There are all sorts of weird. I live in Portland, believe me I know! Tatoos, beards, kombucha! Then there’s my breakdancing kindergartner, my tiktokking tween, and if they had a voice, they’d tell you: their WEIRD belly-laughing always dancing mama. We don’t do kombucha and beer, but we definitely do our part to “keep Portland weird.” It’s all good weird. I say bring it on: the world needs more of it. But what about kinda sorta uncomfortable weird? Anyone else feel “weird” about sharing testimonials? I got some really great ones and then started feeling kinda weird about sharing them. Funny, I’ve been talking to my kids lately about the idea of: not what we do but how we do it. It’s come up in response to some of the tv shows we’ve watched… ( #pandemiclife) So here I am: honoring not concealing my vulnerability around sharing. Because I know it matters. And because in doing so I am also honoring the amazing women who showed up bravely for themselves and their transformation: Alex finally created the passion project that had been bubbling within her for years, and launched her children’s book to critical acclaim. Kayla became an entirely more present, creatively-expressed mom, truly enjoying (not resenting) time with her son, re-discovering her joy (and healing her grief) in the process. Trish stepped into her leadership in a fiercely empowered way, discovering how deeply she is able to connect with people when speaking her truth, and manifested epic speaking opportunities and a stream of new clients knocking on her (virtual) door. Jenna revitalized her messaging, brought in her most profitable quarter ever (including a $17k+ month) and deepened her relationship with her toddler to boot, once she realized that the way she was dealing with the strong emotions of motherhood was exactly what was holding her back in her business. As Ariana sang “I got one less problem without you…” we have one less astrological pressure to worry about today - 12 July - Mercury goes direct, ending it’s second retrograde cycle for 2020. Happy days— these days, I am happy for even a little reason to celebrate! . 𝑴𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒕 in Cancer (5º 29.5') today, July 12, 2020 at 8:26 am Universal Time. So the risk of you cutting your bangs, texting your crazy ex, mistakenly texting your gossip text to the person you are gossiping about, getting dates & appointments wrong… all that risk has gotten significantly lower (we hope!). For many of us, this last Mercury Retrograde period was a doozy, with so much emotion & angst happening, given this Retrograde was in the sign of the emotional Cancer. Breathe a sigh of relief since that pressurised, moody, feeling-filled period is now less intense. Like a bad hangover, there is always a little lingering retrograde effect till the 26th of July but at least relief is here. . 𝑳𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒔 𝑳𝒂𝒛𝒖𝒍𝒊, one of my favourite stones since forever & yet so difficult to find authentic ones nowadays. They say it looks like the sky bedecked with stars, & it is said that this stone existed before “time was born” therefore it is very often used in meditation in order to assist in enlightenment & manifestation. 💎 I’m cleansing it VERY BRIEFLY in pure cool water, but please do not soak lapis lazuli in water for long periods because it may damage the stone. It is also not advisable to expose it to strong sunlight. 💎 I love to use this stone during meditation & hold it to my throat chakra or forehead or simply hold it in my left hand; another excellent use is to slip the stone under your pillow at night to enhance dream work & manifestation. Strongly protective, you can keep it by itself in a cloth pouch, in your purse or pocket for a protective energy. 💎 It is outstanding to use in attracting love; here’s a simple ritual to bring love to you: 💎 * find a calm, peaceful place, lapis lazuli crystal, a pink candle, rose petals, your favourite essential oil * sit in your special place and face magnetic north * anoint your forehead, palms, the candle & lapis lazuli with your favourite essential oil * use the lapis lazuli to engrave into the candle your chosen love symbols, initials etc that are most significant to you. * place the rose petals around the candle, & hold the lapis to your forehead * close your eyes, centre & ground yourself & come into a regular, rhythmic breath pattern * visualise yourself attracting love energy to yourself; visualise how it feels to be in this love energy, how it looks, where you are, the sounds, sights. An excellent time to meditate, let go of that which no longer serves us, & manifest. You could do a simple quiet meditation on letting go or manifesting your dreams, or simply light a candle & take a quiet moment. 