Having finally gotten used to each other’s existence, Brad and Dusty must now deal with their intrusive fathers during the holidays. Now, before I start the review, you’re probably wondering why I haven’t reviewed the first Daddy’s Home film. But if not, don’t worry. I wouldn’t wonder either. But since it’s a Christmas film, and tis the season, I thought I might as well review it. When I watched it back in 2017, I had a good time with it. And then 6 years later, I can’t help but just love it. Sure, Daddy’s Home 2 is basically a little rehash of the first film, but I can’t help but love how funny and silly it is. Of course it has to be a silly film, it’s a freaking Christmas family comedy. If a Christmas film is silly but good fun, you know it’s done its job right. And this one does it right. We have the returning Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as former dads at war turned co-dads Brad and Dusty. Whenever these two are in a film, you know you’re in for a fun buddy film. I loved them both in The Other Guys, and Daddy’s Home. This time, they’re great again. It reminded me of the chemistry between Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. I referenced this chemistry in my original review, and once again, I loved them both in their roles. This time, we have their dads. Will Ferrell’s dad is played by the fantastic and fluffy John Lithgow. Let’s be honest, you can tell these two were born to play father and son in a film. They are so funny together, it feels like a very sweet and charming Hallmark family. I might be wrong about the Hallmark thing, considering I’ve never seen any Hallmark films, but… maybe one day? I doubt it. Also, we have the hardass Mel Gibson playing Marky Mark’s dad. Once again, like father, like son, but… I preferred Ferrell and Lithgow’s relationship. There’s a backstory in this film that kinda damages Dusty’s confidence when singing Do They Know It’s Christmas Time by Band Aid, but it soon wraps up in a little bow at the end. (Cont. in comments)

I rewatched the film "Daddy's Home 2" last night. I've always really enjoyed this one! Daddy's Home 2 is an absolute blast of hilarious gags and charming wit. The wonderful script by John Morris and Director Sean Anders is filled with heart and perfectly captures the choas of the holiday season with all its warmth and drama. The film is so relateable because everyone has been in these situations, whether it's the amusing accidents, the humorous bickering, or the complex qualms of the past. The film stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg returning as co-dads in fantastic performances. What's brilliant about this film is the casting of Mel Gibson and John Lithgow are terrific in their roles as their parents. The contrasts between Gibson's toughness and Lithgow's doting father makes for a lot of laughs. Together they all have pitch-perfect chemistry. The film has really good performances by Linda Cardellini, Alessandra Ambrosia, John Cena, Scarlett Estevez, Owen Vaccaro, and Didi Costine. The film has some awesome cinematography by Julio Macat. The film has a wonderful score by Michael Andrews and is well-edited by Brad Wilhite. The art direction(Rachel Block), set decoration(Debbie Cutler), production design(Clayton Hartley), and costume design(Carol Ramsey) is solid. Sean Anders did a great job directing this hysterical heartfelt holiday film that is perfect for the holiday season. Horrible Bosses 2 wasn’t as enjoyable as the original but it was alright. I’m afraid to say this but apart from Instant Family, I haven’t seen a Sean Anders film that was great and I thought this was average but I thought it was slightly better than the Daddy’s Home films. I did find it funny but it was similar to the original but only this time, the trio try to get revenge on one person. I also didn’t find Jennifer Aniston’s character that bad in the sequel except for one scene. I actually downloaded the unrated cut of the movie, but its proposterous intro scene warned me that the unrated cut is not to the general audeience, instead it was meant for the people who watched the original version and loved it. So I stpped watching that there and downloaded the theatrical cu t of the movie, and started watching it. The film opens up with a very hilarious opening sequence. Our protagonist is Ian, an 18 year old boy who falls in love with "Ms. Tasty", a girl who he met online. Ian decides to embark on a cross country drive in his brother's Pontiac GTO. Ian is accompanied by his close friends Lance and Felicia on this journey. The rest of the movie shows Ian and his friends evading a number of hurdles (in the form of weird characters and absurd situations) that come between the and Ms. Tasty. The crazy subplots and the surpringly funny odd and dark jokes add an extra oompgh to this movie and seperates it from the rest of the movies of this stature. The whole Amish subplot, the donut sequences and stuff like "leaky ladies" were all incredibly hilarous and memorable. The casting has a lot of familiar faces and they have all done their parts very effectively. Loved the film and its a shame that films like this can;t be made anymre. "Spirited" de Sean Anders (7/10) "Un conte de noël" de Dickens, n'en finit plus d'être adapté. Ici, on le retrouve dans une version "Ryan Reynoldisé". C'est à dire réadapté, modernisé, avec un ajout de comédie et de comédie musicale. Le résultat détonne par rapport aux anciennes versions et globalement, c'est assez réussit. Soyons clairs : SI vous n'appréciez pas le style de Reynolds et de Will Ferrell, vous n'aurez aucun intérêt à regarder cette version, tout à fait dans le style des bonhommes. Mais si c'est votre genre, vous trouverez un film de Noël plutôt réussit et forcément bienveillant. Ma spunterà ben presto Dusty ( Mark Wahlberg), padre naturale dei bambini. Brad è la figura mite, buona, con forte spirito di famiglia, Dusty è la parte più selvaggia e forte e sembra riuscire in tutto quello che fa. Inizierà una competizione maschile tra maschio alfa e maschio beta piena di gag e situazioni al limite dell'assurdo per la riconquista del ruolo all'interno della famiglia. Non uno dei migliori film con Will Farrell, ma funziona per come deve funzionare, cioè intrattenendo. Nessun messaggio secondario forte, nessun romanticismo spinto, e forse in questo caso è un bene, ma il film viaggia sul voler essere spensierato a tutti i costi e in questo senso funziona benino. Tutto nella norma sul piano tecnico e artistico, qualche gag che rialza l'asticella e qualche dialogo soprattutto nella parte finale che non ci fa perdere interesse. Il fastidio principale che si può notare per tutto il film è l'ingenuità dei personaggi, e si finisce a fare il tifo per il "bad" papà. paradossalmente i personaggi secondari che fanno da spalla funzionano meglio dei personaggi primari, messi là da contorno ma che assumono una sfaccettatura più comica al contesto.
