Les soins palliatifs ne se limitent pas au traitement médical. Il y a aussi le soutien émotionnel et psychologique qui permet aux patients et aux proches aidants d'avoir la meilleure qualité de vie possible. Au cours de cette semaine spéciale, nous tenons à rendre hommage aux professionnel·le·s de la santé et à notre équipe de l'unité de soins palliatifs de l'HGJ. Les médecins et les infirmières apportent la science qui soulage la douleur et la souffrance. Rifka, des stagiaires et des bénévoles apportent empathie et compassion à ce que beaucoup considèrent comme les moments les plus difficiles de leur vie. Ce n'est pas un travail facile, mais il peut être extrêmement gratifiant. Leur dévouement et leur compassion permettent de rendre plus lumineux les moments les plus sombres. Our volunteers provide a wonderful service to patients at the Jewish General Hospital. You can always find Lucienne and Ida working hand in hand at the Hope & Cope main office. Both of them have been volunteering for over 20 years! Alex is a bit younger… We'll give him time to reach those numbers! He applied as a med student at McGill and his time at Hope & Cope will definitely boost his candidacy! We wish him great success!
