Ever seen that one Sri Lankan train? This is it! I went from Ella to Colombo but a lot of people go Colombo to Kandy or Colombo to Ella There is also the option to go to Badulla after Ella and I wish the weather was good but someone told me that we wouldn’t even be able to see the bridge. Also we were a little bit short on time :/ However this 9.5 hour Sri Lanka train was truly epic. The views were BEAUTIFUL. I cannot explain what an enjoyable ride it was. Things to know when taking photos outside of this train: - Watch out for potential branches that might hit you in the face (they come fast) - Have someone lean out of the car in front of you to take your shots (ask someone to take yours if you are alone because there was a line to take photos someone must be willing - Be very careful...this is not a joke. Hiking in Oahu Hawaii 💚 Takovýhle hiky jsem si strašně chtěla splnit, už od Tenerife kde podobné cestičky najdete v národním parku Anaga na serveru - tam mi to nevyšlo, nevýhodou je ale opravdu silný vítr na vyhlídkach, díky tomu hiky na Havaji nejsou až tak safe když jdete někam úplně vysoko na hřebeny (slyšeli jste někdy o trailu Starway to heaven na Oahu? A special lil moment from the Lao border that didn’t make it into our video. After we missed our boat, we spent the day working in our hotel room, and headed outside a little before sunset just to find some coffee. Not only did we end up finding the best iced vanilla latte in the world (in this random tiny little town??), but also a beautiful rooftop where we got to enjoy our first sunset over the Mekong River, something that would become one of our favorite regular activities throughout our time here. Laos may not have the same popularity as Thailand or Vietnam, but we had some of our absolute favorite experiences here. Laos is such a special country and lives very near and dear to our hearts 🥲 We hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did!

Goodbye Michigan! Thank you Michigan for the wings that you've gave me. Days before I leave the USA land, I'm not pretty sure when I'm going to come back. But it's never a goodbye. I'm taking a moment to reflect. It was a hell of a journey. 14 states, 10 trips solo traveling , +20 Museums, international and American friendships. Such a dream for a dreamy girl stepping towards her middle 20's. It was such a ride full of human experiences. Full of laughters, sharings and self-healing. Full of you are becoming "a pride". It was never about showing my face or saying my name. It doesn't really matter. I don't care about my age either. I'm totally a mix of historical events and genes. I fell in love with Arabic literature since I was a child. I would write poems and I would paint. A very humble learner, a very free spirit. Those 8 months of my life were a radical change. Next chapter is going to be working harder to make that dream happen. Visitar las TORRES de la CATEDRAL DE COLONIA ⛪ son las mejores cosas que tiene Kölner Dom, ya que han creado un acceso que te permite subir hasta lo más alto de la torre de la misma, es decir,💖 te permite subir a casi más de 157 metros de altura, así que te puedes imaginar las maravillosas vistas que se pueden contemplar en lo más alto de la ciudad de Colonia.🇩🇪 Son 533 peldaños 😱 para poder subir así que hay que ir con poco equipaje y zapatos cómodos👍🏻 La subida se hace por una escalera de caracol bastante estrecha que puede provocarte claustrofobia o vértigo (yo sufro de vértigo pero es una experiencia imperdible) 💞 Cuando ya casi has llegado al final aparece un espacio descubierto desde el que se puede contemplar perfectamente la maravillosa campana de la catedral de Colonia, que es la campana balanceante más grande del mundo y que se toca en contadas ocasiones. Göcek: The town was previously known as Callimache in ancient times and is located between Fethiye (referred to as Telmessos in ancient times) and Dalyan (referred to as Caunos in ancient times). According to local legend, it is in the Göcek area that Icarus landed in the sea after his flight trying to escape from the tower where he was imprisoned. Göcek was used as a harbor for ships loading chrome ore collected from the mines under nearby mountains during the Ottoman period. Today, Göcek hosts six significant marinas that serve yacht tourism in the region: Club Marina, Skopea Marina, Municipality Marinas, Marinturk Göcek Village Port, Marinturk Göcek Exclusive, and D-Marin Gocek. The town is known for its islands and coves located in a large and secluded bay which incentivizes yacht tourism. In 1988, Göcek was declared a Registered Area of Special Protection. Because I have not been traveling for a while and I miss my travel Avatar 😔 I quit my job in 2022 November and decided to travel for a while. The break just kept extending and then I realised that I didn't want to go back to what I was doing. I didn't want to go back to Bangalore. So I continued traveling to see 'where it goes' and then I decided to do higher studies. So as of December 2023, I stopped with my travels because my bank account had almost emptied, but also because I had a new agenda. If there's one thing I'm proud of, it's of how I saved while I worked. I saved like mad right from the