Yes, food is meant for sustenance and fuel; however, I donโt know about you, but I also eat food for pleasure. Pizza & beer provide me with something that chicken and zoodles do not. Itโs OK to find satisfaction and joy in eating. Whatโs NOT okay is to obsess or binge or hide or feel ashamed or purge or hate yourself because you swapped a pre-planned meal of chicken & veggies for a frozen pizza after a shitty day of work. Itโs also not okay to feel like you need to double up on your workouts after having an amazing weekend with friends that involved cookie dough and margaritas. You did not FAIL, because you ate the cupcake your daughter baked for you. You are not a LOSER for adding an fโng bun to your burger. And you donโt need to START OVER because you had a second glass of wine. But, you know what you SHOULD do? Say โadรญosโ ๐ to the militant mindset you have created around food and exercise. Just get active. Shift your focus from the calorie burning effect of exercise to how it feels to move your body and challenge your muscles. And remember that itโs okay to honor your heath AND your tastebuds. There is no need for funerals for your favorite foods... but having a burial for that destructive and debilitating mindset is a must. โ๏ธ

On Sunday my friend @karen_doing_her_thing came along to my Spring Sketchbook Workshop, Iโd put lots of spring flowers and twigs on the table and had a real fun time getting our home ready for my visitors.
