As you probably know through @thegentlebarn our Honey Bear transitioned this week. That whole last day, I could not stop crying. But just before he passed away, I looked at him lying there like royalty, being pampered, loved, and honored, and I realized that this was not a tragedy! Honey Bear's life was a fairytale! Honey Bear came from nothing with no one. At The Gentle Barn he had a soft bed, cool pool, friends, family, purpose, and belonging. He was seen, heard, respected, and understood. Honey Bear left in the most beautiful, loved, joyous, fun way anyone could ever leave! I threw him a party with peanut butter sandwiches, bananas, watermelon, apples, pears, strawberries, vegan cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and ice cream. I tucked him into bed with his blanket and pillow one last time, sang to him as he fell asleep, and walked him home while he was snoring. I could not help whisper in Honey Bear's ear as he left, "way to go Honey Bear, way to go!" We are all going to leave at some point, no one makes it out of here alive. So saying farewell is a given. It is how we live and leave that’s important. When we can look back at our loved ones lives and know they were a miracle, and when they can pass away surrounded by love, that’s a fairy tale! We placed our very last pair of bunny rabbits into their forever home, WOOHOO!!! After rescuing 21 bunnies from a research lab, 4 months of teaching them how to eat hay, veggies and use the litter box, pouring over adoption applications, and a ton of clean up, we did it! They are now all indoors living the loved life that all animals deserve! Thanks @friendsofunwantedrabbits for advising us! In our animal communication session, Bear shared so many intimate moments of his life. He showed me putting his paws in the water and his bouncy walk everyday. He showed me being in the woods with his mom during a special meditation she does to connect to him now that he’s gone. He showed me kissing her face, bringing her toys, putting his paw on her, and eating super fast. He showed me his playful, happy, fun, wonderful life and how much he loves his mom and dad. And he showed me laying still with his eyes closed while his mom pet him, looked at him, and talked to him during the last days of his life. Bear came through strong, present, and clear, always connected to his mom and dad. It was an honor to meet Bear and relay messages and memories to his family. Once again it is so clear how they never leave us, they just leave their bodies. ITS A MIRACLE!!!!! Tommy is 15 and was missing for 2 days in freezing temperatures and no one could find him. Search and rescue said that he must have gone the other way towards the freeway but when I spoke to Tommy, he told me he was surrounded by large trees, on a slope, with rocks near him. I heard the trickle of water and smelled a musty damp smell. Tommy showed my that he could not stand up. So his mom insisted that they keep searching the woods. They finally found him in a riverbed. He was stuck in the mud and could not stand. Tommy is now home safe and recovering. My queen, my teacher, my healer, my friend, my witness, my Karma has made her transition after giving us so much extra time. @jaylweiner and I walked her home this morning with our remarkable staff. Karma taught me how deeply mommy cows love their babies. She taught me to listen when they’re speaking to me. She taught me that there is no such thing as “death” and that love lives on. She is who I ran to when I was having a bad day. She gave out hundreds of thousands of hugs during her lifetime to our guests. She trained and passed the torch to Crystal, our new matriarch. We survived the tornado! On Fri @jaylweiner and I and our daughter Cheyanne drove from @thegentlebarn TN to MO through Kentucky. Our tornado phone alerts were going off like crazy to seek shelter, but we had no where to go so we just drove really fast and beat the tornado by 10 minutes! I kept thinking about seeing Chico again. We are so grateful to be alive today. Rosey is very protective over his wife, Coal and will sometimes karate chop us if we come too close. I was training our staff at @thegentlebarn TN to pick him up and hold him when he does that as a deterrent. Fin has been crying at night and waking his mom up. His mom wanted to know why, so she booked a reading. Fin told me that he feels hungry all the time and even though he has plenty of food, he never feels satiated. He said his tummy hurts and he needs softer food for his teeth that is easier to digest for his tummy. Luckily Fin has a wonderful mommy who will be getting him the best wet food and adding digestive enzymes and probiotics from New Earth. Dakota showed me his ritual with his mom when she came home. They greeted each other with kisses. He showed me his favorite memory of being at the beach and hiking on trails. He loved going in the car. He showed me jumping all the way up in the air and pouncing on things like a fox. But what he really was excited to relay to his mom is that the two of them belonged together and he couldn’t wait to see her again. He told her, “wait for me, I’m coming back!” Most animals I talk with, love being out of a body and enjoy being pure energy. But on rare occasions they want to come straight back. We’re leaving the beautiful @thegentlebarn MO and headed back to LA and Lewis. This visit to TN and MO has been magical. The animals and both properties look great and are in excellent shape. The staff and volunteers are extraordinary. And the energy feels remarkable! We hosted a group of teens in a court ordered high school, young adults with special needs, and people from a homeless shelter. It was an honor to watch our guests gain confidence, empathy, and openness among the animals, and the animals breath life back into our guests. We have 3 tremendous locations and I’m so grateful for the people who work so hard for us to make it so! We’re at @thegentlebarn in St Louis and I finally get to hug Chico after being away for far too long. I love all the animals here, but this location, the other animals, and the hearts opened here, are all because of Chico! Four years ago when I met Chico for the first time to decide where the St Louis six go from their foster home, he walk 150 feet till he was right in front of me. His energy was so powerful that I fell to my knees, locked eyes with him, and wept. He told me he had a message for the world and we had to help him share it. We opened The Gentle Barn and Chico has been changing the world ever since. It is an honor to work beside him! Seeing Chico is like coming home to a best friend and like visiting a wise sage all at the same time. He takes my breath away. Hugo just had surgery. His mom wanted to know how he was feeling and if he wanted to keep going or if he’s had enough. Hugo showed me a strong pressure in his tummy and he said he was so cold. He told me that he wants to feel better and go home. I asked his mom why he would be so uncomfortable and she said that they just reduced his pain meds. Hugo said that he needs help with the pain and wants to feel warm. It’s so difficult for any animal to go through surgery, but in the pandemic it’s even worse because his mom can’t visit him. Hopefully this reading let Hugo know that his mommy is thinking about him, loving him, and waiting for him to come home! Luna said, “When we are closed and scared, everything seems so small. But when we open up, all of a sudden our hearts seem so big!
