good for kids. Not good for anyone trying to sleep. 😩 The rooms were mostly clean but definitely in need of some TLC and repairs 🌴 The pool looked way nicer on the site. And the kids “water park”… just an afterthought throw in on the cement pad surrounding the pool. Didn’t even draw more than 30 seconds of our kids attention. For this trip, we were looking for a close-to-the-parks place to sleep. We got that much at least. Relax and Recharge, just like Mickey says. This is always my goal on a Disney trip. Yes, a day at the parks can be long. Especially if you rope drop and close the park. But if you’re overall trip doesn’t include some relaxation, and if you don’t leave recharged, I think you’re doing it wrong. Here’s some things we did this weekend that helped us relax and recharge: 🏨 Stay as close to the resort as possible. No driving in SoCal traffic! 🍽 Eat at the Resort as much as possible. Staying in the bubble keeps the magic going and Downtown Disney has a lot to offer. 💵 Stick to a budget so you don’t stress yourself out! 🌴 Take a “resort day” to enjoy your stay and the pool and the ambience. Ya it costs an extra night to add on a day where you do t go to the parks, but this is important for feeling recharged at the end of your vacay! 🎡 Ok, this one isn’t for everyone. But we like to take the parks a land at a time. Skipping all over from ride to ride leaves us feeling frantic. Enjoy the land before moving on. Notice the design and music and sounds and smells. Eat a meal or get a snack. Hit the shops. Soak it all in and take your time. This isn’t just a theme park. It’s the original Magic Kingdom!! Even the trash cans are on theme in each area. 🏡 Have you ever seen Patrick’s house where the Little Man of Disneyland lives? ☘️ 💚 St. Patrick’s Day is coming soon and I wanted to share this fun hidden gem at Disneyland. 🍀Over in Adventureland before you enter the queue for Indiana Jones look at the roots of the big tree 🌳 to your right. It’s the tree that holds the square Indiana Jones sign. (Swipe through the photos to see exact location.) 🍀At the base of the tree tucked around the side is a small door where the leprechaun lives. 💚 Legend has it that the Little Man of Disneyland lives inside. 🙌🏻 🍀You have to find this on your next visit! Most people walk on by not knowing it’s there. 🍀And if you want to read more about him there’s a Little Golden Book published in 1955 that you can buy and read! I’ll share the link in my story. 🍀The book tells about Patrick Begorra, a leprechaun living in the orchards of Anaheim. CROWD TIPS - we’re headed into a busy 3 day holiday weekend plus spring break is around the corner! I wanted to share some things to help you navigate the crowds. 👣 Arrive 45 min before the park opens so you’re there for rope drop! 👣 Ride as many rides as you can in the first few hours. Don’t waste time on things you can do when it gets crowded. 👣 I recommend you purchase Disney Genie+ a $20 per person fee per day. It will save you time in lines! Link in bio. 👣 Download the Disneyland app to help you see ride wait times. 👣 Use mobile ordering to get your food and skip the long lines. You can mobile order food in the morning and schedule pick up times throughout the day. Plus you can push the time back if you need to adjust pick up times! 👣 Take a break in the afternoon. Head back to your hotel for a rest or swim. The crowds peak in the afternoon. So rest then come back and shut the parks down! 👣 Go find characters out and about, listen to the piano at Jolly Holiday, watch the Disneyland band, go on long rides like Pirates or Small World later in the day while lines are terribly long for other rides in the park. Well, that's misleading. Characters will still be required to wear their heads. However... Effective 2/17/22 Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations. Guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters. Face coverings are still required by all Guests (ages 2 and up) on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.
