Disclaimer: This caption is going to be as messy as this painting is. 🫠 . I’m sick, and I fell way behind on the April challenge, so I guess I’m kinda giving up on it. TBH I felt like a failure cause I never make it through a month long challenge, and I really thought I could do it this time. . I’m VERY protective of that thing—that spark, or whatever it is, that keeps me motivated to keep painting. I guess you could call it inspiration, but it isn’t as fleeting and elusive as that term implies. It’s something I do my best to cultivate and nourish. That’s actually part of why I fell behind on the challenge. After the initial excitement of the first week or so, I was starting to really drag my feet on each painting. It wasn’t because I was tired of the challenge, it was actually something I’ve been noticing for awhile—the subtle feeling that I’m burning out. It isn’t from a lack of enjoyment for what I’m doing—I love the projects that I’ve gotten to work on lately and I love my personal projects as well. It’s just that I do creative work every single day including my weekends, and I needed a break. . So I took one. I took a week off and started rewatching ATLA (the original), and replaying through the halo games. It was incredibly nourishing to my creative soul and by the end of the week I was bursting at the seams with ideas that I want to create. . Also i might’ve gotten excited about learning animation and now I’m going down that rabbit hole lol. 🙈
✨Felinette x Star Wars AU✨ A lil "story" to this drawing: I actually wanted to draw PV felinette (because I realised I've never drawn them before) but then, I honestly don't know why or how (considering that I haven't watched Star Wars movies in ages 😂) I ended up searching for Han x Leila photos. (I've actually drawn Han and Leila before, which utterly lame drawing you can see on the 3rd slide btw 😂🙈). So, I wanted to draw the "scoundrel" scene with Feligami (could have been my first Feligami post btw 🙈) but as you can see guys, I ended up choosing another scene with felinette instead. 😂😂 And now I'm not only confused upon this choice of mine but even feel a bit weird about this drawing too because I wanted this to be just a sketch. I tested my art with and without glaze, 1st I run them w overlayed artwork and it produced a different images and I used the glazed pic and same thing, I only work on one ai model named playground, if you want me to test other models plz let me know,, so in conclusion yes it can fool the ai if you just be smart and overlayed your artwork with other pics, but I don't know about any other ai models out there as I am still looking a different way for phone artists (ios/android) users to have access to glaze.. I bet you’ve been wondering, “When is she ever going to finish those Aspen trees?”🧐 Well, I’m finally making some real progress. 👍🏻 It’s been slow and I’ll admit, the struggle is real. 🤪 So what’s the struggle? Perfectionism for starters, being afraid to put brush to canvas for fear of “messing up” the progress I’ve made. 😬 Also, I’m not a fan of the little black branches on the aspens, but my client’s are and lastly, I have no deadline and if you’re anything like me, you need a deadline! 😆 Let me just start off by saying, I am blessed. Blessed to have the commissions and very blessed to have clients that understand, sometimes you can’t rush creativity. (Hence the reason I have so many different projects in circulation at any given moment.😊) But I have come to realize, that not having these paintings finished, is causing me to feel guilty about working on anything else, so I must move forward and stop procrastinating. I have taken very few art classes, but words came to mind from one of my teachers, just do it! Don’t get hung up on the details, just do it. Being Real Session 3: I have been having a back and forth battle with creating content for this page. It’s not like I am unable to come up with new ideas, I just can’t push myself to sit at my workspace, grab the supplies that I gravitate towards, get my phone and hit record. Overtime I have realised that the act of documenting your art/creative process to make a reel so the gram gods are pleased snatches away the innate joy that the actual creation process is supposed to bring you. While I love what I’m building here, the constant need for new, unique ideas, finding the perfect angles for recording, crafting catchy hooks, and selecting relatable hashtags has turned this into more of a chore. I used to cherish my alone time experimenting with art, but the demand for perfection has made me insecure of my skills and everytime I take a step forward, clouds of doubt surround me, as a result I step away. Taking a break isn’t an option because consistency is key to staying relevant. So, here’s a sketch from my days as a design student, exploring form.
