Released on February 29, 2000. It was a leap year release! “Live at the Greek” is a triple live album from Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes. It was reissued by TVT Records on white vinyl in 2013. In October of 1999, Jimmy Page played with the Crowes for a 2 night performance of material from the Led Zeppelin catalogue and old blues and rock standards. Chris Robinson has said, “I didn’t really have that much fun doing it; It was alright, and Jimmy’s a phenomenal guitarist, but to me it was just a job. I’m not a big fan of Robert Plant’s lyrics or his singing, so that part of it was a little boring for me.” What a dick! I saw this show in Virginia on July 6, 2000 at the Nissan Pavillion and it was superb! Contractual problems with the record company prevented the Crowes from issuing any of their own songs played at the Greek shows. When I saw them they played, “Wiser Time,” “No Speak No Slave,” “Remedy,” and “Hard to Handle.” Crowes Bassist Sven Pipien, was fired between the first 2 different releases of the album, and was airbrushed out of the group shot featured in the centrefold of the subsequent vinyl reissues. On This Day - 10/18/23 Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes - Live at The Greek Recorded: October 18 + 19, 1999 October 18, 1999, 24 years ago today, Jimmy Page played on stage with The Black Crowes at the @greek_theatre in Los Angeles for night 1 of 2 of what eventually became their Live at The Greek album. Playing mostly Led Zeppelin classics and album cuts, they also selected blues favorites and a few Black Crowes hits (not featured on this album due to a contractual disagreement). I knew this show would be legendary, but I had no idea how short-lived this tour and collaboration would be, as an extensive tour was cut short due to Jimmy’s back problems. Thankfully, their performance was captured over two nights at the Greek. I was fortunate enough to be in attendance 24 years ago, and it is forever memorable. Hace 13 años Ringo Starr lanzaba su álbum "Live at the Greek Theatre 2008". Es un álbum en directo del músico británico Ringo Starr, publicado por la compañía discográfica Hip-O Records en julio de 2010. El álbum, publicado de forma conjunta con un DVD, fue grabado durante la décima edición de su banda All-Starr Band en el Greek Theatre de Los Ángeles (California) en julio de 2008.Junto con Liverpool 8, publicado bajo el sello Capitol Records, el álbum es uno de los pocos trabajos de Ringo publicado en una discográfica grande como Universal Music. La décima edición de Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band contó con la participación de músicos como Edgar Winter, Billy Squier y Hamish Stuart, también presentes en la anterior edición del grupo, y con la incorporación de Gregg Bissonette, Colin Hay y Gary Wright. Al igual que en giras anteriores, el repertorio de los conciertos se dividió entre éxitos de los integrandes del grupo y canciones interpretadas por Ringo, tanto de su etapa en The Beatles como de su carrera en solitario. El mismo fue grabado en el teatro The Greek de Los Angeles, entre el 19 y 20 de octubre de 1999. Según el sitio oficial de Jimmy Page, hoy se cumple un nuevo aniversario de su última edición. El maestro Page y sus amigos los Crowes se asociaron para tocar en dos noches consecutivas, parte del material de Led Zeppelin combinado con viejos estándares de blues y rock and roll.
