Just saved a bumble bee. Was going to take a photo of the beautiful tree when I saw this struggling Bumble bee. I put my hand next to the flower, the bumble bee moved very slowly towards it. Once on, I protected it from the wind and brought it to the van where we gave it some sugar water. You can see it hanging from the paper towel to drink it. We then took it to the Bee cottage that I spotted earlier in the walk. It walk around a bit, getting quicker in its movements, tested it's wings a few times and.... Today we saved a bumblebee 🐝. I used my #beerescue keyring from @greenandblueuk which has a vial of sugar water inside. We were at Freya's Mamar and grandads for a BBQ and this little guy ended up in the paddling pool. Freya shouted for me to come over as soon as she spotted it. I fished 🎣 him out and took him over to the table. I told Freya to get my keys for the bee rescue vial. The poor thing was soaked. He lapped up the sugar water so I gave him another droplet. After a few moments he became more mobile so I took him to some flowers 🌺. He fell off but that kinda woke him up a bit as he started to flap his wings and soon he was off. We cheered as he took off into the sky. Saved a drowning bee 🐝 Heard a buzz and found this little bee drowning in our guppy pond. Picked up the bee with a stick using phone torch. Here she is wagging her tail. We can see few drops of water on the yellow lighter just below her feet. Shot on phone macro mode with flash. She dried up and flew back home. A wild dwarf honey bee or a red dwarf honey bee. Well that was an adventure! . It was around 50°F here today...and this little lady landed on the screen of a living room window trying to warm up. "OH NOOOO!!" Lou didn't know what to think when he saw the 🐝 She wasn't moving at all so we cracked a window to see if she'd respond to a little warmth and waddaya know...she did. And came inside the broken screen to warm up even more, haha. . The boys loved watching her start to move around a little then climb the screen. The window was between them and the bee the whole time. Promise! After a while the bee hadn't picked up speed so I got her out of the screen (outside, don't worry) and put some sugar water in a water bottle cap. She couldn't move enough to get to it so I poured a little on the porch and some stood above the carpet...check the video out at the end! Have you ever seen a proboscis in action? I'd forgotten how cool it is. . This little lady sped right up and seemed to recover well after the sugar water! After 10 or so minutes she flew off! Hopefully she made it back to her hive! . It brought me so much joy to care for a little bee (I'm so glad it worked! I don't know how the boys would've taken a dead 🐝...) And to watch the boys react to her warming up and recovering! Then it got me thinking... How much joy does God take in caring for his wounded, cold, broken bride! Every time we step away, end up cold looking in all the wrong places or run in the opposite direction of His voice, He's there waiting excitedly for us to just turn back to Him. EXCITEDLY. Yesterday I was picking all the dandelions in my yard, I went to get a bucket and noticed a Bee 🐝 in the bottom couple inches of water in the bucket! I grabbed a dandelion and scooped him out and held him till he dried up. Lifting his wings occasionally off his wet back, carefully with my nail. Eventually he gave his wings a little flutter, then slowly climbed off the flower and onto my finger. I was nervous he might sting me, but he just cleaned himself, took some deep breaths and did a couple little circles on my knuckle, then took off! ☺️🙏🐝 Call me silly if you want, but I thought it was pretty cute, almost like he was thanking me for saving his life🥰

I saved this little guy today. He was on our wiper after we went to check out the house. It was very windy so I'm guessing he was exhausted from trying to fly through it. Luckily I had some water & sugar (emergency tea stash), in my bag. He had a drink and then spent about 10 minutes on my hand, walking around cleaning & sunning himself. Found this bee lying on its back in a howling gale, so carefully picked it up, brought it into the garage and made it some sugary water. It wasn't moving when I first found it, but as you can see it soon started feeding and seemed to recover. My hubby then took it into the garden into a sheltered spot where hopefully it survived!
