🌱Happy release day @twigandtale 🌱 The Ridgeway Shirt pattern is now available but I was lucky enough to get my hands on it early as part of the Sew & Show team! I absolutely loved sewing this pattern. In this house we are always looking for ways to make clothes sensory friendly and the fully enclosed crossover front alongside French seams makes for a garment that’s as beautiful inside as out, and scratchy seam free. I decided to sew the shirt in my favourite @merchantandmills black linen and I’m so pleased with how it turned out; gorgeous and soft and light for summer days, but equally easily slipping into evening wear territory - a perfect combo in my book! Because the internal facings are fully hidden, I was able to add a little whimsy with secret bees! I’ve been holding onto some scraps of this Rose & Hubble cotton poplin for ages and it was awesome to get to use them up. Clothes should be fun, and this addition really makes me smile! Twig & Tale perfectly balance the line of knowing, and opening admitting, that sewing can be hard, while holding your hand and guiding you gently through the process, making even the more complicated utterly achievable. The crossover may seem daunting, but once you’ve got your hands on the very clear instructions, backed up by an excellent video sew along, it comes together in no time - just don’t skip the basting! Not only are their patterns beautiful and well made, but every pattern I make from T&T teaches me something new. Aspen worked alongside interior designers Alkimi Studio, to bring the client’s vision to life, including transforming their existing office from a dark and enclosed layout to a bright, warm, and inviting space that encourages collaboration and connectivity. Elements such as textured wall finishes, indoor plants, and a warm colour palette, successfully tie the separate zones together, creating a relaxed and comfortable environment. Daisies Another re-post to show the detail of the cuts and the textures of the papers. I love using Khadi rag paper - tearing it rather than cutting - to create the rough edge. I've just had a delivery of fabulous cards and papers from @papermilldirect - I just LOVE the hopsack card, the texture of it feels like fabric. Again, each of these cards are unique in that they are made one at a time, each card therefore being slightly different. No print runs!
