There's significant outcry in Chandigarh following a 5% surge in water prices since Monday. The situation has invited a lot of opposition from the residents, more concerned about the emptying of pockets amidst increased responsibilities. Chandigarh Mayor Kuldeep Kumar asserted how it is unfair on administration 's part to hike prices of such a valuable asset and also promised to challenge this decision. He further stated how such issues need to be discussed in the Union Legislature. He suggested that the water price should remain stable for a few months and later it should be rediscussed with utmost precautions. The step to rise prices came in as a further implementation to the 2022 scheme wherein it was held that from April 1 onwards, every year, the tax levied on water would increase by 5%. In addition, a 150% spike was seen in other services, thus inviting criticism. There was sewerage cess imposed under the water bills charge, spiking up the prices further. Apart from this, several other schemes such as that of Salary hike, Sampark Service's 10% hike hit deadlines, inviting strong reactions from residents. There has not been any official response on the situation but keeping the heated atmosphere in mind, such an issue requires immediate attention as well as action. One of Southern Utah's many gorgeous water hikes. Red Cliffs is most fun in the spring when water is flowing. You can swim in and jump into the pools. But be sure to watch the water level for safety and the temperature for fun. The water was high but chilly when we visited last week. Water shoes or sandals are a great idea, but tennis shoes or hiking boots will do just fine. For most of the short hike you can avoid stepping in the water, but eventually if you want to keep going you have to wade, so keep that in mind. Please be courteous of other hikers, this can be a busy spot, and remember to pack out what you pack in. Protect this beautiful spot for generations to come. Legends of Superior Trail - Arnett Canyon 2/23/24 🥾 8.3 miles ↗️ 528 ft. elevation ⏰3 hours 😅 Easy/Moderate only by distance 🅿️ Picketpost TH 🚻 At TH 🐶 YES! The L.O.S.T. trail has several different sections: 1-Superior to Claypool Tunnel (4.6 miles) 2-Superior to Perlite Road (3.8 miles) 3-Arnett Canyon (8.3 miles) And of course we did the longest one 😏 Arnett Canyon. This trail is beautiful and EASY (flat) despite being long. The trail is well-marked and groomed and runs along the canyon floor that has running water in it right now 👌🏼. Start at Picketpost TH on the famous Arizona Trail. After only .2 miles the trail has a left fork—take it onto LOST Trail 221. A cattle gate must be unlatched and gone through twice (near the beginning then again near the end). The next .6 miles takes you down to the canyon. Enjoy amazing views of Picketpost while weaving back and forth across Arnett Creek. There are sections of cool rock formations, covered areas with large trees, grassy areas, and even some random palm trees (see if your kids can spot them 😉). At 2.8 miles the trail forks again, go right onto Arnett Canyon Trail 218 for the remainder of the hike. If you wanted to connect to the next section of L.O.S.T. take a left here to end up connecting with Perlite Road. That would be fun to start and do the whole trail in one go 🤔. Another fork occurs .4 miles later-stay on Arnett Canyon Trail by going left. The trail abruptly ends and back you go. We saw a couple groups, one camper, and 2 groups of horses and riders, but mostly felt like we had the trail to ourselves. If you prefer a loop, do the Picketpost Loop that circles Picketpost Mountain, 8.7 miles. It’s fun too, but I like Arnett Canyon best ☺️. Note the trail is also a popular horse trail so beware of riders and horse poop 😝. Beautiful day for a hike on another wonderful AZ trail! Unique Hike No. 4 was this past Monday since I had the day off. Second attempt at the Trabuco Arroyo Trail starting at the golf course. First time I went alone. There were more people on the trail this time, only saw like two bikers in December. Trabuco Creek actually got higher since the last time I was out there! Maybe it's from snow runoff? Either way we made it to the exact spot I made it to last time before Omeed tapped out. Maybe in a few months we can make it through. The water tariff hike for Penangites from Feb 1 has received overall approval from NGOs, which view it as necessary to discourage wastage, but communities on the mainland are upset due to the poor quality of service in their area. 🌊 Splish-splash through Spain's hidden gem 💦 I finally processed the photos from our recent trip to Spain. These exact ones are from the Rio Chillar in Nerja trail. This 16km round-trip is more than just a hike; it's an aquatic adventure! 🚶♂️🚶♀️ With every step alongside (and often inside!) the river, you slowly start to let the water into your shoes. Starting our journey on a seemingly mundane asphalt road, the true magic unfolded as we followed the river's course. The terrain, a medley of rocky paths and lush canyons, called for sturdy, water-friendly shoes (sorry, flip-flops!). 🥾 The deeper we ventured, the more enchanting the landscape became, with striking rock formations and refreshing pools beckoning us for a dip. 🏞️🏊 And let's talk about the ‘Los Cahorros’ - these narrow canyons are nature's marvel, offering an almost mystical experience as we waded through knee-deep waters, with walls towering over us. Truly a sight to behold! 😍 One important thing: this route is sometimes closed due to water levels and fire danger; before you go on it, check the information on the Nerja website. We recommend starting early to beat the crowds (those depend of course on the time of the year) and fully immerse in the serenity of this natural wonder. I guess I’m a noobie hiker now😂🤩 這應該算是個蠻特別的爬山體驗 天氣看起來不差😜 但不知道為什麼危險指數這麼高⚠️ 但都開了六小時來了大家還是想不要命的衝進去 當然 沒有去什麼很深的地方😂 出發前去租了水鞋跟水襪還有拐杖🩼 水鞋很緊，但就要很緊沒錯 而且非常笨重🤪 可能是為了防滑防摔倒的關係 穿上去就是腳被包很緊！ 我也不知道為什麼我一直覺得水鞋應該會有點防水吧 結果完全沒有！！ 哈哈啊哈 好吧 我也不知道我在想什麼 一下去腳就是整個濕掉 我一邊走一邊想我腳應該是濕掉了吧 哈哈哈 然後一上岸 沒錯果然濕掉🤣 我印象中有一段天空的雲開始變的有點灰 然後好像有點打雷的感覺 遠遠就聽到park ranger 狂吹口哨 真的是一直吹 可能想把大家都趕出去 結果大家還是瘋狂往裡走 啊哈哈哈哈哈 美國人果然很做自己 風景真的很美 但我大概看了一整天之後就覺得可以了🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 #zionnationalpark #zion #hikingadventures #waterhike #hikingtrails #hiking
Just go with the flow! Sometimes it's easy to want to plan out every single little detail in life. And sometimes you just need a day to relax and not do anything.
