Missing: The Lucie Blackman Case (2023) It follows the turbulent and complex investigation into the killing of British tourist Lucie Blackman. MY RATING + REVIEW 7/10 A very disturbing and very sad documentary, feels like it should've been longer and more in depth, just feels like they rushed this. None the less it's a good documentary that's very chilling and heartbreaking. #MissingTheLucieBlackmanCase #Netflix #NetflixOriginal #NetflixDocumentary #Documentary #DocumentaryReview #DocumentaryReviews #DocumentaryReviewer #MovieReview #MovieReviews #MovieReviewer #FilmReview #FilmReviews #FilmReviewer #Review #Reviews #Reviewer #Movie #Movies #MovieBuff #MovieLover #Film #Films #FilmBuff #FilmLover #Cinema #CinemaReview #CinemaReviews #CinemaReviewer #Movie #Movies #MovieBuff #MovieLover #Film #Films #FilmBuff #FilmLover

“You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll kiss 20 bucks goodbye!” This is the hook of @mvdentertainmentgroup’s disc release of HARDWARE WARS, the 1978 original STAR WARS parody — and it worked on me. Although, I wouldn’t say I threw away 20 bucks, because: 1) The cover and packaging design are a nice callback to the Warner Bros. clamshell VHS cases. 2) There’s more on this disc than a brand new 2K HD transfer of the 13-min. short film. There’s also a director’s cut, a Prequel featurette, an APOCALYPSE NOW parody, and more. 3) The short is legit funny at times! I laughed at the Scooby Doo language coming out of Fluke Starbucker’s mouth. The character names are fantastic, including Ham Salad and Princess Anne Droid. Ham Salad’s jokes are 🔥 too 4) The spaceships are household appliances and utensils. 5) Paul Frees narrated it. And he’s the voice of the Ghost Host from The Haunted Mansion attraction. 6) The MVD Rewind Collection is straight up awesome, and I’m a proud owner of all 57 titles 😎 Pick up your copy from MVDShop.com 👍 • • • • #hardwarewars #mvdrewindcollection #mvdentertainmentgroup #starwarsparody #starwars #starwarsfan #starwarsnerd #starwarsart #parody #bluray #bluraycollector #bluraycollection #blurayaddict #blurayjunkie #retro #vhs #vhsaesthetic #vhscollector #vhscollection #filmcommunity #filmstagram #filmfeed #filmcritic #filmreview #filmrecommendation #moviecollector #moviecollection #moviereview #moviecritic

The Bad Batch Season 3 Review: Helmed by Dave Filoni, Brad Rau & Jennifer Corbett; Star Wars The Bad Batch Season 3 continues and concludes the story of Clone Force 99 aka The Bad Batch, who have their limits tested in the fight to reunite with Omega (Michelle Ang) as she faces challenges of her own inside a remote Imperial science lab that harbors a secretive experiment that is considered critical for Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid). With the group fractured and facing threats from all directions, they will have to seek out unexpected allies, embark on dangerous missions, and muster everything they have learned to free themselves from the Empire once and for all. This rag tag team of unique Clones has certainly come a long way from their first debut in the final season of The Clone Wars to going on their own journey in their own spin off series that I was surprised to be so invested in. The first season was awesome and while the second season was a little bit of a mixed bag for me it had some serious high points in its second half that had me still hooked to see more. This brings us to the third and final season of the series meant to conclude the story of these characters and I was hoping that if this was going to be their final chapter that it would be a major improvement over the previous season as well as end everything on a high note. After watching all 15 episodes I am happy to say that not only do I consider this a massive improvement over season 2 but it was overall an extremely satisfying season to end the series on. In fact I can may even say this was perhaps my favorite season of the series as a whole for a lot of the amazing things it gave me such as incredible voice performances, a consistently tension filled narrative, epically thrilling action, strong emotional energy, stellar animation and much more. This season was everything I wanted the show to be from the start and while it is a bit sad that it took the final season to get to that point I am still pleased with what I was given. (Continued)

