RADICAL HONESTY - THIS TOO IS ME . Past days have been really tough. Didn't really allow myself to feel deeply what was stirring my inner peace. Slowly but surely I felt to be gliding off in the realm of the monkey mind . It was horrible It kept telling me what a failure I am, how ugly ageing has made me with sagging skin and losing muscle tissue and how I lost the moment and the chance to have a partner to grow old with. So much disappointment about Instagram not showing my posts unless they come with a nice image of me and starting to wonder where my 'voice' is hiding. So difficult to honor and value myself past days. . Is this what they say is 'hell' ? Am I depressed? . And I DO REALISE this is merely a moment in time, and tomorrow is another day and bladebladebla. I kept on feeling stuck. And it is ok. It is a transformation . To come out of the rabbit hole, I did some shaking and trance dance during more than one hour I assure you it was physically tough to feel all my negativity and self doubt. What came up made me literally vomit of disgust about myself. The release took me all morning . So this afternoon I am taking some time to integrate and will end the day with a healing massage. . Radical honesty with self, doing what is necessary, being raw and real with the 'good, the bad and the ugly' Here I am. This too is me. Sample board inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night Largely this room would be decorated with bespoke wooden features and furniture to give a ‘lived-in’, rustic feel. Knitted, handmade, light and calming fabrics, maybe a calming influence for someone who struggles with mental health. Chiffon curtains the catch the wind at night letting the moon peek in and out and create movements. There is some truth when people say they were most content at their poorest. For me I took great pride in making things: - not just work, but look good with the little I had. Those were the happiest days. I also see calm in simplicity… well, a little bit of fine wood work too. Vincent loved painting flowers, I’ve added floral wallpaper as a nod to his other works. I could have gone with the exact colour pallet but I wanted to demonstrate that not everyone sees the world the same. Especially when times are difficult. When Vincent painted starry night it was believed he was in an asylum. He painted so many scenes from his window, day and night. I’ve represented the swirling clouds and trees in the wooden framing and textiles. Old Vinnie didn’t have much apart from his art supplies, I have placed the solidarity chair with a solitary pendent for the moon, over his head as he prepares to paint another scene. The chalky flooring has a single line through each of them. These represent the mental and physical prison he was in. His power and brilliance was also his nemesis, we can’t have it all. Sending love to you Mr. Vincent, this gets more and more moving everytime I see it.
