And come on … “No one will surprise me, unless you do”. What an amazing line! Although not what this song is about, I have found that when things are great, everyone wants to be your friend … but when things get tough, the real ones emerge. My filter for that shit is pretty good, but it’s definitely not perfect. That’s why I’m not particularly bothered by turbulence. It causes the loose debris to fall away. And because the filter isn’t perfect, I’ve definitely been disappointed. The question Peter Bjorn and John pose is a different, interesting one: have I ever been pleasantly surprised? Someone who I didn’t think was a friend, but when things went south, actually emerged as a real friend. As I sit here and I write this, I struggle to come up with a time where this was true. I guess from this, you can conclude that my friendship sensor produces no false negatives, but does let some false positives through. Mitt val av dagens skiva beror på att jag hade en trevlig messenger konversation med Peter Morén ikväll. Det inspirerade mig att lyssna på detta album. Indierockgruppen Peter Bjorn and John bildades i Stockholm 1999 av Peter Morén, Björn Yttling och John Eriksson. De hade stora framgångar utomlands. Jag gillar verkligen den här skivan. Jag hör mycket influenser i deras musik. Beatles finns där, främst i Peter Moréns sång. Vissa bas och gitarr-riff kan påminna mig om tidiga U2. Peter Bjorn and John is a great band. I used to listen to them a lot back in late 2011 and the majority of 2012, and so their music makes me nostalgic for that time period (I was a sophomore in high school around that time). Recently started getting back into them. The main aspect that stuck out to me about this band is how the lead vocalist sounds a lot like John Lennon. I recommend this band to anyone who loves chill and laid-back indie rock with a hint of 70s rock, and to anyone who’s a Beatles fan. #peterbjornandjohn #indierock
#throwback The biggest news for PBJ the band 2023 was of course that we made our first proper shows in FOUR years and in #Brazil never the less. Our 3rd time in SP but our first ever visit to #Rio.We had a great time and its worth several posts. But first of it was great meeting @wildsonpsicologia before the #saopaulo show. Wildson might be our biggest fan ever! He has an extensive collection of #peterbjornandjohn records and memoribilia that far extends our own regarding rarities. We got to see some of it backstage.