Late Night with the Devil 7/10 #film #horrormovies #horror #review #filmreview

5/2/2024, 3:38:38 AM

A desperate talk show host with dwindling ratings brings on a guest guaranteed to get people talking, but oftentimes the price of fame ends up being more than one bargained for.. Late Night with the Devil is a horror film that I’ve heard a lot about recently, with its intriguing premise of a 1970’s talk show gone horribly wrong, and told partially through a found footage perspective. Unfortunately the film is getting additional attention right now due its use of AI generated art in some sections, and it really bums me out to see an original film like this cutting corners by using AI, instead of paying actual artists. This doesn’t affect my rating or review of the overall film, but it’s worth calling out. With that being said, Late Night with the Devil had me hooked from the start as it cranks up the suspense, framing the whole film as an infamous lost episode that was recently discovered, and is being shown for the first time. There is a great sense of mystery and tension here, as you know from the start that something very bad is going to go down, you just have no idea of what or when. Carrying this rising tension is David Dastmalchian, who brilliantly plays the talk show host willing to do whatever it takes to get more viewership for his show. Some of my favorite moments in this film are watching him frantically try to keep the show running smoothly and keep the audience calm, even when things are very obviously spiraling into chaos. Late Night with the Devil has this amazing build up as you wait anxiously for the impending disaster, sadly the payoff of this build up is somewhat abrupt and left me feeling unsatisfied with its conclusion. Maybe it’s because the first hour of this film is so strong I was expecting more, but ultimately the ending left me a bit disappointed. Overall though this film was pretty good! It’s not going to be the scariest film you’ve ever seen, but for it being under an hour and a half it’s hard not recommend to those looking for a stress-inducing trip into late night television. It’s a nice little Rom com, but funnier when you remember or realise it is just a Harry Styles Fanfic. It really is just a bunch of different Rom com tropes shoved into one I guess. Dating someone famous, age gap, keeping it a secret, every Rom com has done those before and this doesn’t add anything to the genre, but it makes for a nice little watch. Is it Anne Hathaway’s best? No. Is it her worst? Again, no. Her performance for what it is, is very good. I don’t know and haven’t seen any of the others in anything else, so I’m not gonna judge their performances. The ending was nice, although it could’ve ended 5 minutes early and it would’ve been a more bittersweet ending than just cutesy. Overall, it’s pretty cute and enjoyable for like a date night watch, but there are better Rom coms and better Anne Hathaway Rom coms too. Personally, I’d just watch Love & Other Drugs cause it’s a bit funnier. #theideaofyou #annehathaway #nicholasgalitzine #amazon #amazonprime #amazonprimevideo #prime #primevideo #harrystyles #harrystylesfanfic #film #films #2024films #review #filmreview

This is what I watched April. I decided to do something different and rank them. Also, The Ministry of gentle— whatever it’s called, I only watched 30 minutes of it and although I hated it and would probably hate the rest of it, I gave it a 3/10 but don’t take my opinion entirely serious because we walked out. Anyways, what’d you watch this month?

"Godzilla," the latest addition to the franchise, stands out not only for its visually stunning poster but also for its remarkable special effects. Despite its significantly lower budget compared to Hollywood counterparts, the film delivers special effects that rival those of big-budget productions. However, while the visual spectacle is undeniably impressive, the film falls short in terms of direction and screenplay. From the outset, the poster catches the eye with its captivating design, symbolizing the film's elevated status among the plethora of Godzilla movies. It sets high expectations, promising an experience that surpasses its predecessors. Visually, the film doesn't disappoint. The special effects are breathtaking, bringing Godzilla and its adversaries to life in spectacular fashion. From towering cityscapes to epic battles, every frame is a testament to the skill of the visual effects team. However, where "Godzilla" falters is in its direction and screenplay. While the film delivers on the spectacle front, it struggles to engage viewers on a deeper level. The narrative feels disjointed at times, lacking the cohesion needed to fully immerse the audience in the story. Characters are underdeveloped, their motivations often unclear, which makes it challenging to invest in their journeys. That said, "Godzilla" is not without its merits. It serves as a visual feast for fans of the genre, showcasing the awe-inspiring power of its titular monster. The film's success lies in its ability to deliver on the promise of jaw-dropping special effects, even on a limited budget. In conclusion, while "Godzilla" excels in its visual presentation, it falls short in terms of direction and screenplay. With a stronger focus on character development and narrative coherence, future installments in the franchise have the potential to elevate the series to new heights. As it stands, "Godzilla" remains a spectacle to behold, but one that leaves room for improvement in its storytelling prowess. #godzillaminusone #godzilla #2024 #movie #moviereview #film #filmreview #takashiyamazaki

