Well hello, it’s been a minute hey! Welcome back to me in the feed 😂 I have a love-hate relationship with IG - I love it bc I enjoy sharing my life. I hate it bc everytime I jump on here, somebody is shoving some unwanted product down my throat & bc @lifewithlori_ is used to promote things I do in business, I dont want anybody to think I’m only showing up for this reason. I'm tired of fake posts designed to suck you in with a like/comment that then results in you receiving a DM saying ‘Hi Lori thanks so much for liking my post, I’d love to collaborate with you for $50USD let me know OK’. Ummmm how bout f*k off! It’s not only here that I’m struggling though. I’ve also been struggling with stagnation. Sometimes I’m paralysed with fear, bc ‘if you’re not going, you’re not growing’ and ‘if you’re still, you’re stagnant’. BUT I realised something today, through journaling and writing content for the podcast. Stillness is not stagnation. There are far too many messages out there that we should be moving, in all directions, at all times. There are too many messages that if we aren't making money, we aren't moving forward. And, honestly, I don’t care anymore. I don't care if I don't measure up. Or have a 100,000 instagram followers. And I don’t care if I don’t have a million dollars in the bank. I care about my family. I care if my kids feel loved and my husband feels heard. I care about how I use my precious time on this earth and the footprints I leave on peoples hearts. I'm tired of pushing. Of working harder and feeling like it’s never enough. I want to be here. Just here. In my stillness. Today, my daughter dressed me. She absolutely adores this shirt, coz it has all her favourite fruit on it and who can blame her, it’s a pretty rad shirt. Sometimes she wears it with my shoes and pretends to be me in the mirror. And I love that her first question is always, how are you sweetie, did you have a good day? I don't know who will read this or even more who will care, but if you are feeling similar maybe you can join me in the movement that WE ARE CAPABLE OF THRIVING IN STILLNESS 💋

Reading on a park bench in the sun. What a small wholesome joy. Check in: almost have an outer body duality with things at the moment; Feel half: at complete peace, I know what matters in life and the rat race of day to day material society and what success looks like- is no longer my aim. The other half: well , wouldn’t it be lovely if that was enough and this way of life was feasible and easy. Unfortunately there are bills to pay and responsibilities to uphold, I’m thinking about going back to uni and doing a PHD, but that comes at a cost , all whilst I have a mortgage… fun. The hoops to jump through feel arbitrary sometimes- so panic can creep in. To do: slowly work on a clarity and hope that this will naturally come. Believe in the process and stay passionate. I'm looking for 'a light at the end of the tunnel'. I'm hanging on through pain, fatigue, loss and bone deep sadness. Covid, which is now Long Covid, is not over for me, and I am living at half the speed of everyone else, in a world that is moving on. I'm looking for that 'light at the end of the tunnel' and trying to remind myself that my path towards it is not a dark, lifeless tunnel. If I choose to notice, it can be a journey through a green forest, on a carpet of beautiful autumn leaves. I can focus straight ahead or I can look around at what is there for me right now. I have to go uphill, through pain, to get to the 'light'.....so I'm going to allow myself the time I need, time and space to experience this very strange path I have found myself walking. L E T T I N G G O Anyone else still got one foot back in August? I am enjoying the feeling of September routines creeping back in but could definitely do with holding onto some of that summer vibe. My workshop on Sunday (see link in bio for more info) is themed around LETTING GO. I am at my most content and relaxed when I'm on holiday. Anyone else? The lack of hurry, new sights, sunshine. This all adds up to my perfect way of existing. But most of all I think it's the lack of pressure. I'm sure I'm not alone in putting pressure on myself to do certain things, be a certain type of parent, and achieve certain things. I find all of this goes out of the window on holiday. Bedtime routines are no longer strictly adhered to, it's perfectly acceptable to go to the shops wearing swimwear and no makeup, and it's ok to spend hours reading and laying about. I don't think I'd want to do this all the time BUT it did make me think that perhaps it would be useful to think about my 'life rules' and let go a little bit. In a coaching session with @jengeraae I was asked "what would happen if you didn't give 100%." Eek! Something that I often think about now. The answer was "It would be fine!". We all have these assumptions that we have picked up through life. Sometimes it's good to question whether they are good for us, or whether we need to let them go. I'd love to hear what 'rules' you live by, whether helpful or unhelpful... Using a very slow shutter speed on a breezy day provided this view of branches moving with the wind creating blur naturally. I rather liked this effect.
