Today, Making Energy Greener is celebrating Earth Day by demonstrating and inspiring fellow SME's how to cut down on carbon emissions through sustainable ways of travelling to work, such as: 🍃 Walking 🍃 Public Transport 🍃 Carpooling CEO, Rebecca Armstrong chooses to walk to work and is joined by Retrofit Advisor, Sharron Armstrong and Submission Manager, Dave Robinson. Choosing to walk to work instead of driving is hugely beneficial to not only the environment but your physical and mental well-being. When asked what physical and mental health benefits they've experienced through walking to work, Rebecca replied: "Since most of my day is spent sitting at a desk, I think physical exercise is really important for my heart, lungs and muscles. I also think seeing the sun and feeling the elements around me has a really positive effect on my mental health and there is much less pressure than being stuck in traffic." Dave expressed that he prefers to walk to work for three reasons; positive impact on the planet, helps to save money on fuel and provides him with physical exercise. Sharron was very happy to see the financial impact of walking to work, as she now saves around £40 per month on fuel costs.