Excellent combo of action and comedy. If you like martial art films, bloody action flicks, and Archer then you'll have an absolute blast with this film. The continuous underlying thread of humor throughout this movie juxtaposed with the gratuitous violence puts it more into the realm of Bullet Train in my mind. The setting is similar to the Hunger Games with its totalitarian state, televised culling, opulent ruling class, and underdog revolutionaries. Bill Skarsgård's physical acting paired with H. Jon Benjamin's voice acting was a matchup I never knew I needed in my life. This movie got several laughs out of me. Also prepare yourself for the final fight. #boykillsworld #billskarsgard #moviereview #moviereviews #movierecommendation #movielover #filmreview #filmreviews #filmcommunity #cinema #cinemalover #movie #movies #film #films #actionmovie #actionmovies #actionfilm #actionfilms

Interesting take on Dracula's daughter / ballerina vampire. This movie is an absolute laugh out loud thrill ride. I couldn't stop laughing. Abigail is horror comedy done right. A basic covert jungle style warfare action film, the movie also serves as a stark difference between techs at bases and field units. And how even the lifestyles and air/atmosphere for these different operatives is such as drone operators are in a more office environment of detached, relative low stress, short shift situation while field operators are in high intensity, high stress, extreme hours situation. Solid action spectacle with some nice explosions and lots of chases and even a few knife fights. Russell Crowe is great as an 'in your ear drone operator. It'll do for anyone into straight forward action movies. #landofbad #liamhemsworth #russellcrowe #moviereview #moviereviews #movierecommendation #movielover #filmreview #filmreviews #filmcommunity #cinema #cinemalover #movie #movies #film #films #actionmovie #actionmovies #actionfilm #actionfilms

Usually, I don't like prequels but this is a worthy successor to the original 1976 Omen. What this movie excels at is that it expertly conveys a descent in madness and reflects the paranoia and terror of the situation extremely well. In no small part due to lead actress Nell Tiger Free from Servant (2019), who is an absolute standout and does a great job as the carrying this film she even has a scene reminiscent of the subway scene in Possession (1981). The director and cinematographer recreate the style of 70s horror that the original Omen was such a pivotal part of. I love how they took the best aspects of the era and combined it with the technical sophistication of today. Another thing to praise is the sound design the way the sound envelops you the haunting whispering and chanting, the oppressive music...it feels like you're surrounded by evil and especially towards the end, creates and incredibly intense atmosphere. #thefirstomen #theomen #nelltigerfree #moviereview #moviereviews #movierecommendation #movielover #filmreview #filmreviews #filmcommunity #cinema #cinemalover #movie #movies #film #films #horrormovie #horrormovies #horrorfilm #horrorfilms

