Throwback Thursday this week takes us a long way down memory lane! And yes, that’s me with golden hair too! Back in the early noughties, I was quite heavily involved in sports sponsorships. My work mainly spanned large-scale football sponsorships and superbikes, but occasionally, I’d venture into something a bit different. Here’s a pic of me alongside Shane Warne, legendary Australian cricketer. We met at a fundraiser held at a small cricket club in the Midlands. Shane was there to lend his support to grassroots cricket. At the time, I didn’t honestly care who he was or the significance of his presence, but someone suggested I get a photo with him. So, there we are, frozen in time. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since he passed away. Today’s outing was to Rose Seidler House. This house was designed by Harry Seidler for his parents. Harry was only in his 20’s at the time and the house which was finished in 1950 became the most talked about home in Sydney due to its innovative design. Harry became one of Australia’s best architects and went on to design over 180 buildings and won many awards. Some of his most well known designs include Australia Square in Sydney’s CBD, MLC Building in Martin Place and Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre which was completed in 2007, a year after His death. Rose Seidler House is now a museum and open to the public on Sundays. Saeside Promenade appears to be a scene from the north east, a place that Lowry used to enjoy an frequent. He particularly liked stoppingg at the Seaburn hotel, where he drew many sketches and produced several oil paintings.