time I did my articleship. Every year, I would plan my finances. I would save at least 40% of my earnings at the beginning of every month. I sent a portion of my earnings home as well. I would allow myself a certain sum for food and necessities and entertainment. By 20th of every month I'd go broke, so I'd live cheap, borrow from friends if needed and pay back during the next month. While planning my travels, I tried to make it as budget friendly as possible. I have never booked a luxurious stay for myself. The only thing I splurged at times was on good food. That too I planned them well. While I'm almost broke right now, I'm so proud of how I planned and managed my finances despite some mistakes that I made. I have toiled in toxic environments like crazy! But I have also lived. I was alone in a bar beneath a hostel and found myself looking around for someone to speak to. But everyone was in groups, and all the tables were full. I felt myself go into a panic and started to debate just going back upstairs. But in a moment of confidence, I decided to take a Leap of Faith. I ordered myself a drink, knowing that it would force me to interact. With a beer in hand, I looked around the room, trying to spot a group that looked relatively friendly. At this point, following your intuition is always the answer. I spotted this group of four and I started making my way over, belly turned to nerves. But when you feel nerves … you need to follow through. When I reached them I simply said “Hi, I am travelling alone and have nowhere to sit, would you mind if I sat with you?” They welcomed me with open arms, I sat down and had a really fun night. They were locals and even invited me to explore the next day. The biggest advice I can give you is that most people, especially in hostels, are open to making friends. They are not going to turn you away. Since beginning solo travel 7 years ago, I have had people not be interested in making friends. But they all still made polite conversation before excusing themselves. This is the worse-case scenario. And every time that happened I always found another amazing group that were open to making new friends and we had an amazing time together. This is the oldest mosque in all of West Africa Known as the Larabanga mosque, it was built in 1421 by a man named Ibrahim who came to spread Islam from Medina, Saudi Arabia Since its 600 years old, it stays looking nice with a fresh coat of paint every 6 months We arrived right when the call to prayer was going on, so it was interesting to watch locals go in their separate doors: Men, chief, and women (no kids are allowed) Its made from mud and clay, and the tree pictured is over Ibrahim’s grave and is 500 years old. Hi! Here are some of my solo backpacking/Thailand tips: 1. Use formal & formal sources for research I used travel sites; blogs; videos; reels; Reddit and Facebook groups. I found informal sources gave me the best practical tips and hidden gems 2. Be flexible! Have a skeleton of your “musts” and your days, however keep your itinerary open. You’ll find other things to do, with others or yourself! 3. Learn some language, culture and customs! Knowing the basics (hi, bye, thank you, yes and no) shows effort and respect, locals appreciate this! Also helps you appreciate your surroundings more. 4. Explore like a local! Shop and eat where locals do! Take public transit! Immerse yourself! 5. Pack HALF of what you packed. You’ll buy things (woops - me and my 4 pairs of pants) but do bring essentials (skin care) 6. Accept your trip won’t be perfect. Life happens, you will overcome it (it was bed bugs for me). 7. Schedule some “rest” days. Travelling is tiring! Budget days in case plans change are important and allows you to re-energize. Travelling isn’t a sprint! I wandered the city on mine. 8. Go out of your comfort zone. I met so many people just chatting with stranges! I was able to have amazing experiences (learned how to drive a scooter). 9. Stay in hostels (esp. when solo)! You meet SO many people! The hostels I stayed at hosted events to bring people together. I never felt alone once, and I had people to do things with! Plus budget friendly! 10. Cash is KING (in South East Asia)! Get those discounts and those credit fees are horrendous. hello!!! first looks at Tromsø and I am blown away!!! when I was about 13 years old I started my first ever official ‘travel bucketlist’ in an old notebook I had laying around. I started by writing down all of the countries I wanted to go to and then thought that I’d go one by one, doing research to fill in all of the specifics on things I wanted to see and do in that country Norway was the first country on that list and I got so immediately hooked on the landscape that I literally never moved on to country number two. I filled the whole notebook with all of the hikes, lakes, viewpoints, towns and famous spots that I wanted to see! safe to say this is a little dream come true to be here and I can’t believe over the next few months I’m going to cycle through some of the places that past Annabelle scribbled down in that notebook! 💭🌎 feeling extremely grateful and excited for what’s to come, and I can’t wait to get back on the bike and bring you along too :)