This movie more than accomplished all of the promises it set out, absolutely mesmerizing experience. If you liked or loved the first one, the same will apply for this one. Personally, I loved this one even more and I think general audiences will as well. Denis Villeneuve continues to prove himself as one of the best filmmakers of our time, and if it was up to me I would keep him in these high-budget epic tales such as these since there are very few directors working today that can tackle this genre as good as he does. Hans Zimmer's score is masterful just as you'd expect. Technical aspects such as VFX, Production Design, Sound, Editing, etc. Are all top notch and awards-worthy. The action sequences are impressive. Denis direction is impeccable, and the story is absolutely fascinating- continuing to develop characters from Pt. 1 even deeper and introduce new incredible and intriguing characters. It's clear everyone on set was aware that they were working on something special here - because literally every single person in this production have brought their A-Game for a truly incredible technical achievement. #duneparttwo #dunepart2 #dune #moviereview #moviereviews #movierecommendation #movielover #filmreview #filmreviews #filmcommunity #cinema #cinemalover #movie #movies #film #films #scifimovie #scifimovies #scififilm #scififilms

So, who one the match? Who was Tashi excite yelling for? You know what… I didn’t really care. Somehow the musical score made you think you cared… Bravo Trent and Atticus, but I knew so little about the characters that it didn’t really matter to me. The actors did a fine job, but WOW the script was sparse. Not nearly enough content for the two hour run time. Perhaps that’s why there was a lot of camera trickery on the court. This was a perfect career move for Zendaya… she’s got what it takes. The movie on the other hand was forced and flat. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare There’s some fun Guy Richie style, Henry Cavill I can tell had a lot of fun in this, the rest of the cast are pretty cool, fun and well shot action scenes, and some funny moments. There’s moments that drag, the annoying snobbish a hole cliche that makes bad decisions and are a foil, and the nazi villain is kind of boring. Overall while I’ve seen better from Guy Richie it’s a fun waste of time. It’s trying to be deep and groundbreaking but see badass actors being badass and what’s wrong with that? Rating: 6/10 Enjoyable limited series to some extent but overall a disappointing addition to the sonic franchise. It just lacked what the sonic movies had. It was less funny, less heart and soul and the quality of the story wasn’t on par. For a knuckles show too it focused too much on Wade when everyone including me just wanted to see knuckles. The show had cringe and also funny jokes but it was more of the cringey not funny ones that were in this. The action was really good though and Knuckles was good and the music was amazing with some classics! Just a pretty bland show overall that should’ve focused on a more Knuckles storyline - - #cinema #cinemalover #cinemalovers #review #reviews #filmreview #foryoupage #moviereview #moviereviews #movie #movies #movieaddict #moviebuff #moviegeek #reviewfilm #reviewfilms #film #filmcommunity #filmfeed #films #trending #cinephile #cinephilecommunity #fyp #sonic #knuckles #idriselba #sonicthehedgehog #knucklestheechidna #sonicmovie

Rating: 8/10 A really fun time with lots of action and bloody scenes to enjoy aswell as a great cast and a cool story which I didn’t expect to go into the direction it went to so that was a great surprise! Didn’t expect the movie to be too serious so I enjoyed when it would get really crazy, over-the-top and silly. Some funny scenes in it too! A fun revenge story with some great action from Skarsgard which really gets me hyped for the crow movie coming out, the choreography was stylish and the music to back up those epic scenes. Great to see the kid who plays homelanders son from the boys in more roles too and even Famke (Jean Gray) from X-Men being back on the big screen! Skarsgard is just a great presence on screen too that’s a known fact. It was just straight action non stop blended well with a great revenge story with some surprises! Rating: 8/10 Watched at the cinema! A great non stop action packed adventure across the wasteland with some badass cars! The movie is pure adrenaline fuelled action with some fantastic stunt work and violence. The vehicular action makes it a very unique movie with a spectacle of things you wouldn’t usually see and some wild car chases. As far as plot goes it’s there but it’s super simple but with a very satisfying/great ending so you are allowed to enjoy the crazy adventure it throws at you and trust me it’s crazy with some insane costumes and weaponry! Tom Hardy as Max is iconic and he is just awesome anyway especially as this rugged looking badass wastelander. Charlize Theron gets the most of this story as she is more central and her character arc from start to end is worth while! Some fantastic cinematography with two great shots of Tom Hardy looking down at the barren wasteland! The colours palette is great too! Rating: 9/10 Wow what a fantastic British drama done in a really quirky way! David Morrisey is a phenomenal presence on screen as expected with his thrilling performance as walking deads The Governor. He can really act and is very underrated, his character is just complex, amazing and hilarious, I see his intelligent cunning ways but also sympathetic to his character too. David Tennant also great! Some really fun scenes when they mix the drama into a musical and have these big stunning musical sequences to make it lighthearted and fun whilst also having the songs play a key part to the story. I was utterly engaged the whole time and found the whole experience to be thrilling with this rivalry, love affair and murder mystery/crime thriller going on. Dialogue was also phenomenal and captivating, with some hilarious lines thrown in. This is some proper good TV!

