On this tortuous day 2 years ago, April 30, 2021 I stood outside the gates as California residents were welcomed back to the Disneyland Resort! But this Arizona🌵girl couldn’t go in yet! Despite the disappointment my day was made thanks to a little MAGIC from my dear friend Gavin @mickeyvisit! He had no idea I’d be in the Esplanade as he park hopped from DCA to Disneyland carrying his hot link corn dog from Award Weiners. Without hesitation the first thing out of his mouth was, DO YOU WANT THIS CORN DOG? Swipe to see the video! I about cried not only because he was offering but it was pure Disney Magic at its finest! One of my girlfriends was at Disneyland this weekend and asked for the best treats, and look at all the new stuff I found! 🍓I urgently need someone to confirm, is the strawberry cream cake that just appeared on the menu at Plaza (slide 4) the same one in my third picture? I had it two years ago, and it was the MOST EPIC thing I think I’ve ever had a Disneyland (not including the Montecristo of course which is in a league of its own!) It had a luscious cream cheese filling, and fresh strawberries. Yum! I’ll be there myself on February 9-11 and you know I will try every single item to report to you! Yes, of course I’m doing it for you and not for me… 😂Thank you for validating, my favorite hobby! There’s some fun new things for the Disney 100 celebration too- looks like there’s a lemon 🍋 theme… I think I’m most excited to try the strawberry macaron!! Shake it up!🍊🍂🎃🍂🍊🍂🎃🍂🍊🍂🎃🍂🍊🍂🎃🍂🍊 Schmoozies has redeemed itself! This blood orange shake was so good! No ice chunks like in the past! Fabulous citrus flavor, gorgeous presentation, my only complaint was they’re still using fake pastry cream on top instead of actual whipping cream. It tastes nasty but if you stir it in you won’t notice. And it does hold it shape for lots of pics! Speaking of shaking things up I’ve had a few earthquakes in my world this last week. I hate it! Can someone please call God for me and tell Him I need a break?? Some of it’s personal, some of its health, and a whole lot of it is me just complaining! So thanks for listening. I love that my Instagram account often turns into a journal that says nice things back to me. It’s lovely to vent! Posting flattering pictures always makes me feel better, temporarily… And then there’s chocolate. Still don’t know if I’m ready to talk about it. Maybe after Halloween. I’ll put on the Christmas music and make some hot cocoa…. except I’m afraid of Christmas too. I’m like one of those pathetic Hallmark heroines who lets a past bad December ruin her future holidays. Katharine Hepburn said “I know what I want and I usually get it.” That’s been my mantra! But… This week I knew what I wanted, and I did not get it. Twice. It’s a good thing we’re going into November because what I need is a huge dose of thankfulness! I’m going to put away my whining and feeling sorry for myself with all of my Halloween decorations and I’m going to unpack my gratitude, my joy, and optimism with the red and green ornaments. Wondering why an ecoblogger has written this post about plastic-free Walt Disney World Resort souvenirs? If you know me or my website, you know that I am a big Disney fan. While this may seem incongruous with an eco-friendly lifestyle at first glance, I assure you it is not! In fact, I was inspired to start Eco Friendly Mama by the Disney film WALL-E. I gave birth to these human beings so I could dress them in matching warm tones and take them to theme parks and buy coordinating cookies and make them pose! It’s the circle of life. 🦁 And we can all recommend this trio of cookies from Troubadour Taverns. The perfect #treattuesday snack for an afternoon break while you watch the Tale of the Lion King. One is lemon, one is chocolate chip, and one is coconut, all different textures and flavors and all delicious! 🦁And bonus snack: the chicken curry sweet potato was amazing! An example of something I would never try if it weren’t for having a Disney IG, I didn’t think I liked curry but this was awesome! Not too spicy at all, just warm flavors, and balanced so well with the sweet potato. Who knew? And you will feel so proud of yourself for making a healthy choice! Which means you can have an extra cookie butter sundae later right? ♥️ and if you’ve made it this far please pray for me today! It’s 5 AM and I can’t sleep because I am worried out of my mind- we have another meeting with Jason‘s bosses this am to decide about accommodations for and if he gets to keep his job… Pray for peace, pray for angels to fight my battles for me, pray that I won’t cry in front of all these men, and pray that he can keep his job with our children at our neighborhood school and that it will stop being threatened so that I can stop worrying about it. Cousin time at the most Magical Place on Earth 💫 I was so excited for Ashley to join us for a Disney day but was also nervous bc I just wanted it to go so perfectly for her - and it truly couldn’t have gone better. Some days are days where everything flows easily, timing aligns for all the things and it’s just the perfect Disney day. And from park opening till park closing that’s the exact day we had. 🥰 The kids fought over who got to ride with Ms Ashley on every ride and I loved watching them getting to make special memories with my fam! It was so wonderful to get quality cousin time together. La primera vez que llevé a mi hijo a los parques, él tenía 3 años. Y no faltó quien dijera que estaba muy pequeño, pero lo cierto es, que los parques tienen cosas para todas las edades. Durante ese día, la mayoría del tiempo estuvimos en Fantasyland y ToonTown, o persiguiendo personajes, o descansando. Ir con un niño pequeño, es llevársela tranquila durante el día y empezar con las atracciones más suaves para que se vaya acostumbrando. Esta foto fue tomada en el carrusel y se puede ver como estaba un poquito asustado, pero más tarde, estaba muy emocionado "volando" en los Dumbos. Ir con un niño pequeño es algo totalmente mágico, ya que sus reacciones son de felicidad y fantasía pura. Ahora él tiene 9 años, y no lo imagino brincando durante el desfile, emocionado si, pero no con la intensidad de un infante. Él ya no recuerda nada de ese día, pero yo si y es tan lindo verlo en videos ir corriendo a abrazar a Woody. Si tienen la posibilidad de llevar a sus niños pequeños, háganlo.
