Recently this year, I lost someone dear to me and that person's absence wrecked my heart. I lost interest in the things I loved most, like writing. Moonrise... One of my favorite things about my current home is our amazing moonrise views. 🌙 . (Warning a diary entry you will gain nothing from) I lost my inspiration, and my taste buds. In that order. I spent much of last week panicked and extremely deflated. It wasn’t even a matter of “no inspiration”. It was the feeling of hitting a vibe so low- I wanted to punch the wall, to be honest. I meditated and I was kind to myself like my mentors whispered to me. I de- stressed and I off loaded the toxins. But I couldn’t help wonder, imagine this was it? Imagine I never picked a paint brush up again and looked at life through my quirky pink abstract glasses, ever again? Dramatic hey? And then I lost my taste buds. That’s a whole new level of pissed off when you are using food to comfort your horrendous mood only to discover you can’t even taste it now. FML I decided to use my displacement by throwing myself into the admin side of both my businesses and ignore my body’s rebellious signs. Until it really threw a tantrum. Saturday I fell into a heap so deep I slept for two days - on and off. I couldn’t crawl out of this lethargy. I had brain fog like you wouldn’t believe. I was sick, unwell and eating cardboard flavoured meals. Long story short, I feel crap. Unsure if the message of this post is listen to your body or don’t take advantage of your taste buds. Who knows? I still haven’t been back in the studio. It’s disturbing me. I don’t like feeling low vibe. I sure as hell don’t like sitting around to nurse my fragile whinging body. After school finished for the semester I had zero appetite for anything creative. I'm trying to break this funk by working through UFOs because they take no planning, just execution. I found this apron and I have no idea how I had planned to finish the edges. I think I left my roll of narrow twill tape at school. So here I am, trying to bind the neck edge with some tiny scraps of tiny cream twill tape I cut off of something ages ago... it is terrifyingly too narrow but I'm making it work with slow stitching and a lot of clips...
