Mount Si 🌸 April 23 The “pink moon” (full moon in April) wasn’t visible on my hike, but I saw lots of Spring wildflowers, which is how a full moon in April got that name. I don’t open up much on the social platforms because I always overthink what I’m saying as I’m saying it. . . I have so much to say but no clue where to start. Maybe I’ll split it up. . . The winter was rough on me. I’ve always heard people joke about seasonal depression but I feel like it really hit this time around. In the mix of that, I kept feeling some obligation that I needed to flock to the mountains and get on a hike for new photos to keep my gallery momentum going. Realizing that I was letting this obligation ruin what I love to do. . . Me and the camera are friends again and we’re shaking off the rust. Excited for some venturing this year. 📸

Happy #trailtuesday! Indiana Dunes was a really unique experience. We hiked on dunes, boardwalks, and on the beach. We could see Chicago across Lake Michigan. It would get really hot, and then the wind would whip up off the lake, and it would get soooo cold. I don’t even know how many times we stripped off and added layers back on during this hike. By the end of the hike, the cold wind was pretty relentless, and we were ready to get inside, out of the wind, and get some food in our tummies. Pro tip: the pizza at Gelsosomo’s slaps! Maybe it was just because we were tired and wind burned, but that was seriously one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. #TrailsPlusTuesday is here and we are highlighting the City of Carlsbad, a 2021 Trails+ recipient! The City of Carlsbad requested Trails+ funding to purchase, install, and equip outdoor shade structures for two performance stage areas in Halagueno Arts Park. Their project included the installation of two cantilever-style structures with fabric tops to provide maximum unobstructed shade and protection from the sun during events. This multipurpose stage is used during festivals, educational classes, Chautauqua concerts, and events, which bring talent, visitors, and tourists from across New Mexico and surrounding states.