Review They 2002 DVD Rating: 3/5 They is unable to deliver on its premise and the film shadows a mystery we never learn a great about. The horror genre was in a moment of adjustment and the late 90s was leaning into more psychological horror narratives with high concept ideas. Filmmaker Robert Harmon returned to the horror genre after a little hiatus following the cult hit The Hitchhiker. Harmon hasn’t lost any of his visual eye and this film has incredible atmosphere. The key problem with this film is the logic of its characters and a lack of understanding the creature’s intentions. You get the feeling this was all lost during post production, and reading various notes about earlier screenplays this had potential to be something truly unique. The characters can’t overcome their one dimensional creation and they disappear as quickly as they’re introduced. Harmon is unable to explore the world he has created and another 30 minutes would’ve helped. The producers clearly had the young horror crowds in mind and this is a brisk 90 minute running time. I remember enjoying this more than I did here and it’s most likely down to that finale. This film has a strong ending and you just know that the screenplay was built surrounding it. I actually believe the Ethan Embry and Dagmara Domińczyk would’ve been the stronger lead characters. The film feels lost in its own mythology and sadly it falls apart. Exploring the psychological impact on the Laura Reagan character was the right choice but it needed more time to be explored. This is another horror film that fell through the cracks and has been largely forgotten since it failed critically and commercially on release. #they #2002 #moviescene #moviecollector #filmcollection #filmcollector #bluray #bluraycollection #bluraycollector #blurayaddict #blurayjunkie #bluraymovie #dupreewenttothemovies #DVD #filmcommunity #moviescenes #filmreview #filmlover #movielover #physicalmedia #filmreview #movierecommendation #moviescene #review #cinema #movienight #movietime #lauraregan #marcblucas #ethanembry #dagmaradominczyk #robertharmon

Dark Water •2002 •Japanese •horror/drama •Japan •Hideo Nakata •101 minutes ☆☆☆☆ ..... "Dark Water" (2002) emerges as a haunting cinematic journey that masterfully intertwines the supernatural with the all-too-real challenges of motherhood. This film, inspired by Koji Suzuki's short story collection, is a testament to the unyielding bond between a mother and her child, showcasing the profound lengths a mother will go to shield her offspring from harm. Set against the backdrop of a gloomy, dilapidated apartment complex, the film amplifies its eerie narrative with a setting that is as unsettling as it is symbolic of the characters' inner turmoil. The relentless water leakage from above serves as a chilling metaphor for the pervasive dread that seeps into the lives of the protagonists. At its core, "Dark Water" is a poignant exploration of themes such as loss, abandonment, and the haunting weight of parental guilt. It delves deep into the psyche of a divorced mother, determined to forge a safe haven for her daughter amidst a maelstrom of past traumas and inexplicable paranormal adversities. The film's ability to maintain atmospheric tension while providing substantial emotional depth cements its status as a standout entry in the J-Horror genre. It's not just a ghost story; it's a harrowing narrative of resilience and the protective instincts that define us as human beings. "Dark Water" leaves an indelible mark on its audience, proving that true horror lies not only in the presence of spectres but also in the spectre of our own fears. ... #filmreview #film #horror