🌗 If you would like to do more here's a simple eclipse meditation/ritual - you will need a candle, incense optional, small jar, your favourite crystals & essential oil, paper & pen, water/oil, salt & a quiet space. 🌖 Take a bath; wear gold/yellow-this is the colour of Jupiter, honouring the Guru. Sit in your quiet place facing magnetic North, your materials close by. Shut your eyes, breathe deeply, centre yourself, feel the ground beneath you. When you feel quiet, open your eyes, drop some essential oil in your hands, breath in the scent. Anoint your candle with the oil & light it & the incense. Anoint each crystal with oil. Holding the crystals in your hands, close your eyes & visualise your heart’s deepest desire or visualise letting go of the things that no longer serve you. When you feel that your visualisation is strongest, open your eyes & write down your manifestation/intention on the paper. Then drop the crystals into your jar. Finally carefully burn your intention paper, & drop the ashes into the jar, sprinkle with salt. Optionally, fill the jar with water or oil. Close the jar & optional, seal the jar with candle wax. Leave the jar outside in moonlight. The next day, keep the jar by your bedside/altar, till the next full moon. You may use the water or oil for anointing or cleansing or any lovely uses that you desire.

Through the years I’ve realised that crystals will present themselves and call out. Periods pass where nothing comes up, & all of a sudden one pops up; usually it happens in waves & a succession of hellos 👋🏼 will occur. The most talk-about move of the week : Kneeling to Jump Squats! I still did it with my toes on the mat to begin with. Tried the one shown by @chontelduncan in the app (feet flat) and it was doable, but also easier to fall 🤣 Guess just have to make do with what we can and improving from there. . . Saw a question on @sweat IG Story about what progress means to each of us, I realized for me, it is how I make exercising as a priority. It’s the change of mindset. No more “I don’t have time to workout” thinking anymore. I used to be on and off following a program, at a time it could be a full 1-2months without exercising because I was ‘busy’. Now, I know I will be away for the rest of the week, so I scheduled my workout to finish 4 sessions before I have to leave for my mini vacation! That’s my progress and I’m proud of it! Next target is still to get those abs..🤣 . . First half of week 2 of #sweat6weekchallenge was full of jump squats and all of its variations.😂 I still couldn’t do a full on 45s jumps at a time. #fierceathome indeed pushing me out of my comfort zone. I’m enjoying the static moves, like deadlifts, even more after all those jumping moves! AMRAP day still is the toughest day of the week! Although, I started to find any new variation of burpees got me more excited now. Who would’ve thought I’d like burpees..? 🤭 How was your week been, ladies? Tomorrow’s going to be my rest day and next week’s gonna be public holiday. I’ll have to make a good planning for week 3 for sure. This is a little PSA for my beautiful Unicorns 🦄, but even if you don’t believe in the healing assistance that crystals can endow during these tough times, well, know that it’s still good to dust off & brighten up your gems . Some ways to cleanse your crystals: 💎 If it’s a loose gem, wash in cool water 💎Another way if it’s a loose stone is to soak in cool water with a few drops of your fave essential oil, keep overnight or longer *note: in general I do not like to soak my crystals in salt water, especially if the stone is porous, friable, contains metal or has a water content (PM me for a more detailed list of this) Always rinse the Crystal in running water as a final step. 💎 Bury the stone in raw rice grains (brown preferable but white is fine) overnight or longer. 💎Bury the stone in tea leaves, herbs such as sage, lavender overnight or more *in general, use your intuition & keen gaze & you will “know” when your crystal babies are clean. They will speak to you if you listen. These are just a few methods, there are more, PM me if you are interested. 💎💎💎After cleansing, do energise them by giving the stones a moon bath-put them outside to soak up the moon energy.
