We grow unique heirloom vegetables, from greens, radishes, turnips, onions, tomatoes, peppers, squashes, eggplants, celery, cucumbers, potatoes, so many heirloom beans, peas, carrots, beets, asparagus, rhubarb, and SO MUCH MORE. We pick berries, and fruits, dig up root vegetables, wild forage for edible greens and roots, and teach you and show you how to use these wonderful gifts all around us. We include teas, and salves, flowers and tinctures. I include small bars of goat milk soaps so you can try all the different kinds that I make. There are gifts from the kitchen, and 5 different kinds of meats. And eggs. Hand dyed gifts, nuts and syrups. Honey, and more. Each box includes a newsletter with farm stories, detailed information of everything in your box, and recipes. Freeze dried dandelions. I love how these turned out. This is my second batch and I have added multiple jars to our inventory. I also freeze dried violets and ramps. Freeze drying is the best way to preserve food. It removes the moisture for long term storage. Wild foraged mushrooms such as morels, spring flowers, early spring delights, have kept the freeze dryer humming along. I am preserving the gifts of the season and extending our food supply, saving money, and adding medicinal plants to our apothecary. It has been the best addition to help us preserve and cut our food costs. Leftover meals go into the freeze dryer. Sometimes Warren & I don’t get all of the rice & vegetables finished, so I freeze dry a tray. I add some farm canned tomatoes, and warm up, and plant seeds while eating produce we grew last summer. During busy spring days we rehydrate and heat, enjoying organic farm raised food, snacks, teas, berries. I make goat ricotta, freeze dry & sprinkle on dishes. I have been using it for everything that I can. Mashed potatoes, casseroles, roasted sweet potatoes, dog treat cookies, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, SNOZBERRIES…imagine the unimaginable. Freeze drying retains 97% of the nutrients. My favorite snacks are crunchy crisp freeze dried heirloom cucumbers and ripe summer tomatoes. A burst of flavor when the fresh produce isn’t available, and grocery store produce is flavorless and traveled days to get here. Everything is so expensive. I haven’t gone to the grocery store for 7 weeks. The freeze dryer has saved us money. I wish I had a freeze dryer when my children were small. Interested in adding one to your home? For 15 years in a row, Mountain View Farm (@mtviewfarm) huddled beneath Mt. Tom in #Easthampton has been voted Best Local CSA by Valley Advocate readers for their certified organic produce as well as U-Pick #flowers and #veggies. Last summer's flooding hit Mt. View hard, destroying 45 acres of eggplant, squash, peppers, potatoes, leeks, carrots, celery, corn and storage onions (much of it ready or just about ready to be picked). The Mt. View crew pulled together supplying their #CSA customers with flowers and produce from their 15 unaffected acres, Meanwhile a groundswell of local support here in #HampshireCounty translated to over $160,000 in #GoFundMe donations to keep the farm open and the farm's family of workers employed. Wednesday was National Domestic Violence Remembrance Day. It came days after people, mostly women, marched around the country calling for more to be done about the prevalence of men’s violence against women in Australia, which in 2024, has seen men killing women at the rate of once every 3.5 days. I am v grateful to everyone who has been organising & speaking out on this issue, including those in sporting circles. A special thank you to surfer @saltwaterpilgrim for her work & words here 🩵. The sooner we realise how public & private life interact & reinforce social injustice, the sooner we will get to safety & justice, in all facets of life. Including surfing life. I would have loved to be on the streets w everyone & to contribute to the public conversations, but I was simply too physically & emotionally exhausted to do so. An exhaustion w a direct link to men’s violence. In time, I will be back talking & writing about men’s violence & its manifestation in everyday life. But this week, I want to share a poem for survivors. I don’t want to write to or for others rn, inc “not all men” disguised as “nice guys”, trying once again to explain how X links to X & why you should care about that. I’m tired of writing to you. Rn I only want to write to & for survivors. I wrote this poem almost 3 years ago to the day, a simple bunch of words about an extraordinary feeling that I will never forget experiencing. I wrote it on a day I suddenly — relievingly, triumphantly — understood that one of my childhood abusers was a really bad person, not me. Didn’t you know that already, people will ask? No. I knew it intellectually, but not physically, not fully. Survivors will understand what I mean when I say that on this day, I finally understood it in my body, in my nervous system. It was like a surge of magic in my veins. It felt like freedom. To be well enough to surf on the same day was incredibly special to me. Feelings of freedom do not always last, so it’s important to share them & celebrate them when they exist. This poem is for survivors. I honour your struggle & will always stand behind you as you move as best you can towards freedom. May you find it, & may it be lasting.

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of activities for me and my colleagues at The Chief of Staff Association (CSA) Headquarters. We recently wrapped up our certification program at Harvard Business School followed by an AI Leadership Seminar in Seattle, hosted by CSA and Microsoft. In addition to these events, I had the honor of representing my team at the American Chamber of Commerce, Kenya Business Summit 2024 held at Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club. This was attended by various top business and government officials. A key highlight was meeting Ms. Thamar E. Harrigan, Chief of Staff & White House Liaison at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). She was on duty with her Principal, Madam Enoh T. Ebong Director - USTDA. During a quick-fire video interview, Ms. Harrigan shared her insights on her role as a Chief of Staff, the top three critical qualities she looks for in her role, and what lies ahead for her. It was a privilege to connect with such inspiring individuals in the industry, and I look forward to sharing more updates soon.
